Week 3 Stall....now What?
Crystal Woods replied to DDFinn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I finally broke my week 3 stall a couple days ago. I knew that I wasn't getting in enough calories, protein, etc. so I upped my calorie and protein intake for 2 days in a row and (BAM!) I dropped 3 lbs this week so far. I know that I shouldn't weigh everyday but if I had that much will power I wouldn't have needed this surgery! LOL! -
Losing Too Quick! Am I Crazy For Complaining?
Crystal Woods replied to kenbr14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Apparently that came out more abrasively than I intended... It wasn't meant to be offensive. I was just letting you know that I did know better than to try to race with weight loss. As far as the bold part... I am unfamiliar with the phrase toungue in cheek... ? Sorry if I offended you! -
Losing Too Quick! Am I Crazy For Complaining?
Crystal Woods replied to kenbr14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Apparently I need to clarify that the race you to the finish statement was a JOKE... I am not an idiot and wouldn't sacrifice my health to try to beat someone to my goal weight. If I was able to do that I wouldn't have needed this surgery to begin with. This topic is about losing weight too quickly therefore I thought it would be funny to say lets race since my weight loss is really close to his and we have the same surgery date... -
Could Very Sore Muscles Mean Protein Deficiency?

Any walk in clinic can run a bloodwork panel fairly cheap. I would definitely have my magnesium and potassium levels checked. Good Luck. -

Losing Too Quick! Am I Crazy For Complaining?
Crystal Woods replied to kenbr14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. I was also sleeved on 03/01. I have lost 41 lbs but I am a chick not a dude. I lost 19 lbs pre-op and I lost the remaining 22 lbs post surgery. I don't think you are losing too fast. I have heard that it slows drastically after 3 months. Keep up the great work! My goal is 118 lbs from start weight so I have 77 lbs to go! Race you to the finish line!?! -
Eating Is A Chore Now!
Crystal Woods replied to Sleevorama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. I have tried the G2 but it isn't as good as the regular gatorade. It has that artificially sweet taste I hate. I grew up playing fastpitch softball through college and have always been a gatorade addict... It's all I would drink if I could fall in love with the G2....lol -
Eating Is A Chore Now!

Thank you everyone for your encouragement. I started this morning with a protein shake which I am still working on 2 hours later...lol. I am aware that I need to get the fluids and protein in. It is just really really hard for me right now. Anything with a significant amount of sugar makes me feel horrible, I have been trying grilled chicken which is the meat that my tummy tolerates best but still hurts. I just don't feel good after I eat. Whether it is just a few bites or I try to squeeze in several ounces. I get to where I gag and heave and I feel light headed... I crave fluids but it hurts when I drink them. My tummy tolerates gatorade much better than water but I don't want to stay on gatorade because of the calories... -
Eating Is A Chore Now!
Crystal Woods replied to Sleevorama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so glad I found this topic. I had surgery on 03/01 so I am 26 days out. I am basically at the stage where I can eat normal food if I chew very well and eat small bites. The problem is that I don't want to eat. Nothing sounds appealing. The only thing I am remotely interested in eating is a salad loaded with veggies and that is one of the only things I am still not supposed to have. I probably don't eat 400 calories a day, I haven't lost any weight in a week (yes I know 3 week stall and starvation mode etc), and my stomach stays full of gas despite gas-x strips and rinitidine for the reflux. Most days I start off feeling ok but by noon I am exhausted. I bought these bariatric Vitamins but they are too hard on my stomach so I am forcing myself to eat some of my kids gummy vitamins each day. My muscles are sore and crampy from my lack of potassium but I can't get the potassium pill down and my stomach refuses to hold a banana. I want to start Zumba but I get dizzy just standing up. I am getting about 30 - 35 oz of Fluid in a day on most days but others maybe only 10 oz. I don't regret my sleeve at all... I just want to figure out how to work it better... -
Hi sleeve buddies. I was sleeved 03/01/2012 by Dr. Almanza in Tijuana MX. Including pre-op diet I am down 38 pounds. Weight loss since surgery date is 19 lbs. Good Luck on your upcoming sleeves.

I don't know if it will make you feel any better or not but I have shown a 1 lb gain and then stall for 4 days now. I am 22 days out from surgery and it sucks but it will keep going. I would try not weighing for a week. I have to weigh everyday because of fluid retention and some heart problems... Good Luck.

Does Anyone Have Any Regrets?
Crystal Woods replied to Dizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks post - op today. I have struggled a bit but there is so much impowerment in not feeling hungry all the time and knowing I have control over what I eat and how much. I don't regret it at all! -
3 Weeks Po And I Can Easily Eat 4 Oz Of Soft Foods?
Crystal Woods replied to something2think's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HI. I will be three weeks out on Thursday. I can eat 4 oz of pureed fruit or something similar but if I do I get that over ate feeling. I am also hyper paranoid about stretching my new stomach so when I think I might feel full (could be gas) I stop eating. I am not getting in enough calories, water, protein, etc as I should but I think I am doing pretty good. Right now I am focusing on changing my overall eating habits and not just how much I eat. I would think that the size of bougie your doctor used would make a difference in how much you can eat...? -

I Can't Figure Out What The Correct Balance Is...
Crystal Woods posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Calories, Protein, Vitamins, fluids.... UUUGGGGHHH! I am going to list what I am eating daily right now and YES I am aware that the calories are probably too low, not enough fluids, etc, etc. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and am in the mushies stage. Breakfast 8 oz of Water with 1/2 packet Protein powder (the whole pack is 23 grams protein)... it takes a couple hours to get it all down... lunch Large tablespoon of cottage cheese Large tablespoon of pureed canned fruit (usually peaches) Snack 4 - 8 oz water dinner Large tablespoon of something pureed such as tuna, shredded chicken with cheese, or spaghetti (none of these have made my stomach feel good ...) Freeze pop before bed At some point during the day I take a large bariatric chewable Vitamin... 2 major problems: food is relatively unappealing to me with the exception of steak and salad which I can't have and I feel very full for a long time and if I sip water with my meal it flushes me out immediately and severly... -

Crystal Woods replied to Crystal Woods's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone for the advice. I had my surgery self-pay in Mexico... I am not sure if I can get a script from there or not and unfortunately I do not have insurance. I was hoping for an over the counter cure... Guess I will call the surgeon today and see what he can do... -
Finally Booked For March 2Nd!
Crystal Woods replied to ShannonH's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Shannon, It was great meeting you as well! How are you feeling now that we are a week out? The gas pain for me is pretty much gone. I am struggling with anything but liquids so still sticking with those. I am down to 198 so finally back in the 100's! Hooray. -
I am around 209 right now (before pre-op liquid diet I was 228). My goal from here is 99 lbs total weight loss. I am 5' 0" soooo a shorty!
