Chewable Vitamins Vs. Liquid
cherrytree15 replied to cherrytree15's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Oh okay, I got you. So the taste is what sucks! I actually take them now just because I hate trying to swallow pills. But I'm thinking that could change after surgery as I hear a lot of you saying taste buds change and maybe my stomach won't be able to tolerate them. But if I can take it. I would be willing to suffer through them. I don't much like gummie anything. It just feels all slimmy to me, LOL. -
Got The Vsg Jitters
cherrytree15 replied to cherrytree15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for your responses. Every bit of information helps as the date gets closer. I can take your tips and trips in case I run into any of the issues discussed here. I will be prepared...this is a great forum!!! -
I am 19 days post op and reading all of the do's and dont's. I have been researching for a while now and feel like I am prepared for what is to come. Just when I think I've heard everything someone here posts something that scares the s#$% ot of me. Then as they keep posting, I can see the history of the person and previous surgeries or major issues they may have had that may have contributed to their troubles. The "TUBE" down the throat when I wake up has completely freaked me out. I will have to ask about that upfront. I haven't been overweight all my life, just the last 5 or 6 years. So I am ready for relief. You talk about vomitting, well hell, I do that now because I have a hialtal hernia. You talk about heartburn really bad, check, I've got that too really bad GERD. You talk about energy level, I don't even want to get up in the morning to wash up and get dressed for work. I am completely drained and low energy. Constant aches and pains because I have RA and sleepless nights. So Hmmmmm, I'm thinking it can only go uphill from here. Congrats to all that are being successful and prayers to all of those experiencing issues. I'm just trying to stay focused and keep the jitters to a minimum at some point before surgery, I will stop reading all of these posts. I'm about 84 lbs overweight and while I realize others have had farther to go. This is the worst most miserable time of my life. So I am looking forward to improvement....

Prelude To Recovery, How I Got To Vsg.
cherrytree15 commented on stogger's blog entry in Becoming the me I see through VSG
Thank you so much for sharing this. You are not alone. I'm sure many of us have gone through this. Myself include. I take shots all the time from the people closest to us. My grandmother, "bless her heart", told me I should stop eating before I start rolling out the door. Although, she meant no harm and maybe just her way of alerting me that I was running into a major weight problem. The comment was very hurtful. That's just one of many examples. Anyway, I am so happy for you and wish you the best on your journey. As far as work is concerned, if it starts to stress you too bad, that may be something you have to change to. Maybe your new body image will give you more confidence to move on and get the job you really deserve. Sometimes self image blocks us from the things that we deserve in life. Our low self esteem allows us to put up with things we wouldn't normally accept if we felt better about ourselves. (just a thought). Good luck!!! And Congratulations!!! I've got 18 days to go before surgery. -

@ lacanosafl Thank you so much for your post. I am nervous. But I feel so bad now, I just can't wait to feel better and I keep telling myself that this is the right option. With the RA and the weight it makes it really had to exercise but as the weight comes off that will get easier. How are you feeling? May I ask how much weight you have to loose? How will you do follow ups, etc. (I see you had surgery in Mexico). Were you given specific instructions when you were release? Did you feel okay by the time you had to fly back home? -
Thank you so very much for your post. I am so very greatful that you posted it. I am so miserable with all this weight. But you gave me hope and encouragement. I am 19 days post op and very nervous. I am taking in all the negative things with the positive but am still going through a host of emotions. I have high blood pressure, GERD, a hiatal hernia and RA. I am only 38 year old and I am so tired of living life like this. I am always tired, low energy, aches and pains. I also don't have very much support. I'm not sure if people are scared of my success or scared that I will be seriously injured or that'll I'll die (I've had a couple people say that too). None the less it is not very encouraging. Besides the road that I am traveling now is close to death. I just want my life back, my health back. It will be great to look good. But I don't even so much care about that, I just want to "FEEL" good. Anyway, I've been nervous and your post encourged me. Did you have any complications at all? I see you had your surgery in Mexico? Just curious, how did you follow up in the States? Again thank you!!!

Okay so I have just gotten a surgery date for the VSG. I am excited and nervous. I don't have many supporters which just makes things a little worse. But in the long run it's my decision. I am low BMI (37). I am 5'2 and weigh 206lbs. I've made the mistake of mentioning to 2 or 3 close friends and relative what my plans were and of course they respond by saying you are not big enough to have such a surgery. Meanwhile, I am only 37 years old, I have GERD, a hiatal hernia and high blood pressure. So the health issues and the fact that I can't walk up a flight of stairs without gasping for air are enough for me to have made this decision. Technically I am 75 - 80 lbs overweight and while that might not seem like a lot to some, I am short so it's tough on my heart. Anyway, this forum has been very helpful today. I've been reading often before I registered and you have all been great! I'd like to know if anyone here experienced sagging skin after weight lose. I here that toning and drinking Water helps with skin elasticity. I'd also like to know how much weight came off within the first weeks of surgery. I guess dropping it off so fast concerns me. Thank you all in advance for your responses.
