I also know my hormones are out of whack because my labido is way down and that's is just not me. I require sex on a daily basis or I'm a real B!@#* to live with. Lol. Now though not so much and it bothers my hubby because he's out of town 60% of the month so when he's home I'm like umm no!

So I have PCOS and have had it for yrs. I've been on birth control for the last 3 yrs (lo estren24) need less to say I've never had any problems and I actually don't have periods that is until I was 1month post op and 20#'s lighter. I didn't think my drastic weight loss would effect my period so much since I thought the birth control regulated my hormones. Has anyone else had this experience? I take my pills like clock work because I've lost 50+#'s and have 4 kids so I'm good in that department I don't need anymore babies. Every since April though I've either had break through bleeding, spotting, or back to back cycles. It just has me worried that it means my bc won't be as effective. I don't need a surprise baby!!! I did call into my obgyn to see what she thinks. I'm just curious as to others experience.

Any Drs in Louisiana used and Cost??
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to kalex21211's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I love Taylor! I chose him for financial reasons over Dr ballengar and hargroder. I met with Housmann too at OLOL and Dr Taylor's office got back to me the quickest and was super nice. They had my surgery approved in 4 days. I have united health care through the railroad! I can't say enough about Dr. Taylor! -
Any Drs in Louisiana used and Cost??
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to kalex21211's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I loved Dr taylor he was in network and covered 100% with my ins. It took two weeks to schedule the surgery. Dr. Taylor is so down to earth that its hard to even tell he's a surgeon. He doesn't have the cocky arrogant attitude most surgeons have. I am so glad I picked him. He's awesome and soo nice! I had my surgery at Woman's -

How Did You Progress Through The Food Phases?
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to tasherie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I'm suppose to be on full liquids for two weeks but don't see that happening I move to purees after that fot another 2 weeks then soft foods so we will see luckily my bariatric coordinator at the hospital I was at has been awesome so I just email her my questions and she males me feel better. I'm just in shock at how well I'm doing 5days out I expected so much worse I know I should be happy its not but it just has me worrying about my success. -

I Just Got It Done Thursday
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to RachelsREADY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cab- right it terrifies me that the surgery won't work. Im having no issues getting my protein via isopure so that's 40oz of liquid plus my soup is 6oz and my water and juice in between the only time I can tell I had the surgery is if I gulp instead of sip. I'm really hoping that the more solid the food gets the harder it is to eat so much if that makes sense if not ill be fat forever. -
I Just Got It Done Thursday
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to RachelsREADY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Linky- the first 24hrs were tough for me after that I havent needed much in the way of pain meds but I have a high tolerance for pain and the meds. They were shocked that even after diluata (strongest pain med they could give) I was still awake. I take the pain meds at night just to stay on top of it and to not be so sore in the morning but I don't see myself continuing that to much longer. The gas issue depends on the Dr. Mine luckily didn't use much so again after 24 hrs and I started passing it I was good to go. I was in the yard yesterday moving dirt and filling holes. So each person is different. I also find I feel better the sooner I'm up and around. I was walking the halls by 4pm the day of the surgery and I had it at 12pm. (Now I'm just milking it hoping my kids will continue their good behavior lol) -
How Tired Were You In The Weeks Post-Op?
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to Felicity549's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 5 days ago and the hubby just left out of town for work (which is common he works out of town 100%). I have 4 at home 9,7,5 and 3 with no family help. I also homeschool them so they are all with me all day. This is an even crazier week since myself and my daughter are in a wedding Sat (10days post op). So I'm running errands to finish up about that plus taking kids to classes and planning my sisters shower 500 miles away. I think I'm tired but I just haven't had the chance to feel it yet. I think Sunday when the wedding has passed I'll probably sleep all day lol. And I keep telling myself this was the most convienent time to schedule the surgery because I only get busier from here on out. Lol -
I Just Got It Done Thursday
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to RachelsREADY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine Wednesday and I was up and around within an hour the.only thing that kept me down was the nausea but that passed in 24 hrs. I was up so soon because I have 4 little ones to care for and not much help (the hubby works out of town) plus I'd had 4 c sections so this has been easy. I'm more concerned that I'm tolerating yogart and cream soups so well. I can eat 6oz at a time and not feel stuffed or sick. I'm hoping that will change with more solid foods. -
How Did You Progress Through The Food Phases?
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to tasherie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5days out and I'm healing well too. I'm actually concerned that I can eat too much. I had a cup of cream soup with no issues. I've also tolerated a 6oz yogart with no issues. I'm actually starting to get hungry. I've had no issues getting in my protien because I sip on 2 isopure drinks a day. My friend said not to worry it will change when I get to more solid foods that these are sliders and easier to tolerate. I'm just worried at this rate I'll never loose -
I had surgery the 14th and was up and walking about an hour after. I am so excited to have had this done! I'm currently on the full liquid diet and quickly learning that I must learn to sip and not gulp. Lol. My best friend has been a baby spoon to keep my portions small and keep me slow at eating. This recovery has been much better than expected and other than the occasional gulp I can't yet tell I have a smaller stomach. Happy in Louisiana!

Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
Billie Jo Brown Alexander replied to Kim David's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I thought I'd jump in here. I live in LA I even had a consult with her same Dr. I was going to use the same hospital mentioned as well. Now all that being said the Dr. Is excellent one of the best in the country. The hospital on the other hand is a whole other story. My friend is a nurse here and begged me not to use that hospital and if I had to change Dr.'s just so I would go to that hospital. I haven't had my surgery yet but I chose a different Dr and and much better hospital. As for her daughter being an attorney I believe she's telling the truth Louisiana is unique because it still follows napolianic law so to practice here is much harder and unique. This state is very crooked its all about who you know. Welcome to the deep south. This state has even said multiple times it would re-elect a govenor who was found guilty of corruption. Smh. Not to say there aren't some holes but I thought I'd give another Louisiana perspective. I've lived in several different places and traveled all over and can honestly say Louisiana is backwards in a lot. Just my 2 cents -
