You look amazing. This was awesome! Thanks for you post. My stats are pretty much identical to yours. My surgery is two weeks away. I'd just like to ask when you were cleared for full exercise? And how did you feel physically when you started abdominal exercises or whatever? I don't want to break anything, bust any stitches, lol. -
Finally got my out of pocket fees today. I only have to pay $30.85 for the Endoscopy and $287.32 for the surgeon's fee. I am so thankful!

ANYONE UNDER 200 ON THE DAY OF SURGERY?
cherrytree15 replied to CrisH64's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jdillion our stats are similar. I'm 5'2 205lbs. My surgery is now on the 21st. I'm beyond excited. I have been researching for 3 years. I am looking forward to feeling healthy and having more energy. I feel pretty crappy now. The weight makes me tired and Just unmotivated. -
Hey ladies, I am still a per op and I am going through all of theist just getting prepared for upcoming surgery. My surgery date is May 12. I have read many post about loose skin, sagging breast and saggy vijay jays. For those of you with sagging skin do you think it is a combination of genetics, starting weight age, lack of protein intake and or exercise? For those of you who have been successful with skin, what do you think you have done that helped that issue? I just like to take the combined efforts of all to help that situation a little. I mean watching shows like the biggest loser, etc., they lose a significant amount of weight in a very short period of time but all seem to do well with skin. Advise. Thanks.

Thank you all! This information is very helpful. I'm hoping to try to do what I can for the skin. I really don't want to have plastics. It helps to hear that there is hope. I got nervous when aides were talking about saggy vajayjays. That worries me more than thigh and belly skin.

ANYONE UNDER 200 ON THE DAY OF SURGERY?
cherrytree15 replied to CrisH64's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow I'm happy I found you guys. I am in the same boat. I started at 202 and have been on the preop diet for 6 days but I have gained 4 lbs, not sure how that happened. I am 5'2 and always have people tell me I'm not big enough to be considering this. Well I have sleep apnea, gerd, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a hiatal hernia. So people have no idea how I suffer everyday with all these weight related issue. I feel like crap everyday and have little to no energy. Don't let anyone discourage you. You will be ok. I would love to here update on your surgery and recovery. I have 2 weeks to go. I'm not in the "I'm not hungry phase though". I'm still always hungry which is why I know I need this sleeve. Liquid diet has helped me none. -
Wow 18 lbs down already. That's awesome, I am on day 5 and its getting better, more mental than anything. The headaches have stopped now its just me doing everything but thinks about food.
-
You are so right!! I feel like I'm losing my best friend. I'm in therapy for the eating issue as I am an emotional eater. I know it will get easier and I am forcing myself to go through the struggles now so that when I am finally sleeved, I will get through that initial phase easier. It helps when I talk to people that understand because my family just thinks I'm over reacting. Thanks or the encouraging words and support. I needed it!!
-
I hope it gets better. I have also stopped drinking caffeine as that makes me hungrier so I'm sure my body is just going through it. My surgery date is May 10th. I just popped some Kale in the oven with a little Olive oil and baked them dry. NOT BAD at all, it gives crunch like a chip. I know I just have to mentally toughen up. I literally cried earlier, lol but it made me feel better. Pray for me please. I know I can do it because the alternative of being obese forever is much worse. It's just NOT easy!!!!

I posted in the other forum about this but I will post here too because this is tough! I am glad I found this thread. I came on today looking for just this. I am on my two week pre op diet. This is day 3 and I am struggling. I want to run out into the street and scream to the top of my lungs, lol. It's been really hard for me. I have locked myself in my room. It's not physical hunger, it's head hunger. I just want some bread or some chips or a cookie, lol. But I know I can eat it. The protein has me satisfied and not physically hungry but I want some kind of snack. Damn have I been sleeved already, i keep asking myself, lol lol lol. Im stressed out and this is when i would normally stuff my face. Typing and talking to you all is taking my mind off of it and i feel better expressing it now. At least I know what head hunger feels like before hand. I'm sure by tomorrow or so I will feel better. Arrrrrggggghhhh! Good luck everyone!

What is a typical pre-op diet and how long does it last?

It is so refreshing to hear all of your stories about mates supporting you, etc. I'm afraid that my story is not so fairy tale like. I was in a very difficult marriage and my husband was diagnosed with a personality disorder 6 years into our marriage., There were so many ups and downs that the stress caused me to eat and that is the way I dealt with my emotions. Over the last 5 years my weight went from 144 to 212. Along with the weight gain came sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, a hiatal hernia and GERD. WTH? Who new being fat would lead to all this. I'm only 5'1 feet tall so it has caused a strain on me and I just feel horrible most days and fake my way through it. Well after being told that all I do is sit around and eat cupcakes all day and told that I was not sexy anymore, I left my husband and decided to take control of my life. I am turning 40 tomorrow and wanted to find myself again and get back to the person I recognize and not this stranger I stare at in the mirror everyday. Surgery is scheduled for 5/12 and I AM SO EXCITED! I wish everyone here luck!

Had my first negative spectator comment
cherrytree15 replied to Kindle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You know, it doesn't matter what you do in life, people will always have negative comments. Why do people feel the need to give opinions you didn't ask for. You don't need anyone to be proud of you as long as your proud of yourself. And that the issue, most of us spend so much time as "the fat girl", that people get used to us placing more value on others than ourselves. When you are a beautiful person on the inside and then the outside beauty starts to shine, people get intimidated by the new confidence you have and the new value you place on yourself. Screw her and the negativity. She can just go kick rocks. Congratulations. -
Pissed at my office insurance person
cherrytree15 replied to Jersrose43's topic in Insurance & Financing
That's sucks. Sorry to hear that. People don't realize that when they halo ass do their jobs, they are playing with your life, future and health. I hope the surgeon is a good one, because how the hell do you screw that up? Isn't this what they do all day everyday. Surely you no better than to submit a half ass file. My surgeon's office wouldn't even schedule time with the coordinator to discuss submission until I had all documents completed. I hope things work out. -
Hey, there is no way around the letter. Maybe try to have a candid conversation with your Doctor. I don't know what your stats are, but on your next visit, I would just. Say look at me. Have you ever been obeses? Do you have any idea what it's like to be obese and to live life this way? Do you have any idea about the struggle I have with being like this when I don't want to? Talk about how you went with out insurance for so many years and have tried all you can think of. If you have any comorbidies talk about them to. Talk about quality of life and being allowed to correct your previous bad decisions. If you can tug on emotions, maybe you have a shot. Good luck!
