I used to take it. It made me MEAN. I decided it was bad for my interpersonal relations so I went off it, and even with a wean down, the withdrawl was horrifying. Please be careful with this drug. It'll make you drop weight, but for me, it was not worth the cost.

I Like To Know How Long Are You Guys Off From Work
Caradina replied to anngee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm returning on my fourth post op day. I work a very low key desk job though, and fully expect to be in twelve shades of hell for awhile. Can't be helped... no sick pay! -
Struggling With Vsg Choice
Caradina replied to piper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm younger than you (33) but my story is really the same. I waffled for a long time, and dinally decided that I was sick of it. I recently had an emergency hysterectomy and gained 40 lbs more after while trying ot get hjormones figured out. I finally said enough is enough! I've been playing the diet game since I was 11. It's never going to end. I'm getting sleeved in 10 days! In my mind, the constant dieting, heartbreaking fails, yo yo weigh ins and embarassment has just been too much to deal with. I would gladly give up the ability to eat like I do now for freedom from my prison of fat. Sorry I can't give you any post op info, but I plan to post as I recover, and I'm in your corner for sure! -
I Added Negative Findings Of The Operation Because
Caradina replied to hamanyq8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't mean to be cruel here, but I struggle with believing that the OP is, in fact, sleeved, or a medical student. The sentence structures, spelling, and grammar alone suggest a person who would never be able to succeed in a university setting, especially in the medical field. Additionally, I have a hard time believing that someone would voluntarily have this surgery without understanding ANYTHING about it. Can we do something about the many trolling posts this person is flooding the board with? -
2.5 Weeks Out, Is This Normal?
Caradina replied to xenus7850's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I had my hysterectomy, I ha the same things happen. I was told that it's the muscle under the incisions starting to knit and it's normal. I'm expecting I'll have it again with the sleeve. -

The Ads Are All Messed Up...can't Respond
Caradina replied to Caradina's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I'm having to relog in constantly to keep things working. It's covering half of the reply box right now. Just a stack of ads. If I log out and back in, it's fixed until I respond to something and then after the response, it goes back to messed up until I do it all again! -
Pre-Op Two Week Liquid Diet
Caradina replied to strawberryblue's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I just started my 2 weeks of pre-op liquid today. I'm so hungry and cranky already! I did a totally liquid diet a few years ago for around 18 months straight! I lost 40 lbs in that time, but it didn't stay off, which is why I'm doing the sleeve. I don't remember it being so hard! LOL Hang in there, we'll both make it! -
Dissapointment ... First Personal Training Session
Caradina replied to Greeneyedgirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Most gyms will show you around your first time to make sure you know how to use the machines. Then I would do like others above said and just get a plan online. Remember, less weight and more reps for women, so you get those long muscles and less bulk. -

Was Anyone Healthy But Just Fat?
Caradina replied to missmeow's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm healthy, no co-morbidities, and i have been fat since childhood. I'm very active, dance, hike and camp, and am really pretty fit. I really can't lose weight without heroic efforts, and I opted for surgery because it'll allow my intake to match my slyggish metabolism without being starving all of the time. For me it is preventative. 3 out of 4 of my grandparents had diabetes. Both grandfathers had heart attacks. My mother have been on cholesterol meds since her mid 30s and she also had apnea. It's coming... it just hasn;t caught up to me yet. -
Awww I cried too, right here at my desk at work! Thank you for sharing your eloquence. I think you speak for us all.

Ot: Sizing Charts Suck. Apple Shaped Women, What Are Your Measurements And Your Size?
Caradina replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a 20 bottom and 1X top.... at 52, 42, 56. I'm super curvy though, not apple shaped, 5'9. Size charts have nothing to do with reality. -
Andkel30 beat me to it. That said, he also does in house financing and his credentials are great! I'm headed his way in 20 days...

Bowel Movement, There I Said It

Whole Foods, or Trader Joes.... Some of the stand alone herbal type stores will probably have it too, but I always find it at those two chains... -
I Am 3 Weeks Post-Op With Vertical Sleeve And So Excited!
Caradina replied to DisneyMom4419's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm a 32 year old hyster-sister too. I've also always struggled, but been able to carefully diet and at least maintain. Since my hysterectomy, forget it. I'm gaining with abandon, though it has seemed to have leveld out now, and I just can't lose. I'm hoping the sleeve will be able to fix it, it sounds like it has for you, so I'm inspired! My PCP thinks that I always had a slow metabolism, and sugical menopause just killed what little I had. She thinks that the low calorie intake required my the sleeve will allow me to maintain a healthy weight, because I just don;t need enough calories in a day not to be hungry otherwise. I bet you're the same way. Congrats on your loss so far, I can't wait to join you on the Losers Bench! -
I Can't Believe Im This Damn Broke....
Caradina replied to janiadurl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
They were really cool about it. You pay $500 down to hold your appointment within 7 days of sceduling. So I called and scheduled, then I paid my $500 deposit to hold the date and bought my plane tickets. I'll pay the remaining deposit ($2000 in my case) in a cashiers check when I arrive for surgery. The rest will be paid in monthly automatic payments out of my checking account. It's been easier than I thought it should be. I'm headed to TJ in 21 days! I'll be sure to post about my experience when I get home. So far though, Belite has done very well, and I am impressed with their followthrough and overall friendliness and excitement for me. -

Bowel Movement, There I Said It
Caradina replied to Iliana82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL I have a chronic issue with this. I find that eating some Fiber One cerial every morning helps. I do 1/4 cup of it and stir in a few big spoonfulls of yogurt. (This is pre sleeve, and it fills me up so approach with caution!) Then, a couple of hours later... magic! I also second the Smooth Move tea. The other one is coffee. Just a small cup is enough to fix the issue for me. -
Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
Caradina replied to Kim David's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had a terrifyingly similar situation at a hospital here in Detroit this last summer. I reported with intense pelvic pain and they basically put me in a room, doped me every 4 hours and completely ignored me for 4 days. I finally called 911 as well and ended up transferred to another hospital where I had an emergency hysterectomy to remove my reproductive system that had been destroyed by an infection that had been neglected the whole time I lay there. I sued, and lost. My medical records also had no record of the issues, and half of my symptoms were gone. They told the courts I was drug seeking and had nothing wrong with me. I have no recourse, and no lawyer will take my case. I Soooo understand! This is why I'm not afraid to go to Mexico for my VSG! They have better care standards there!
