I agree with Ashleyxx. Lean meats, low fat dairy, protien shakes (mostly for breakfast), nuts, beans, some veggies and lots of sugar free popsicles. I use my crock pot a lot! I can eat anything I want but try to stay away from carbs because I crave them so bad. I do eat at Subway here and there but I take off the top of the bread. If I need to eat fast food I usually get grilled chicken without the bun or salad with grilled chicken.

Size 18W And 18 To Give Away, Plus Xl

I'm interested. I live in Ohio. Wonder how much the shipping will be? -
I'm down 36 pounds, 4 sizes in pants and 2 sizes in tops since surgery on 2/14/12. I've hit 3 stalls since surgery and I'm really having a hard time with carb cravings. My fiance just had his surgery on Tuesday so I'm hoping we can both keep each other on track.

This recipes says 4 servings but that is a very large serving. I got about 6, 1 cup servings when I made it. I figured it at 188 calories and 10 grams of Protein per cup. It was very very good and my fiance loved it too. It's a keeper. Smoky Refried Bean Soup This soup is so thick it’s almost a chili. Use the minimum amounts of chipotle chili powder and hot sauce to make this a mild dish or add more to make it as hot as you dare. Ingredients 1 large onion, chopped 3 – 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 green bell pepper, chopped 1 1/2 cups vegetable broth 1 14-ounce can diced tomatoes (I used fire-roasted) 15 ounces fatfree refried Beans 15 ounces black beans, cooked 1 cup frozen corn kernels 1 teaspoon cumin 1 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/8 – 1 teaspoon chipotle chili powder (to taste) 1 teaspoon hot sauce (or to taste) 1/2 teaspoon Mexican oregano (optional) salt and pepper, to taste Instructions Spray a large, non-stick pot with cooking spray, and sauté the onion until it begins to brown. Add the garlic and bell pepper and cook for one more minute. Add all the remaining ingredients and cook until the flavors blend, 20-30 minutes. Total time (duration): 40 minutes Diet type: Vegan Number of servings (yield): 4 Makes 4 large servings. Nutrition (per serving): 261 calories, 8 calories from fat, <1g total fat, 0mg cholesterol, 851.8mg sodium, 478.9mg potassium, 49.7g carbohydrates, 14.4g Fiber, 6.7g sugar, 15.2g protein, 7.4 points.

Oh No! Mcdonalds For Lunch?
SweetP replied to vampsy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes at McDonald's I order the oatmeal made with water instead of cream and no brown sugar. I just add splenda. They serve it all day. -
Proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) are a group of drugs whose main action is a pronounced and long-lasting reduction of gastric acid production.

Ok..going Back To The Straw Issue..
SweetP replied to Piplula's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doc said he has no preference. They left it up to me if I wanted to use a straw or not. I have used a straw and haven't had any issues with it. -
My NUT said to look for foods with 5 grams or less of fat per serving and 10 grams or less of sugar per serving.

I was sleeved on 2/14 and I've already had 2 stalls. My weight loss seems slow because I think my expectations were just too high. I've lost 30 pounds in 11 weeks and when I step back and really think about that it's a great accomplishment. An average of almost 3 pounds a week is great! We just have to stay possitive. I weight myself on Mondays and I was really not looking forward to the scale yesterday but I lost 5 pounds this week. I was in shock! Do you track your calories? Maybe you need to change your diet a little or change up your activity. It seems like when I eat more calories I drop more pounds than I expect to. Just an idea. Good luck and hang in there.

BTW, now that my sleeve will hold more food, I'm going back to reduced fat dairy to stay within my calorie range.

I was also only 3 weeks out when my doctor told me to eat at least 1000 calories a day. I thought how in the world am I going to do that since I couldn't eat much at one time and I was still on soft foods. I started eating full fat dairy instead of fat free or reduced fat so I could get more calories in. I also try to get all of my protein from food instead of shakes. It's not to hard to get the calories if you eat on a schedule. I eat six times a day and try to eat some kind of protien every time I eat (lots of eggs, cheese, beans, tuna and chicken).
