Hey There! So i got sleeved in 2012 lost weight for 6 months, then stopped. Never got to goal weight and didnt start gaining again until this last year. I went to a bariatric surgeon yesterday and he was awesome. He told me my sleeve hasnt stretched but rather I was sleeved incorrectly and the original surgeon left me with a large pouch thats why I stopped losing so quickly after thr first 6 months. He gave me the option of getting resleeved or converting to a bypass although he recco.ends the bypass. Im leaning towards resleeving. Im scared of rny complications and i feel like the vsg is less invasive. What do yall think? Im currently 238lbs and want to get down to 160lbs at the most. He said with the sleeve I could potentially get down to 180lbs (which honestly Id be happy with) but with bypass 160lbs easily. Any suggestions or opinions? Hi All, I had a sleeve done in 2012 lost about 70lbs then stopped losing...haven't gained buy haven't lost anymore and I originally wanted to lose 150lbs. Now I'm looking into doing a revision to either bypass or mini bypass in Mexico and I'm so overwhelmed with all that information out there and the number of doctors. Has anyone done a revision from sleeve to rny successfully in mexico? Can you please help me by telling me your experience? Thank you in advance Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App

Hello I had my surgery on July 11th 2012 and I haven't made it to goal weight yet because somewhere along the line it was more comfortable scoffing down carbs than actual protein. I now want to get my butt back into gear. Has anyone done the 5dpt? I hear that it does wonders to get your pouch back to immediately post surgery status. Is this true?? Thanks in advance

Congratulations! I had my surgery on July 11th 2012. I've allowed myself to backslide and now I'm back here trying to find inspiration so this is exactly what I needed. Thank you

Hey everyone! I started using spark people to track my food and I started exercising and already I've dropped 3lbs. I hope they don't come back. Despite this loss I still think I can work on my water intake and protein intake. Thanks for all the advice I'm glad I've got this forum. I've just been going through a lot; new job, new relationship, starting my Masters, so I've put myself on the back burner and gotten comfortable. Now I've restarted :-) Thanks all!

A year out and feeling frustrated
Mimismom replied to Mimismom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I fail at eating and I don't usually eat anything bad...maybe a protein bar or some nuts and a lean cuisine. But I just want to go back to nothing but liquids for a few days and I'm lacking the discipline. -

I had the sleeve done. Thanks y'all I've been trying to do the 5 day ouch test for months and always fail :-( -
I'm afraid I'm not exercising :-( I've just got this mindset that its too late, I've passed my window of weight loss and there's no more losing. I know it's irrational but I do want to start exercising

I had my surgery on July 11th 2012. I lost a whole bunch of weight, not as much as I'd like, but enough to be comfortable with. Then I got complacent and I haven't lost any weight in months! I've been stuck at 230 forever! My eating habits are not the greatest but they aren't the worst either so I'm looking for advice on how I can get back in the groove of things. Did anyone else go through this? Do you have any advice on how to restart my weight loss again? Thanks!

Hair Loss For People With Already Thin Hair
Mimismom replied to kamrie37's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I couldn't deal with the hair loss anymore so I chopped it all off. It was so freeing and liberating. I was losing clumps and clumps of hair. Now I can take care of it and nurse it back to health. I put a blend of Jamaican castor oil, avocado oil, coconut and jojoba oil on my scalp every night and I'm already starting to see a difference in my hair growing back. It was the best thing I could have ever done. -
My Face Is Breaking Out Like Crazy! What Is Going On?

Omg my face is blowing up!!!!! ' So much acne! -
Hi All, I had my surgery July 11th. For the most part I was doing two protein shakes a day and keeping everything else very low carb. My weight has been coming off slowly and I feel my digestive system is mad at me. Lately I have been incorporating carbs, still doing my protein shakes and eating as a normal person would (think weight watchers) and it seems the weight is coming off quicker. I was scared to use this approach because everything I read goes against it. What do you all think about doing lean cuisines for my lunches and dinner for example and having cereal for breakfast? Has anyone reached their goal with this way of eating? Is there a reason low carb is not working as effectively? Thanks in advance

I was in a stall and I upped my calories significantly for one day and ate things I probably shouldn't have. Then the next day dropped 4lbs and went back to losing. I went back to lowering my calories after.
