How are things going? I've been at my personal weight goal for three months. 130 or so. Working on figuring out how many calories to eat to not loose anymore. Been playing around w 1490 cals a day and eating back some of my exercised burned cals too. Been going to gym 3-4 times a week and doing my at home morning workout routines too. Love my sleeve. I've lost 145 pounds! I had sleeve surgery 6/11/12. Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST

female only When to tell new boyfriend I had Sleeve surgery?
Pam2011 posted a topic in The Gals' Room
Been dating a guy for over 2 months now. He didn't know me when I weighed 270 pounds or before WLS. Wondering when/if should tell him. We've ate out at restaurants so he's seen the small amounts I've eaten and always take home the leftovers too. I told him I'm watching what I'm eating & have mentioned to him I've lost weight but haven't told him how much or how. Opinions??? Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST -
When to tell new boyfriend I had Sleeve surgery?
Pam2011 replied to Pam2011's topic in The Gals' Room
Yes the weight loss does show on my body, I do have loose skin and saggy boobs. I am very self concious about that too, more so than when I weighed 270. Yes we have had sex and I wondered what he was thinking when he saw me naked. I have thought about telling him but wondered what his reaction would be. Thanks for your thoughts. -
Hit Goodwill & Salvation Army & consignment stores. I have found brand new clothing w the tags on them at these places. Used to wear a 24 /3xl & now wearing size 10/ med/large. I restocked my closet w smaller clothes at Salvation Army and only paid 49 cents each for most items. I have bought new too. Only buy new bras, undies, pjs, shoes. I took most of my too big clothes to consignment stores & have made over $200 on my fall/winter items & donated the rest to my local domestic violence womens shelter. Wearing size 10 jeans that are loose & med or large tops. Knee pain has gone away. I eat about 1000 cals a day, 80-100 grams of protein a day, drink 80 oz of liquids a day. Walk 2-4 miles a day in 30-60 minutes. Starting to go to a gym the first week of Jan 2013 Planet Fitness when it opens up then. Life is good!!! Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST -

Tell Me About Your New Clothes
Pam2011 replied to Boofster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All my clothes are too big so most of them went to a couple consignment stores so I can earn some money off them and what they didn't accept I donated to my local domestic violence women's shelter. I have bought most of my smaller clothes at Salvation Army on Saturdays for 49 cents each. Each Sat. they have a certain pricetag color on sale for 49 cents. If I like it I buy it! I don't try anything on take it home wash on have hot Water and high heat in dryer. I buy smaller sizes also to have ready. I have bought a few new items but when you can only wear it 3 weeks and then it's too big it really isn't worth buying new. I have bought new bras, undies, pjs. I also bought a new pair of black knee high boots and a new wool coat. The coat is a large. If it's too big by the time the weather is that cold I will exchange it for a size medium. How Are All The June Sleevers Doing Since Surgery?:
Pam2011 replied to Addison's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have lost 44.60 since my surgery on June 11, 2012. I have been doing great. Getting in 80 to 90 even 100 grams of protein in a day. Eating around 800 cals a day. Still only able to eat about 2 oz of meat. Thank goodness I haven't had any horrible shoulder pain since mid August. I think the physical therapy exercises I do at home are helping alot. I don't regret my decision to have sleeve surgery at all! -
I was on the Depo shot pre op but didn't get my April 2012 one since I had to be off it for surgery. I just started back up on the shot today. I spoke to Gyn and she said it can cause weight gain but the iud didn't work for me before surgery and at my age the don't like to put you on the pill. If my weight loss stops or stalls alot these 3 months coming up I guess I will switch to another method. Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST

My surgery date was 6/11/12. I weighed 223 day of surgery. Current weight is 186. I did loose 47 pounds pre op. Seem to be slowing down and only loosing 2 pounds a week now. Not so much in upper thigh area and upper am area. Not happy w saggy upper arms. Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST

I made it through surgery today! Keeping up w pain w pain pump meds through iv. Took first walk at 5:30 tonight wasn't bad. Will be walking every 4 hours, they will wake me up in middle of night to walk. Ice chips one medicine cup every hour. Tomorrow will do 4 an hour of medicine cups of clear liquids. They found 2 hernias fixed the hital hernia but left other one. Fixing the hital hernia might make it hard to get liquids down tomorrow the Dr said. Other hernia will be fixed later down the road dr said.

Yes I was released on Friday June 15. They kept me longer due to me getting sick at my stomach and not getting enough liquids down. They didn't want to send me home and me get dehydrated. I also had a hital hernia repaired during sleeve surgery and surgeon said that this can cause people to not tolerate liquids right after surgery. I'm doing good now getting 80 oz or more liquids in, surgeon started me on protein shakes 1oz per hour and 7 oz of clears when I saw them on Mon. Started bariatric vitamins on Tuesday and did ok. See the surgeon on Friday of this week.

I was just allowed to start protein shake 1oz per hour w 7 oz clears on Monday. I had surgery June 11 but also was found to have a hital hernia so they fixed that too so drinking clear liquids in the hospital wasn't easy and I stayed in clears till I was released on Friday June 15. I've not had a problem w the 1 oz of protein shakes per hour. Using Nectar Chocolate Truffle mixed w skim milk. I used this also for pre op 2 week liquid diet too. I'm getting in at least 80 total oz of liquids a day one day I got 100 oz in. I've been drinking decaf iced tea w stevia, decaf coffee w skim milk and the flavored sugar free coffee syrups, ice water, and sugar free pop sickles. I did buy Campbell's chicken noodle soup added 2 cans if water to it and strained out the chicken and noodles and have been using the broth of it to drink.
