Congrats Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried boneless chicken thighs? I find that they are much jucier than chicken breast, they go down much easier, and without the skin its not that horrible-almost compbrable fat/calorie wise as chicken breast.

what's in the recipe for the greek style ribs?

Panting and Sweating on elliptical trainer this morning for an hour....Feel better already!

Denise, hope you feel better, the worst is being sick in the summer. Not only are you sick, but its freakin hot! Rosi, I do the same thing. My boyfriend and I went to dinner last night and we ordered an appetizer and two meals...yea right. We ate the appetizer and I had to have my whole order wrapped up because I was so stuffed. So my punishment was to watch him eat all of his meal. That's what I get for thinking I can eat just the same as before the band. I just started exercising this week, real exercising. 1hr of hard core panting, sweating, grossness on the elliptical and yesterday (which was only day 2) I was very very cranky. But today I feel much better. I do wonder why I was so cranky though. Has this happend to anyone else? I'm still getting plenty of sleep at night, I try to average 8-9 hrs, and nothing else in my schedule has changed. Oh well.......

How is the iphone??? I use the ipod while I'm sweating it out, which is working for me so far...but with the iphone I could do so much more...

Denise, I have tried the soy crisps before and they are good. I totally forgot about them. I'll have to start adding them to the diet. Oh Juli, I never think you are bragging, in fact I love reading what your up to next. You are one of the ones that has motivated me to get off my butt and into the gym - what with your bicycling 50 miles?!? I have to compete somehow... momlambert, congrats on the new addition. Can't wait to hear how your daughter and new baby are doing! josiebies, don't quit on the marchies just yet...now that you know some of us have the same feelings you may want to stick it out with us... demsvmejm, never babbling, love to hear what other people are doing, and how they're doing carol1951, I can't believe you ate a muffin. I'm still scared to try a muffin. I have done the pie filling thing though... lilnena, are you trying any other snacks besides jello? nurseamy, I have tried soda after the surgery, but I'm not as in love with it as I used to be. I kind of lost my taste for it...which I'm completely happy about!

thanks for responding, I checked it out last winter, but I am going to have to look at it again!

josiebies About your eating issue, for the most part I have similar problems with eating. I find I can eat junk much better than good piece of Protein. I was at my aunts house last sunday and I couldn't eat the steak that she made (it was super tender), even though I chewed it into a paste, but 15 minutes later I downed 4 gingerbread Cookies. I don't know what the deal is. As to the post where you feel like your talking to yourself, I know how you feel. I post on other threads where I feel like I'm part of a group. On this thread, I just blab, but don't get too much in return.

nurseamy - you look fantastic

Is the Wii really worth the money? I was thinking of getting it for the same reason, but wasn't sure if it was worth it or if I would use it that much...

Denise and Hazelbunny - you guys look great. Oh Juli - I noticed your little pic changed too, noticing some big differences! Congrats Congrats All!!! I just wanted to thank you guys and this website, it really has inspired me to get off my a$$. I always had an excuse not to exercise and I was talking to one of the health nuts at work yesterday; he told me to wake up earlier to go to the gym. And I did. Today I woke up at 4 30, went to the gym, jumped on the elliptical trainer for 45 min, burned over 500 calories, jumped in the shower and drove up to work. And I feel so much better! I'm sure I'll be tired until it becomes routine, but I've already planned to go the rest of the week. Instead of getting home, taking care of puppy, eating dinner, and then sitting on the couch procrastinating, I'm already taken care of. Its a great feeling. One more thing - NSV. This may sound crazy, but if I ever went to a public bathroom I would always use the handicap stall because it was so much bigger. If I used a regular stall, not only would I be constantly bumping into something, I would have to pretty much stand on the toilet to open the stall door. Well, the handicap stall was in use last night so I went into a regular stall, and DIDN'T HAVE TO STAND ON THE TOILET!!! I just opened the door like a normal person. I was so excited. Ok enough about me!!!

josiebies - I don't know why I always feel like the only one. I think I just get a little depressed when I see other people who are becoming ROCKSTAR athletes and I'm still sitting on the couch. I've been reading up and down the exercise thread and I think I am going to start waking up super early and going before work because I think my biggest problem is going home to eat dinner and never going back out. I try to find every excuse in the book not to go to the gym. The snacking has been bad, the food choices have been bad, and the lack of exercise has been bad, and its time for a change. Funny how I thought that change would just magically happen after my surgery. It just goes to show the ignorant people who say that we took the easy way out that they're wrong. It still ain't easy!

Hey guys I am curious about something, any answers are greatly appreciated. I haven't lost anything in over 3 weeks. I'm happy with my 40lb loss, don't get me wrong, but the scale won't budge, and I have definatly NOT been consistent with working out, which I know is key to losing. Yes, I do know that. About 2 months ago, I was going to the gym 2 times a week to do 45 min long cardio (elliptical trainer). This lasted for 3 weeks. Then I went on vacation and since then haven't done anything. I guess my problem is, besides excuses, I just can't seem to keep up with a gym/exercise routine. Years ago, before I ended up gaining all my weight, I was a super gym rat, 30 min cardio, 1 hr weight lifting daily. I'm not gonna lie, I was bulky; my shoulders are wide, and my arms were huge. I was lifting heavy weights. I don't want to look like that again. But I don't want to lift lighter weights either, and I do want a routine that I can stick to, that I know will work, and that is not only cardio! I know cardio is important, not only weight wise, but heart, brain etc wise. Should I hire a personal trainer for a couple of sessions? Should I start back up with a nutritionist? Should I just start with some cardio for now, is that even enough? I'm at a loss for the whole exercise thing and I figured my fellow marchies could help. You all seem so active! I'm a little jealous!!!

I've been up and down with my engery. As others stated, if I don't get my protein in, my energy is low. I've been in a slump for a couple weeks, but I also haven't been drinking my protein shakes.

Oh Juli - I've been reading your posts, even with the extra calories your still getting in a lot of exercise! I'm lucky if I get 30 minutes 2x a week. I've definately got to work on that one!

Hi Everyone I saw my doc last wednesday and she didn't want to fill me. I had lost 5lbs in 6 weeks. She was fine with that. I thought it was very very very slow. I haven't lost anything in two weeks. I also haven't been exercising as well as all of you. I'm jealous, and I'm definately taking in more calories also. Around 1400-1700. I told that to doc, but she was still happy with the weight loss. She had originally told me she wanted me eating 1200 calories. When I go back in a couple weeks I'm not sure whether to ask for a fill or not. What do you guys think?

Has anyone heard of this product, true lemon, true lime, or true orange? A friend of mine goes to weight watchers and I guess she heard about it at one of the meetings. Its a small packet (looks like a sugar substitue packet) of either crystallized lemon flavor, lime flavor, or orange flavor. She gave me a sample of the lemon and the lime and they are terrific! They are supposedly in the water aisle of the grocery market. I've been using the crystal light packets for my bottled water but have been getting really sick of it, no matter which flavor I try. I tried this in tea with some honey, and in a bottle of plain water and it tastes like there is an actual lemon or lime in whatever I put it in. Just thought I'd let you all know.

Hey everyone I get to see my doc tomorrow to see how everything is going. I'm not sure whether she's going to want to fill me or not, and I'm not sure whether I need one or not. Some days I'm very tight and other days I feel like I've been eating non stop. I can still eat up to 1500 calories a day, on most days. And I haven't had a problem with eating breakfast, which I used to for about 2 weeks after my most recent fill. But I've also been steadily losing. As for the booze, I still drink and I find it does make me tipsier quicker, but only by a drink. Instead of 3 glasses of wine to get tipsy, I drink 2.

I drink soda about once a week. It just gives me the burps...
