    Motivate Me

tae bo is awesome!!!! do that!!!! your arms will be all cut up from throwing all those jabs!!!!
  2. I forgot to add also, my doc and I agree that working out and not losing weight is much less shocking to the body that not working out and losing weight very fast. Trust me, I lost most of my weight in the very beginning (30 or so lbs), right after the surgery, and she's not at all displeased with what I'm doing now. She's actually quite happy. We both agree that it is so much more normal than my lifestyle prior to the band!

Now see, I was trying to be nice and give you some props! Maybe I am fooled!
  5. I haven't posted in a little while because not much has been going on for me. I'm still seeing a personal trainer twice a week, and doing my cardio 5 times a week. Weight hasn't changed at all. Haven't seen my doc in a while, I'm going to see her in December. I feel like I'm in a rut, but then again, not? I don't know. I'm still pushing during my workouts, and trying to eat more healthy foods than unhealthy foods. At the markets, I'm now buying lower calorie items, and replacing red meats with turkey and chicken. I know I need to lose another 75lbs to get to my goal, but I'm really not in that big of a rush. If I lost 60lbs in one year, I would be ecstatic, because I know that without the surgery, I would have at least gained another 20. I'm toner, less flabby, and physically doing things that I never could do before, and in general, just moving so much more than before. No complaints.....All I care about is looking and feel good on my wedding day, which is next august, if I make it till then!:nervous
  6. Don't feel too discouraged, I'm losing a steady 2lbs a month and have been for a while. I've been filled .1ccs more than I am now, and I had to take the fill out because I couldn't even swallow liquids after 3 days. But at my current fill level, I can still sneak in over 2000 calories, even though I try really hard not to and I'm eating really good foods. I'm hopeful that I can one day have a little more fill and it will get me to where I need to be to lose weight consistently. Don't look at the scale too much now, you know you are going in for another fill soon, and keep up the exercise, because thats only going to help!

    Motivate Me

Listen to whosyadaddy, he knows what he's talking about...As far as workouts at home, simple. Put in an exercise video. Crank up some music and get a set of 3, 5, and 8lb weights and you will have a ton of exercises to do. Start with pushups, real pushups, not the girly ones. My trainer said if she ever caught me doing girly pushups, she'd crack my knee caps. Try 10, even it it takes 20 minutes to do. Walk up and down a hallway doing lunges. Get a jump rope. Get your bicycle out of the garage/basement, go around the neighborhood, start the couch to 5k program, all you'll need is a pair of good running shoes. It soo easy to make excuses, but really, there are soooo many things you could do just at home. Come join us at http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f81/november-exercise-44317/index7.html. We post daily about what exercises we've done, new exercise we're thinking of trying, etc.

    November Exercise!

I'm back...I hr with personal trainer, lower body and abs. Ouchie! Maybe later I'll go for a walk with doggie (most likely). I need to start amping up the cardio again. The c25k workout had been non-existent. Maybe tomorrow I'll try week 4, even though I voted for week 3 again...
  10. I would have to agree with jachut, I usually eat and then about 30 minutes later am able to run or spin. If I have an early morning workout, I find the best thing to do is grab a protein shake. I can't physically eat something in the morning, but I definately have to have something in my stomach, and I'm usually not a protein drink person, but whenever I have to get going in the morning thats the only way.
  11. Well, I've been having some work problems, my boss is being really annoying, not in the work part of work problems, we just bicker a lot and act live we've been married for 50 years and he's working my last nerve. I was so frustrated about it on friday that I left early and I have been thinking about it all weekend, not like me at all...And I have to start working overtime. So I'm going to have to start sneaking the running in somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I may only be able to do it 2 times a week. But hey, I guess its better than nothing...
  12. Week 3 for me, again. If I even do it, I've been slacking lately...

losing jusme's quest to the Minnie marathon

Not that much of a bust though, if you think about it. Marathoners usually scope out where they'll be running prior to race day, so just think of it that way. You know what you need to do for next time, and you're going to push through like the trooper you are. I'm so excited for you. Just remember, get in some proper stretch time, laces not too tight, and there are going to be inclines, but there will also be downhill slopes too. Don't be too hard on yourself, you're doing great!

    November Exercise!

Ok, Sat. 1hr with personal trainer (arms) and 25minutes stationary bike.
  15. I eat anywhere from 1500-2000 calories a day depending on what my activity level is like. Like losing said, I get really light headed and shaky if I eat 1500 calories, then go to my spin class and work out with my trainer for an hour. I need the extra calories, sometimes I even have to bring a snack (protein bar or string cheese) with me to the gym to have in between sessions. There are some days when I do nothing at all, so I try to limit my intake on those days...the lowest I have ever been is around 1300 calories. Any less and I starve! It also depends who you ask as I have found, my trainer wants me at 2000 calories, my nutritionist wants me at 1800 calories and my surgeon wants me at 1500 calories. I just picked the number in the middle.

    My email to my family.

Beautifully written, and I think you have explained so well what the band is, how its going to work, and what they should expect from you. Maybe now nobody will be coming up to you going, so, did you lose more weight, well, how much have you lost, etc, etc. It seems like most of the questions I have been asked would definately be answered in this e-mail. Oh, and congrats on getting your band, and your loss so far!
  17. Losing, I did try the freezer thing, and that is the BEST way! You are soooo awesome for signing up for the 5k...I'd be waaaay too scared!

    BCBS (MA) Approval!

Congrats!!! Where will you be having your surgery??? Just asking because I have BCBSMA also. Had mine at Rhode Island hospital
  19. Ok Losing...I received my atkins shakes on wednesday. Had one thursday for breakfast. Not that it was bad, it was actually suprisingly good, but I wasn't sure that I was in love with it. This morning when I woke up, I actually felt like having one, so I did. A little while ago I passed by a starbucks and decided to grab the caramel frappachino.....and the atkins shakes are a dead ringer!!!!! It tastes exactly like the frappachino, Amazing! I finished the frapp a little while ago, and now I want a shake.....I think I'm addicted!

    November Exercise!

Actually, I'm super scared now because I know I won't be able to be exercising as much. At work there is all of a sudden a bunch of overtime, and of course I'm taking as much as I possibly can because I really need the money right now...I was actually thinking we would have our huge christmas eve bash...but now we can have it, as long as I start bringing home the bacon. But the exercise is definately going to suffer. I've made a commitment to the personal trainer 2 times a week, and I'm keeping at least that, and I'd like to be in there on sundays and maybe thursdays later at night. Hopefully I can still keep the c25k thing going, because lately I have really been wanting to actually be a runner! I'm not sure why, but I think its one of those things that I'm struggling with now and I'm just a competitve person by nature, even with myself, so if I can't do something, I end up wanting to do it!:nervous

    Whole wheat pasta?

That's the one that I use....I find that I have to boil it about 2 extra minutes than regular pasta, making it a little more mushie for my band, otherwise its a no go. But it is delicious.:hungry:
