You look amazing. Congratulations! -
Thank you!

OMG! I am so anxious and stressed out, this has been a long journey, almost a year of research and then a cancelled surgery in Mexico. I just wanted to feel safe and have a Dr close by that I can turn to when necessary. Now almost another year later after diet and nutrition, tests and psych visits my paperwork was submitted to Cigna OA Plus for approval. This nail biting experience is worst than the process. Fingers crossed, toes crossed and prayers going up waiting for an approval. I need an approval. Can't sleep or focus, I just am so anxious and nervous!

@@Chris Thank you.

I am so happy and so thankful!!!!! I got approved today, my surgery date is May 23rd. I thought my surgeon submitted paperwork last Wed but he didn't, I was disappointed with the delay. I find out that they submitted on Friday and it only took 48 hours for them to approve. I am soooooo HAPPY! Thanks to all that listened to my whining, I'm sure there will be more whining to come, but at least I will be doing it from the losers bench!!

So, this is it....in less than 12 hours, it's my turn!

I'm so happy all. I got approved today! I guess now I will truly see the struggle and know if I will be strict or some where in the middle on my journey! In any event, I will always be here looking to everyone for support and encouragement! -

Awwww no shame don't hold your head. It just kinda sound like you were upset because folks were judging you but I did get the gist of your post and it's good to know that everyone falls short. This was a great topic, thanks for posting it. -

Hello, it sounds like there is a bit of guilt in this message. I am not yet sleeved and I am awaiting surgery but the tone of your message sounds like I feel when I over indulge in my food choices and then feel bad about it. Don't beat yourself up, if you have eaten things that are not necessarily on the program that's okay. It is a hard road to travel and I don't think people are trying to be perfect, nor do I think that anyone expects you to be. The bottom line is that everyone here is trying. Everyone doesn't gain weight the same way or lose it the same. I have found this site to be very supportive. When I am on the losers bench I will be one of those to try to stick to healthy options because like you "sound", I am an emotional eater. I had regular therapy sessions to help me realize that I can have fun and enjoy life without everything being a reason to eat. I can be sad, angry without stuffing something in my mouth. Until the mental part is conquered and we figure out why "food" has been so important to us, no tool will be enough to help us conquer the addiction, we must first address the mental root. If your choices are working for you then Kudos! But if you are struggling and afraid that you are seeing familiar habits reach out for support. That's what the Forum is for. But don't be so judgmental of the folks who are making a life style change, everyone is different but I believe that we all support each other. Good luck to you on your continued success. -
I've been doing the same thing. My paperwork went in on Wednesday. I am confident and I think it will be approved but I have been psyching myself out the same way you are doing now. I think we are thinking too much, lol. What's to be will be and I am attempting to talk you into a calm state so that I will be calm as well, lol lol lol. It's easier said than done. This process is making me anxious. I have called the insurance company to check that they received it. I am hoping for a fast turn around and I wish the same for you.

Thank you all for the encouragement, everyone. I had to do a 3 month diet. I had already done 3 months before with my PCP but my surgeon said that my PCP did not properly document my weight loss the way insurance companies want to see it, so I had to do it all over again with their nutritionist before he would submit it to make sure it will be approved. Although I am on pins and needles, I do feel positive that it will go through. Has anyone else been recently approved or awaiting approval?

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval
cherrytree15 replied to JacobsMommy's topic in Insurance & Financing
My stuff gets submitted to Cigna tomorrow. I has the 3 month wait period. My surgeon seems to be listed as preferred bariatric provider so I am hoping this helps. I'm so anxious and getting stressed. I am confident that it will be approved quickly, I'm going to stay positive. Pray got me folks! -
OMG the waiting us driving me mad. I'm so anxious and going through so many emotions. I've got 57 days before my surgeon submits my approval request to my insurance company. I just want to get sleeved and get it over with. It seems ssssoooooo far away. I'm just trying to be patient but it's hard. Sorry, just needed to vent.

Thanks, I started in the gym last two weeks. Stopped caffeine which was hard as heck, but I'm excited. Just anxious and a bag of nerves all at the same time. I just got a CPAP machine for the Apnea. My surgeon wanted to start that therapy. I've got 53 days left. It's been a long road.
-
@mtnhomeeee, congratulations! I can't wait until I can say that.
-
Yes it is brutal. I try to be excited and optimistic but is just causes so much anxiety. The sleep apnea doesn't help as I can't sleep most the time and this ask thing has not been affective yet. I know I'm close but arrrgggghhhh it's so frustrating.

Hello All, I am scheduled for sleeve in TJ on April 16. I have a great surgeon and am looking forward to surgery day with confidence. I am wondering if anyone can share their day of surgery stories with me in regards to Pre Op Testing (if you were sleeve in Mexico). What tests were preformed and how long did it take before you were actually on the surgery table getting your surgery done. Just curious. Any information would help. Thanks All!!!

I am scheduled for the Sleeve on April 16. I went through many emotions with fear being the first. Well I am past the fear and just now very ready and excited to get it over with now. I would love to get advice from all of you who have already gone through this. I will take any advice on what to do to make my recovery easier. Tips and tricks on any foods that may have helped or harmed your recovery during the first six weeks. Advise on how to avoide loose skin. Anything you would like to share is welcome. Thank you all! -

Thank you so much. I'm trying to get as much info as possible to avoid any issues that others may have encountered. It helps so much to listen to the advice that others can give. I am almost exactly your starting body weight and BMI, so I will continue to read your post to check your progress. -
Any April sleevers?
cherrytree15 replied to sherbert5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hoorrrrraaaayyyy! Hi April Sleevers. I'm April 16, in MX. 5'2, 205 lbs. I just want to get it over with, I have tried MANY other things and I am just miserable. I want to be healthy and right now, I'm not. Just bloated and disgusted. Funny thing is people are like your not that big. Really? Cause my BMI is 37.5, I have high blood pressure and sleep apnea. So thanks but I want to take control now before it gets any worse. According to the Dr.'s, I am Obese - Class 2 -
Uhhmmm I've enjoyed reading all the posts from the low BMI's I'm Scheduled for April 16th. My BMI says I'm class 2 Obesity even though I may not be that big too others. However, I don't want to wait until I'm morbidly obease to get a handle on this. I've had problems with weight my hold life. The gym, diets all that stuff has only been a short term solution for me. So, may I ask what kind of complications you had. Did you have other medical issues that caused you a problem? Did you leak?

I am pre-op and just gathering information. I have been wondering something. Why do so many people use the chewable vitamins instead of liquid vitamins. Is it because your surgeons reccommended it and feel this is the best option? Is it because your new stomach can't tolerate the liquid vitamin? I would think the liquid form would be easier going down. Could someone shed some light on this? Thanks!
