  1. I have a bad sinus infection with a sore throat (which is why I'm awake and posting at 1:00). Because I'm still six days preop and do not have to follow a preop diet, I've been eating my usual "sick" foods: applesauce, bananas, spaghetti-o's (yeah, I know, but they slide down a sore, swollen throat), and chicken noodle Soup. On the plus side, I've lost another three pounds. But I know I can't eat nothing but carbs the next time I get sick. While I realize I can have things like sugar-free Jello and pudding, I'm not a big sweets eater. Other than soup, what else works with a sore throat? What do you eat when you're sick?

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

I am just buying NOTHING for now. I can't wait to go shopping in a few months though! Lol, my husband says I won't need to go shopping anyway. I have clothes in every size from 20 down to about 6. I think I might get even more excited to be able to fit into some of that stuff than I will be to buy new. Oh, who am I kidding, I'll be thrilled to buy new smaller things too!!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Oooh, can I join the party too? I'm being sleeved on April 10! Does it still not feel real yet to anyone else?
  4. It really varies by surgeon. I am so relieved my surgeon only requires a 24- hour liquid diet before surgery.

    I'm New Too!

I haven't had my surgery yet, so I can't tell you how recovery is, but my surgery is also scheduled for April 10 so I just eanted to say hi.

    Low Vitamine D Levels

When I started the six-month supervised diet required by my insurance company, my Vitamin D level was 11. I was given a prescription supplement of 50,000 IU D3 once a week for eight weeks. I was then retested and my level was 23. My nutritonist told me it has to be 30 for surgery so I was started again on the prescription D3. I met with my surgeon last week and he told me 30 is a older guideline. He now requires only a 20 to go ahead with surgery. I have my preop testing next week, so I've added 2000 IU D2 each day to the 50,000 IU D3 I take once a week. I'd cry if a low Vitamin D level postponed my surgery.

How Longs Is Your Pre-Op Diet?

I only have to have clear liquids for 24 hours before surgery. Maybe it's because I was required to lose five percent of my body weight before surgery could be scheduled.

    Camping With A Sleeve

My surgery is scheduled for April 10. I also have a camping trip scheduled for Memorial Day weekend. Since that's a little more than six weeks after surgery, by my doctor's instructions, I will be on a "regular" diet. I plan to take Protein drinks with me and just eat a little of whatever everyone else is eating that I can tolerate. By then, I should have an idea of what foods are "safe" for me. I plan to take a care package with some of those foods as well so I will always have something I can eat. Other than that, my only plans are to relax and enjoy the time away with my family.
