You have worked so hard and done an amazing job. Thanks for sharing to inspire us all. From this mom of three, thanks for making this choice, and fighting this battle for your self and your mama. P.S. So excited for next Aug. 1st when I can post, "today was a good day" loved that title -
Dreading The Dmv
shrinkydinkme replied to Tink22-sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go get a new photo when you are close to goal. Go in at that point and tell them that the change you have made makes a new photo necessary, the current one is unrecognizable and causing problems when you have to varify your ID using your liscence. I think it costs about $25 and would be an awesome reward for your hard work and success. I will agree with you that the before pictures are so difficult to do, but must say I am so glad I did them, and nothing fellow sleeve buddies show me, inspires me more. 2nd idea is - Do you have a good friend that would go with you. It always helps me to take a friend when I have to do something difficult. -

I Just Need More Time Right?.... Right?
shrinkydinkme replied to magz010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like the dreaded 3 week stall came a few days early for you. And for many it is also bowel movements. It happens to most people and you will start loosing again. Just keep working your plan, sounds to me like you are doing the right stuff. Search 3 week stall on this sight if you want more info on it. -

Syntrax Nectar Question!
shrinkydinkme replied to MsShaunaMarie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only fruity one I like was the carribean cooler. Also I would blend it in un-iced water first and then add the ice cubes. Found that most protein drinks do not mix as well in liquid that is too hot or too cold. I liked the cappuccino latte for a couple months but now it is too sweet for me. -

Anyone Else Have A Goal Size?
shrinkydinkme replied to SexySlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope to be a size 12. I am also tall 5'10 and at 160lbs in the past I was a size 12. We will see it what happens, I am already down from a size 24 jean to a size 16 and I am sure my body will be different at 160 lbs since has been almost 20 years since I was that weight. I am just trying to enjoy the journey down and excited already for the progress, energy and health I have gained. -
What You Order At Resturants
shrinkydinkme replied to wishfulaimee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can order a scrambled egg with cheese, I was able to eat refried beans, and spicy did not bother me so I could eat chili. Once my husband ordered chili verde (mexican pork in sauce) and because it was so moist I was able to eat it, if I got a soup it was a broth type not a cream. Just sat better in my tummy. Most important for me was to make sure I only ate a tiny (1/4th cup) portion like I would at home, even though a regular serving was given to me. -
120Lbs Unreasonable?
shrinkydinkme replied to CJsmom84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My goal is to loose 150lbs and I am currently down 63, and lost 25 of those pre-surgery. Keep up your good work my biggest regret is I did not loose more in the 6 months of classes and appointments I had to complete to have surgery. -
Socal Vsg Meeting - Saturday Nov. 3Rd
shrinkydinkme replied to iegal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Looking forward to being there -
Hope this gives you a little comfort that you are not alone.... I was sleeved the day after you 284lbs, got stuck at 254lbs and it took over 20 days to loose the next 3 pounds -NOW finally, about a week ago my stall did end and I am back to loosing about a half pound a day. So there is hope, I decided that I was stuck because that was a weight I had been at back in 2007 for quite a long time. Didn't change much to break the stall just kept doing the right stuff like others above have suggested. I am sure there is some life lesson in waiting out a stall and continuing to do the right things but I do not know what it is~

At 2 months I had lost 30 pounds and at my check up they told me it was average. I felt like it was super slow because like you I had lost more faster on previous diets. My husband just kept encouraging me that this time it was staying off. It is not what I expected but looks like I will loose about 10lbs a month. Really it's not that bad and considering that I have energy, can easily get in all needed protein and liquids and tolerate all foods in small amounts. I also think that my age (50) and the regain from my many previous diets may have messed with my metabolism and made it slower. All the more so makes me glad I choose to go through surgery. I knew I was done with the diet failing and could not get myself to do it again.

They found that I had one during surgery and fixed it. Probably the reason I had such terrible acid reflux for years. None since surgery BONUS!

Excited for the continuation of this journey and blessed to have had it so easy. No complications and able to eat everything and meet liquid and Protein requirements. These pants are the one pair I have saved for photos as I travel down to my goal. Thanks to all who have participated on this site to inform, encourage and entertain me. I appreciate you all!

How Long Till I Can Use An Ipad?
shrinkydinkme replied to Bflartey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for me it would have been day 4 .... Pretty much slept my way through the first 3 days, the first 2 I only got up to use the bathroom, shower and walk, day 3 was leaving hospital and getting settled at home. Day 4- I might have been able to do something every half hour for 8 hours straight but even that day I took a nap. It seems silly but getting your liquid, vitamins/medications and protein in each day in the beginning is a time taxing chore! I only sent 1 text the day after surgery to tell those planning to visit not to come. Day 3 I was way better, but still would have resented a commitment I needed to keep every half hour continuously. My surgery was complication free and my pain was minimal -
