OMG! So in my mind I thought 100 lbs lost would be nice! That would put back to my High school weight and I was not overweight then. But when the Dr set my goal yesterday I was taken aback. WHAT?! Really??! I think that someone else verbalizing your thoughts may scare you. Because Lawd knows I hate failure and now I have a standard to live up too. Im 3 weeks out and this is the final meals week before my pre op diet. Any suggestions on getting the biggest bang for my cuts?!LOL I have to do this and I have to do it well. Did you know pre op if you were going to be a slow loser?

Hi Yall!! I know I have been MIA but I am struggling! I was sleeved on 3/21 and everything worked out well. One night stay in the hospital went home with my drain. 1 week post op and the drain was removed and still stuck on full liquids!! YUCK! I could not get in my Protein, Water or anything else. Not because it hurt! Because, I am afraid I may derail the teachings from the NUT (Who is dumb) and just f up my sleeve. 2 Week post op check up! YAY, mushy foods. Well here is the catch. The hospital has 2 different practices that perform this procedure. However, only one class to discuss the pros and cons and what to expect. So the book that was given to us in the pre op class says soft chicken, etc. can be added. NOT MY PRACTICE. I can have canned meat just not chicken breast. Well, that blew my high! I took to chewing meat and spitting it out during Easter dinner. Only chicken. The scale is moving but it hasnt moved as quickly as I would like. I am down 37 lbs. but still a size 18. Which makes me laugh. Who in the world do you knoe that can lose damn near 40 lbs and still fit the same size pants???? Weird. Any who I am back at work and prefer wasting time here online then at home!! Hope my sleeve sisters are rocking out!!1

Tomorrow makes me a full week out! I started full liquids as soon as I was released from the hospital. I have a JP drain and it is killing me. I suppose to have it removed tomorrow but, afraid that since it is still draining they may keep it in. How do I feel?? AWESOME! I am not getting fluids or Protein in right now, Maybe 24 oz a day. Love chicken broth. But, not feeling the shakes anymore. I can't even finish an entire one. I am able to walk over a mile and smile. I do have pain occasionally in my stomach but I think it is just my stomach missing the rest of itself.

I am less than 20 hours away from starting the walk from here to losers bench. While driving to work the skinny me in my head that is trying to get out said "Play Beyonce, Love on Top!" So of course I listened. As I was driving and singing to the top of my lungs I started to realized that I have finally put my love for my self on top! I am 35 years old and at my heaviest weighed 280 something. I have put my husband, mother and kids in front of me for years!!!! Tomorrow I am dropping everything and putting myself in place for my own success. That is AWESOME ! So as I drove with tears burning my face I found that the lyrics to this song are not meant for just a man. They were written to for me and you! MARCH 21, 2012 I am excited to be on the final stretch of the pre op experience! Nervous - YEs! Why you ask? Because I am nervous about what the other side of BIG GIRL is out there! Excited??? Hell Yes! But, I am still me and know somethings will change but me being healthy and around for my husband and kids..... PRICELESS! I attached a picture from last year when I completed my first 10k this year I will be 10 days out from Surgery and still will finish it!! God Willing. Thanks you guys for giving the support and encouragement. SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY MARCH SLEEVES!!

HI! I too have locs for about 7 years. I have yet to be sleeved but from my research. Natural hair does not shed like those with chemicals. That being said wait a few months before coloring it. Hope this helps!

March 21st represent! Woo Woo.

Tomorrow I have an appt. with my surgeon. What should I ask him? This is our last time together before my surgery. Any suggestion would be great. If I don't know what to say I may sit there quiet just nodding my head. HELP!

You guys really made my appt. count. I asked: 1. Bougie size? He looked at me and laughed and said that it was a 36 and that no one ever asked! 2. How long would I stay in the hospital? 1 night maybe 2 depending on how I feel.(Did you know my kids wont be there!! May push 2 nights??!!LOL) 3. Drain? Yes, with removal instructions 4. Energy level? May be low can get b-12 shots if needed. 5.How long before I can drive? 1 week 6. Prescriptions prior to admittance? 1 Nausea med to take on the way to hospital. 7. Can i compete in the 10k that I have been training for 10 days post op? YES!!! Hope this helps others because it really helped me!

My information session was 12/21 My first Consult 1/3 Psyc Eval 1/6 NUT Eval 1/13 Approval Letter 1/24 Surgery Date 3/21 This was the first available date at my Dr. Office. My husband insurance with Anthem expires in June due to lay off so I am SUPER BLESSED to have gotten this underway quickly!
