Back to work :-(
cherrytree15 replied to sleeved215's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It actually is illegal and you should be getting at least 30 mins and two 15s. Hopefully you can just use some time to sip and work if you don't get a REAL break. If you get dehydrated and pass out its not helping anyone. -
Girl yes, I am sick of the drain also. ARRRGGGHHH it is so hard to shower with this thing hanging out my body. I am so ready for full liquids too!!!!

Hey is blessed. How are you doing? Is all ok?

Emotional roller coaster.
cherrytree15 replied to Nikki Sparks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Relax be easy it should get better focus on recovery and not what you can't eat. I had those emotions before surgery but none now. I'm 5 days post op. you have to find other places to focus your attention. Read, window shop, movies, something other than what you think you've lost. Find new interests and new ways to spend time with your family outside of the dinner table. Don't be sad, I know it's hard, we all know. But you are on your way. -
Gaining immediately

Fluid it's normal. It will go away in a couple of days. -
Sh3iz, follow your surgeons instructions. Everyone is different. Do what he needs you to do. I was on clear liquids only this first week but some others were cleared for protein shakes. Just get clear instructions from him and you will be fine.

How is it going jesswls? How are you feeling? Today is day 5. My incision soreness is starting to go away. I bent over this morning and didn't want to jump from a bridge. I am 13 lbs down, still on clear liquid until Wed. I get my drain removed on Friday and will talk to doctor about exercise. I'm seeing a bit of bat wing like arms and am concerned. My weight seems to be dropping off quickly. I have lost that much in trying over the last few years. I need to go to my doc this weak and have blood pressure meds checked. Feeling a bit light headed this morning. I am getting in a lot of liquids and not hungry so I'm thinking it may be my pressure. Over all feeling good. How is everybody else doing?

Any May 20th surgeries out there?
cherrytree15 replied to teemarie1078's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I walk a lot, so I just paged my surgeon, he said I can take them off if I'm walking, wooohoooo! I hated them, they were so damn tight it was making me hot. I start full liquids on Wed. I get to hv soups and pudding and watered down grits. I can't wait. Not hungry but tired of liquid. I hope my boobs get smaller, lol can't put on bra, too uncomfortable. Now if I could just gt rid of this drain things would be great, lol lol. -

Does anyone else have compression stockings? How long did you have to where? ARRRGGGHHH they are annoying me! -
Good morning all. I am now 4 days post up. Not as bad as I expected. I've been walking 1/2 mile a day. I'm gonna shoot for a whole mile this morning. Still have drain until next Friday. Trying to get fluids in. Ujury chicken protein has been awesome. 26 grams per 8 ounces. Herbal tea, lots of ice and water has been my thing. I realized yesterday that I now hate sweets! The antibiotic meds are really sweet, don't like them. Heating pad has been wonderful. I pooted for the first time last night (TMI, BUT IT WAS AWESOME! Still sore in the abdomen but everyday it gets better. I hate the compression socks. now I can take them off all day and only put them on when I sleep. Uhhhmmmm I think that's it for now. Oh 10lbs down. 2 lbs from pre op and 8 lbs post op.

Awesome! What are you doing in between walking. Reading and watching TV, laying down? How are you feeling? I hv a lot of energy, except when I take pain meds at night, then it's lights out. Lol
-
It was Wed.
-
Lol no. I'm still home but since I'm always working, I'm having a hard time finding a reason to walk. I just want to make sure that my mile a day is enough. I don't want any clots or complications. But when I'm not working I'm just lying here. Bcuz I'm still really sore.
-
I'm only two days out. I am up to a little over 1/2 mile. I break this up between morning and evening. But since I am normally at work, I'm a little stir crazy. Pain meds help the soreness but make me sleepy so when I'm not walking, I'm laying down. I just sat in a chair for 30 mins. Very uncomfortable.

How much walking are you all doing? And what are you doing, when u are not walking? The soreness makes me want to lie down.

Any May 20th surgeries out there?
cherrytree15 replied to teemarie1078's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes so many have so many different requirements. At the end of week 2. My doctor would like me to focus on light strength training instead of cardio. He says I can lift under 20 lbs. he says the weight will come off. His concern is to build muscle that burns fat, not lose muscle and fat. Although I'm getting all of my walking in I have to lie down frequently, so I hope I am walking enough. I'm trying to take all the fluids in, but it is challenging. I am so gonna enjoy that shower this evening. Keep it up folks, we can do this! Incisions are sooooooo sore! -

First dr visit today. They checked my drain and removed bandages. I got clearance to take a shower today...wooohoooo!. Belly button incision stings like "aaarrrrgggghhhh". Drain wont come out until may 30 (damn drain). But so far so good. Looking forward to next week for full liquids! Walked 1/2 mile this morning. -
5 days out... too nervous?
cherrytree15 replied to Sleevie_Nicks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow how much weight do you need to loose, you've got a bigger bougie. I'm so happy that you are doing well. That's Awesome! Where are you located? -
I'm sorry to hear that. It's tough in the beginning but we will be ok as the weeks pass. Yeah the incision pain has been a beast for me as well but I know tomorrow will be better than today and its goes on. Keep your head up. We are all here for each other.

Hey all. I am doing well. No nausea, no real pain. My abdomen is just VERY sore like I excercised too damn long. I just woke up from a great nap. I haven't slept that good in years. I feel awesome now. I walked a total of 1 mile today. I just went real slow. I have no trouble with keeping water or broth down. So far so good, I'm only 2 days post op, so I will keep you guys posted.

Definitely not easy! I've been doing well. Just took off my compression socks for an hour or so to rest my legs. The hernia removal chest pain was the worst for me. I don't have any other real pain. My abdomen is just SORE like I've done 10,000 push ups. I walked out side 3/5 mile. The walking helps. -

Awesome! Good Luck! -
I have soreness, really sore but no pain. The drain has been ok. Today it not even filling up, so that's good. I walked outside this morning and drank some Ujury protein.

Hi yes I can keep water down. I drank my first 4 oz of Ujury chicken protein today. No throwing up. I was a little nauseous after i woke up from anesthesia but no more. I went outside this morning and walked 1/5 of a mile. So far so good. Just really saw in the abdomen. Other than that I'm ok. -
I got to go home same day, so I think that made me more comfortable. I'm just horribly sore now but no pain...
