Gallbladder Removal During Vsg
hollygolightly replied to ArcusX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get it out with your WLS surgery. I was sleeved in Feb 12, lost 100 lbs and had a major attack that landed me in the ER. I just had it out last week and have to deal with recovering again (diarrhea and four more holes in my gut!) -
I struggled with eggs from the beginning and even at 4 months out. I find that if I put some steak sauce on a scrambled egg it slides down easier.

I have some social events this summer and looking for some good choices for drinks. I tried beer about a month ago and it was too carbonated for me. I am almost 4 months post-op. Thanks!

I have been practicing yoga on and off for over 10 years. Just before my surgery I was taking 4 classes a week. Yoga has always been a great stress reliever for me. I also find I can build the best strength through yoga practice. I am 3 months out of surgery and feeling pretty good. I did two restorative yoga classes this weekend and my stomach is on fire! I am worried about my abdominal wall muscles. Am I damaging them? Does anyone have experience with starting yoga again after surgery? Thanks!

Being overweight was keeping my relationship from moving forward for years. Once I decided to have surgery, I felt there may be hope for finally getting married and feeling attractive again. Since surgery, my BF has been more distant than ever. I am starting to think I just need to focus on myself and maybe all that I wanted over the years (to get married to him) may not be what I want after all. I can tell you the only focus I have is to get this weight off. Who knows how our relationship will turn out but for once it is about ME and what I WANT to happen. It's kind of empowering to have choice when you don't have the extra weight as an excuse for being treated unfairly.

i too was concerned about returning after 7 weeks off. My surgeon told me to accept the compliments and just keep repeating "thanks I feel great". It seems to work to ward off the attention and questions so far.

I bought two books and have not used either one.

I had one incision below the breast zone that was really bothered by my bra. I wore camisole tanks for at least two weeks which didn't matter because I was home and it was winter so I could wear bulky sweaters.

I was sleeved the same day as well. Also single and in my thirties. Would love to chat. How are you doing? -
You will do great! I just had my 6 week check up today and feel fantastic having lost 33 pounds. You will have obstacles but they are all worth it. Best of Luck!

Protein Shakes Making Me Sick
hollygolightly replied to Seangarrette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way. I spent a ton on Matrix 5.0 and Syntrax. So far, the only thing I can get down is Muscle Milk. I am 6 weeks out. -
Five Weeks Post Op And Feeling Great
hollygolightly replied to dolores43's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi! I also am at 5 weeks and wondering what you are eating. I am still home from work. I feel okay but do not have much energy to eat or do anything. How do you find the energy? Thanks! -
I went through the same thing. I worried constantly about my protein. At four weeks out, I get about half of what I am supposed to but I feel fine. I don't stress about it anymore because it's not good for me. I drink fluids all day and focus on feeling better not how much I ate or drank. I know this sounds like I am not following my dr's directions but you can go crazy thinking about it all day long. Drink what you can, go for a walk and catch up on your shows. Part of this journey is to slow down and take care of you!

Diarrea After Every Meal, Please Help!
hollygolightly posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and can't seem to eat anything without having cramping and diarrea after. I am keeping a food log to see if it is certain foods, but it does not matter what I eat. Even my protein shakes make me sick. Has this happened to anyone else? I can't leave the house and am feeling very frustrated. Thanks! -
Diarrea After Every Meal, Please Help!
hollygolightly replied to hollygolightly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for the advice. I have been steering clear of too much dairy and I backed off on my protein shakes. I think my body just needs to continue healing. I am eating soft foods for a few more days and then I can be on a regular diet. Right now, I am eating lots of meat and beans and drinking my water. I am not sure about any allergies, I just think I need to get used to which foods I can tolerate and which I can't. I started taking a gummy fiber which I believe is helping. Before surgery, I ate a ton of vegetables and salads so I am sure that fiber is what my body is looking for. The main thing I learned is to deal with the obstacles that comes with the journey! Good health to all!
