I Just Really Love My Sleeve

I'm really envious. I've developed gastric reflux since the surgery, something I never had before. I seem to spend every day wondering whether today will be the day that nothing hurts when I eat and that I'll get all my protein and liquids in. I'm going into my fourth week since the surgery, and I've already hit a plateau. What's your secret?
  2. I envy your success. Mine hasn't been as smooth. I try, but I never know when I'm going to feel full until it's too late. Then I have to get rid of some of it to feel comfortable. Good luck with your new boss. It's important to eat your meals on time, so good luck with that too.
  3. The nutritionist told me that meats like beef that tend to have long fibers can be hard to digest at first. Eventually you can tolerate them, but it will take time if you really want to include them. Right now I just want to be able to eat without pain. I'm fighting hard right now to keep down the scrambled eggs I made. Food doesn't seem to want to stay down or pass through. I'm glad for the reassurance that eventually the stomach will start functioning properly. I wasn't prepared for the pain.
  4. I had my surgery on the 27th and was back in the hospital the following Tuesday and then again on the following Saturday. The food just sat there in my stomach and did nothing. The pain was so bad that I threw up several times, which seemed to ease the pain. I was told I could go on to the pureed diet, but that hasn't been working very well. I tried tuna with baby food squash and it seemed to go down OK, but then I followed it with something soft, and that started the pain. I had to throw up to relieve the pain. Tonight it is the scrambled eggs that don't seem to be budging. I'm perversely glad that others are going through the same difficulty, but I'm not happy that I have to go through it. I'm trying not to vomit because it can slow down the healing, but if anyone has a suggestion on how to get things going through instead of just lying there, I'd be thankful to hear it.
