    6 Weeks Post Vsg

I was sleeved on 2/14 and I've lost 20 pounds and 2 sizes since my surgery date. I had 3 weeks where the scale was just going up a pound and down a pound. It looks like you're doing great!

    Pizza Pizza

I want to try this one but I haven't yet. I won't make my own sauce. I'm going to just buy a jar of pizza sauce and use reduced fat cheese. If you try this recipe let me know how it turns out. http://www.instructables.com/id/Low-carb-high-protein-pizza-with-homemade-sauce/?ALLSTEPS

    ? About Vitamins

I take Bariatric Fusion chewables that I buy from my surgeon. I'd like to take something different because I have to take 3 a day and they are kinda hard, it takes me forever to chew them up because my teeth are sensitive.
  4. Believe what you want to but it's working for me. It's not too hard to eat 1000 calories when you eat 6 times a day focus on protein.
  5. Teambrown4, I know exactly how you are feeling. I'm 6 weeks post-op today. I lost 12 pounds the first week and then nothing during weeks 2 & 3. The scale was just up and down a pound or 2 and that was it. I started to think why did I go through this when I could have lost like this on Weight Watchers! I had a post-op visit with my surgeon on the 15th and told him I thought my weight loss was too slow. I thought the first month or so would be my biggest loss. He told me I had to eat at least 1000 calories a day to lose weight. I was only getting 600 to 800 a day. He also said to exercise at least 30 minutes because after 15 minutes is when you burn calories. I haven't had any problems with food, my sleeve hasn't rejected anything so far and I've never felt sick or vomited since surgery. I do feel tired somedays but if I make myself excercise I feel better. So, I eat 6 times a day and use myfitnesspal.com to make sure I eat at least 1000 calories a day, I get at least 60 grams of Protein and try to get at least 48 ounces of liquids. Since I up'd my calories I've lost 6 pounds in 10 days! It feels great to finally see some success on the scale. Also, I had to buy new bras (2 inches smaller around) and I'm down 2 sizes is pants. Even when the scale doesn't show it we will lose inches. I know it can be discouraging but keep the faith.

    Valentine Day Sleevers

I eat 6 times a day. Small meals/snacks of course. I've been pretty good about getting my 1000 calories a day and I've lost 5 pounds this week. I've lost 20 pounds since surgery and I'm down 2 sizes in pants. It feels so good to have some success.
  7. Maybe it's reflux. The acid burn in your throat could make it feel that way.
  8. I would see a chiropractor. Maybe you're just out of alignment. It's amazing how good my body feels after seeing mine.
  9. I was yo yoing at week four and my doctor told me I have to eat at least 1000 calories to lose weight. I up'd my calories and have stuck to 1000 calories a day. My scale is finally moving! I've lost 5 in the last week.
  10. Well, looks like the doctor was right. I was eating anywhere from 600 - 800 calories a day and I felt like my weight loss was too slow so soon after surgery. Last week my doctor told me I had to eat at least 1000 a day to lose weight. I've stuck to the 1000 calories a day and have lost 4 pounds in 5 days! Finally I feel like surgery was worth it! I know I've lost lots of inches because my clothes are falling off but it's sooooo nice to see success in black and white. Yay me!

Three reduced fat turkey meatballs with pasta sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  12. I was so afraid of eating too much but it's working. I had lost 14 pounds since surgery and felt like I was failing. I'm so glad this is working.
  13. Leederz, Yes you shuld be able to do the same thing in your blender. Good luck!

    Deli Shaved Turkey

You should always go by your doctors post-op diet just to be safe. On my post-op diet I was allowed to have the turkey, cooked veggies and cheese in the mushy stage 21 days post-op. Raw veggies and more dense protien (like drier meats) after 6 weeks post-op.

    Valentine Day Sleevers

My surgeon just told me last week that I was not eating enough calories and that is why my weight loss is slow. I was eating 700 - 800 a day and he told me to eat at least 1000 calories a day. I'm trying to stick to his 1000 calorie idea and see how I lose.

    Slowest Loser!

I'm 5 weeks post-op today and I've only lost 15 pounds. I am also starting feel like this surgery was a waist of time. I could have lost 15 pounds in five weeks on any other diet! My surgeon told me last week that I need to eat at least 1000 calories a day to speed up my weight loss. I was only getting 700 - 800 per day. I'm trying to stick to the 1000 calorie plan, 60 - 80 grams of protien and 48 - 64 oz of water as day. We'll see if the weight lose gets better I guess.
  18. I usually get the Sobe at Kroger. I've seen it other grocery stores and even gas stations. As far as my schedule, I eat when I'm hungry but I try to not let myself get hungry if that makes sense. I usually have a protien shake in the morning, a mid morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, dinner and usually a snack around 8pm. So, I eat 6 small meals a day. I eat protien at every meal and snack and if I don't eat a little protien around 8pm then I'm up in the night with hunger pangs. I eat mostly eggs, cheese, Beans and meat or fish. Fruit or applesauce with no sugar added helps me get my calories in if I need them and also gives me a little Fiber.
  19. I love Sobe Fuji Apple and Pear. It's really good. Also, I'm 5 weeks out and yes I do count calories. My surgeon told me last week that he wants me to eat at least 1000 calories a day to speed up my weight loss.
  20. I am 5 weeks post-op today and I also feel like I am able to eat too much. I don't have to chew and chew like I thought I would and I can pretty much drink water the way I always did. I haven't come across any food that I can't tolerate. Next week I'll be adding in more solid protien and raw veggies. Last night I had 4 turkey meatballs with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. It weighed 3.5 oz on my food scale. I ate it all and probably could have eaten another meatball but I stopped and I was satisfied. I told my NUT that I am hungry about every 2 hours and she said that is good. She also told me to eat at least 1000 calories a day to speed up my weight loss. I was only getting around 700 to 800 a day. I just really haven't had any problems since surgery and my weight loss isn't as fast as I thought it would be. I'm going to stick to the 1000 calories, 60 - 80 grams of protien and 48 - 64 oz of water and see if I start losing more. I guess slow and steady wins the race.

    1200-1500 Calories...really?

I am 4 weeks post op and my surgeon just told me that my weight lose is a little slow because I wasn't eating enough calories. He wants me to eat at least 1000 calories a day. He said my goal is 1000 to 1200 per day and at least 30 minutes of walking.
  22. I'm 4 weeks post op and just this week my nutritionist told me not to count protien drinks as part of my daily fluid intake. My surgeon told me I need to be eating at least 1000 calories per day to have steady weight lose, get at least 48 to 64 oz of liquid and 60 - 80 grams of protien. I usually have to drink at least one shake a day to hit my protein goal.
  23. I would think eating 4 or 5 times a day would keep your blood sugar level and keep you from having cravings. My NUT told me to never go longer than 5 hours without eating some kind of protein. I am also having sugar cravings and the NUT told me it was because I'm not eating enough good carbs.
  24. I like plain Fage 0% fat greek yogurt with a little unsweetened applesauce, a dash of cinnamon and a packet of splenda. If you buy the yogurt with fruit added it's way too high in sugar.
