    Stefanie and Jess, you guys will love spin. I do. And I was super nervous going to my first class, but whatever I couldn't do, I just got back into the saddle and kept my legs moving. The funny thing is, you'll notice that it helps you out in other sports, I found running to really complement spinning and vice versa. After I started running, I had so much more wind in spinning, and with spinning, I could run longer lengths for longer bouts of time. Its really a great compliment to any routine! Ok, enough about spin... 1hr personal trainer, 40 minutes stationary bike. Now this may come off as complaining, but I'm sooo not! I've noticed since last wednesday (the day I got my last fill) that each time I've been going to the gym (which is actually only twice, we got a pretty major snow pounding that kept me housebound) I just want to stay there. I'm not sure if its because theres no food there, and I can just keep going or what. But I notice that I'm not snacking as much lately, and sometimes I don't even remember to eat, which I thought people were lying about!!! I guess what I'm saying is, if this is going to be the way its going to be, then I'm going to be one happy camper. I skipped dinner tonight, and I'm not really into cooking a full meal for myself, so I'm just going to get some Jello and a piece of fruit! (I never thought I'd ever write that.....)

    You are ROCKING it Stefanie! Size 13 juniors? I was never that small. My goal is to be a 16, but it would feel good to be a size 13. I may have to rethink this whole thing. Oh, and by the way guys, I lost those 2lbs I gained. And I'm hoping even more will come off!!!!!

    December Exercise

    Skin thing, I'm not sure about. Other than giving it some time, or having PS, even after you lose to catch up, I'm not sure what to do. My mother lost 90lbs pretty rapidly with RNY and she had a lot of loose skin, and she still does, but not as much as right after she lost the weight. Her skin sorta caught up with her. The only other thing that I could possibly think of is massaging the areas that are really bad, daily. Getting blood to flow to the area could hurry it up a little. (I don't think this is based on any scientific facts!!!!) Like scalp massages stimulate hair growth because of the blood flow, I'm thinking massaging skin may help. I did see a lotion advertised, I'm not sure the brand, but it was a department store brand (and very expensive $50 a bottle) but it was supposed to tighten the skin and take up to an inch off thighs, etc. Could it be clarins? I'll post if I can think of it....

    Ok first of all, GODIVA? WTF? Geez, I hope I don't get anything like that. Thats the last thing we all need! Second, Stefanie, I myself am awarding you Lapbander of the Year. Congrats, I'll be awaiting your speech! Third, Yes, I pretty much stopped losing weight in July. I then started to work out, figuring it would help. I should have started working out from the beginning, I probably would have lost a lot more. Irregardless, I think I have my ticket to loserville now. I checked my calories today, and I have consumed....drumroll.....1371....down from 2119 yesterday. Woo freakin Hoo! I'm hoping that with eating real food (no liquids, I was eating creamy soups today) the calorie level will either stay the same or drop! I didn't get to go to the gym though, we were dumped with 10" of snow, so instead of sitting around watching tv, I grabbed a shovel and worked it outside for over an hour. Thats gotta count for something!

    Little Improvements

    I've noticed huge improvements in my endurance for other sports when I cross train, as in, when I run, I do better in spin the next day, or vice versa. I like it!

    Mrs Husker - Great story, very cute! Ok, so I saw the doc yesterday and I gained 2lbs....she was not thrilled so she filled me. Now I'm at 2.25ccs in my 4.0cc band and so far so good. I'm on liquids and not really all that hungry, yet. We'll see what happens in the coming days. I just hope that this is where I need to be to lose the weight. I've been at a 4 month plateau now and I just want to get the weight loss ball rolling again. I'm shooting for a 10lb loss for the next time I see her, which is in 5 weeks. Wish me luck!

    Ok, I seriously would like to lose 15lbs by my next appointment, but that may be slightly unrealistic. 10lbs also seems quite unattainable, but maybe because I have had a 5 month plateau!

    Guys, thanks sooo much. I really do appreciate all the support you guys give me on a daily basis. Actually, I don't feel so bad. Last night my trainer canceled, so I went to the gym on my own and worked a lot harder than I usually do with the trainer. I was very proud of myself. Then I went home and had 1 cup of a thick chicken soup, which was blended, and went to bed. This morning, I'm not starving, which I usually am when I'm on liquids. I've had a coffee and an atkins shake, and I have some more soup for lunch. And I actually want to go to spin tonight. Before I felt like I was just trying to motivate myself, but I actually miss it and I really want to go. I hope the big snowfall that we're supposed to get doesn't stop me this time. And Stefanie, you can be my cheerleader anytime. I really do need one. Especially for the exercise part of this journey!

    Ok, so I just got back from drs visit....I GAINED weight. 2lbs....not horrendous, but enough to make me really upset. And my trainer canceled on me. I have to go it alone tonight. And I never made it to spin last night. I had to finish wrapping and cleaning so I can start cooking this weekend coming up. I'm a wreck! But I'm going to the gym tonight. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'll find something. Maybe c25k, elliptical, bike, ahhhhh so many choices! Maybe I'll do some upper body work since we won't be doing that until next week. Anyways, back to my original point, dr was not happy. Not that she was pissed, just not happy. She was disappointed that I had such a plateau these last few months, so we got to talking and I told her how many calories I was consuming and her chin nearly hit the floor. She said, I told you 1200, and if not come in for a fill. I guess I didn't hear that part! Even though at 2.0cc's, if I move up to 2.4cc's I can't eat anything. So she only gave me a small fill of .2ccs (she said it was slightly over .2cc's, I think that was for the 1700 calorie remark!) so now I'm up to 2.2cc's in my 4.0cc band. I'm really hoping that this is going to be what I need to drop the calorie level, because if not, I'm not sure what to do. So she wants my first mushy meal to be tomorrows dinner, so I'm going to scrounge up some mashed potatoes or some refried Beans to see how I do. I just had an atkins shake, and I'm not feeling all that full, so BF is warming some Soup for me.

    I'm with ya Di, I think that everyone thinks that their own surgeon is the best surgeon ever. I love my surgeon, and would recommend her to anyone, but I'm not gonna come on here and become a billboard for her! The surgeon she is partners with is also very good. Do I think he's the best? No!
  19. I had to do 2 sleep studies as well. The first time I didn't sleep well, and the results were, well, inconclusive. The second time I took a sleeping pill so I could just zonk out, and it worked. The second time the results were in, mild sleep apnea. Luckily, I don't have it anymore, and only had to use the machine for 4 months. Good luck....

    Did that last night. I put some greek salad in a small piece of pita, chewed, then spit it out. I think I just wanted the satisfaction of chewing on bread!

    I have to agree, I went to the market to pick up odds and ends for my cookie weekend next weekend and spent $200 on a full, overloaded carriage full of junky crap. Usually, its just BF and me and I buy lean meats, produce, dairy, etc, and I can spend $200 a week, with the cart 1/2 full. CRAZY!!!!!!!

    You may be hunted down for that one Stefanie....I'm scared for you. There are some things that I think are right, like this one, but I don't want to deal with all the hate posts! The protein police will definately be searching! I think you're right though, it completely depends on your situation, weight, exercise, etc. If I eat protein, I'm not thinking, oh, this has 30 grams, so I'll eat half now and half later, I think, Oh good, this had 30 grams of protein.
