Pain in the Port, Weight Loss Stopped.
jmarruda replied to lbgirl12's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I go to see the doc in a week and a half, I'll ask for the .4cc's back and work with it. Thanks for the advice! -
YES!!!!!!!!!! So yesterday I got back to the gym, 60 minutes on elliptical and this morning 35 minutes on stationary bike and 30 minutes on elliptical!!! I feel so much better. I don't even know why I didn't go for 4 days in a row. I finally feel like my ticker is moving. Theres a beginner spinning class at my gym and I'm thinking of taking it on Sunday, so if I get to go I'll let you all know how it was!

OH Juli-Good luck with your fill! demsvmejm-Happy Bday...Hang out with your fill for a couple of weeks. You can always have it taken out later if you feel like its still too tight. I probably should have left my fill in and waited longer than 1 1/2 weeks to have an unfill. Theres a beginners spinning class on Sunday at my gym that I think I'm going to try out...Never done it before. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Pain in the Port, Weight Loss Stopped.

I should have added more to the list of things that make me PB besides white fluffy stuff....I have a real hard time (when I was filled to 2.4 cc's) with chicken breast, turkey breast, basically any white meat, egg whites, cheese. That's pretty much all that I can think of right now. I guess my problem is that I'm not sure what to eat now. I either drown the white meat in sauces or mayo, which I'd rather not do, or eat red meat, which I'm trying not to eat too often. I don't like any types of seafood, so I guess that's what I'm having a hard time with, trying to figure out what to eat. -
Great Article! That is basically what I've been doing all along. Some people think that staying between a certain heart rate range is best for fat loss, but I have always thought that calories in vs. calories out. At a higher intensity, or during intervals, your burning way more calories than staying at a constant heart level. After an hour on the elliptical I can burn over 800 calories. It's unbelievable! And I must say, I sweat like crazy!

That's Awesome...and I only pry because I feel like sometimes I'm doing something totally wrong. I had a 5 week plateau, which after week 2 I started to focus on exercise...After 3 weeks I lost 2lbs and since then, 2 weeks now, I still haven't lost anything. I do notice my clothes getting bigger, but that's about it. The scale is just not budging, which makes me think that I need another fill.

Denise I think I'm going to take your advise and ask her for only .2 cc's. I'm never sure whether I have enough fill in me. I feel like a lot of different foods get stuck and I'm trying to stick it out with the healthy stuff, but I'm still eating a lot as it is. I haven't lost a lb in 3-4 weeks. How many calories are you consuming on a daily basis? and how often are you working out. You are really doing FAB!

Bullwinkle - have you tried to snack on hard boild eggs? I know some people can't do them, and I haven't even tried to yet, but I was going to give it a go for breakfast instead of my usual protein shake. I get hungry within an hour of drinking the shake...

Mary, That's exactly how I felt, I was 2.4 cc in my 4 cc band. I could feel everything, even liquid, and I couldn't get off mushies, 1 full week. So I ended up having the doc take .8 cc's out, but then I could eat anything I wanted to, so I had her put .4 cc's back in, for a total of 2.0. My problem is I'm not sure to ask for the additional .4 cc's back, since it was too much before. I'm not sure if that is restriction or not. So I guess I'm not really answering your question, or helping you out in anyway, since I have the same problem.

WASa-Question for ya! How filled do you think someone should be? How many calories, in your opinion, should you be eating? I have 2.0cc's in my band as of now, but I had 2.4 previously and I asked the doc take some out because I was pb'ing on things such as rice or potato. Right now, I know I can't eat bread and pasta, which is fine, but I'm still eating what seems like a lot of calories, I've tracked my caloric intake a number of times on fitday and it seems to range anywhere from 1500 to 1800 cals a day. And I have sincerely tried to wait until I felt absolutely starving to eat, and it seems like I'm feeling that way every few hours. Could I just be getting used to my fill and need another? -
What about mixing half isopure with half crystal light?
-
Jeni - down 47.5lbs is awesome! I'm down about 42lbs and I was heavier to start off with...My scale hasn't moved in a long time!
-
Hey Mary, I just noticed your only 20 pounds away from goal!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hey Mary, where do you get the Isopure grape frost drink?
-
AHa! So that is the underlying reason why I haven't worked out since Saturday!!!!!!!
-
So nothing for tuesday either! And today may be a wash, this means double time in the gym this weekend!

Thats Hysterical!!! -
To be honest, the first fill and the one I just had last month hurt the worst, but even then, it just feels like a pinch and the whole "procedure" takes about 1-2 minutes, 3 if the doc gives me a band aid. The whole needle thing freaks me out, but I don't look. I just lay back, close my eyes, and relax.

I feel the same way, I haven't lost much at all, compared to a lot of you marchies, and I feel like I am busting my butt at the gym. The eating could always be better, but after re-evaluating everything, down to food, exercise, etc, I think I am going to try a couple months off my birth control pills. That is the only thing that I can possibly think of that is prohibiting me from losing weight. Or I need another fill. I feel like a dope though because my doc likes to fill aggresively and my second fill felt like too much then, so I had her take a little more than half out and since then I have only had 1 small fill, but now I think I may need another fill, which if I do get one would bring me back up to where I was when I though I was too full. I don't know. This feels very trial and error, and is quite frustrating when the pounds don't come off.

So on Sunday I woke up and couldn't move from using both the elliptical and stairstepper back to back...and Monday I took the day off. I may be back in the gym tonight. I'll keep you guys updated. I gotta get this ticker moving! We're almost half way through the month and I'm not even close to half way there!!! I better make it or I'll be really disappointed!

Sat 8/11 60min elliptical trainer, 15min stairstepper, 4 sets of 15 crunches. Remind me never to do the two machines back to back!
