  1. Sooo I was at the vitamin shop earlier getting some essential oils and I happened upon the Biotin - I grabbed a bottle of the 1000mcg capsules. The bottle says 1 a day, so should I stick with that or should I do 2? Anybody have any insights/experience?

    Biotin?

    Doo gro?
  3. Visiting Onderland for the night... She'll send me back in the morning but at the moment I'm 199...

Pole Dancer On America's Got Talent

This is by FAR the funniest thing I have ever seen! And I'm not talking about her performance, that was fantastic, I'm talking about the bit with Nick Cannon at the end... I LMAO!
  5. *le sigh* Onderland is a biatch... She let me visit for a day but then she gave me the boot...

    Super Saturday Weigh In

That's fantastic! Welcome to the losers bench! Just keep in mind that the more you have to lose, the faster it comes off, so as you get smaller your loss may start to slow. It doesn't happen to everyone but it can.

    Super Saturday Weigh In

202 this morning... I've been weebling between 202-207 for a month, I hit 199 mid-week but alas, onderland is a tease... Going back to basics starting today to try and break this never ending stall so hopefully next week I'll have some solid movement to report

    Drinking

I didn't attempt alcohol until about 3mos post op but I was told to avoid it for a year. That said, I probably wouldn't attempt it so soon after surgery, but its your body so if you do decide to drink, just listen to your body. I definitely wouldn't attempt anything harder than a glass of wine.
  9. I don't but it should be pretty easy to find. Try the skin care section

    Just Sleeved 6/14

You didn't wake up one morning suddenly fat, and you're not going to wake up one morning suddenly skinny. Like gaining the weight, losing it takes time. Be patient and keep doing what you're doing and it will come off
  11. My cousin asked me to post a before and after to my FB so I thought I'd share with you all too
  12. Has anyone else discovered that they have no sliders? I haven't been looking for mine, and I'm glad to know I don't have any, but with everyone talking about sliders all the time I just assumed they were normal. I've tried popcorn and can only eat 2-3 handfuls before I'm full, cheetos never appealed to me pre-op let alone post-op but I assume they'd have a similar effect, I've had baked Lays and about 5-10 chips and I'm done.. Again, I'm glad that I don't appear to have any at 5mos out, I just find it odd that it seems to be so common. I guess I'm just the odd ball out?

    No Sliders?

Again, I'm not, I was merely sharing an observation.

    No Sliders?

Oh I'm not trying, trust me. I was just asking if anyone else had noticed they didn't have any

    Hard Labor Work Post Op

I don't do manual labor, but I can tell you that you're more prone to heat exhaustion and heat stroke due to dehydration post op. I've been experiencing a serious sensitivity to the heat this summer since getting sleeved. I typically can't go outside before about 4 or 5PM, and I've always loved summer/the heat etc..

    Vsg Vs. Ds

My weight loss is going great! I started pre op at 278, this morning I was 203. I've been bobbing back and forth between 203 and 206 for about 3 weeks now but even still, 75lbs is a lot to lose in 5 months so I have no complaints. I can eat whatever I want, in smaller quantities of course, but i typically stick to the Protein first rule and stay away from carbs.

    Vsg Vs. Ds

I'm confused as to what the ds is? I also did plenty of research and was initially slated for the rny because I thought that was the only one my insurance covered, but when i found out it covered the sleeve too I did my research and made my decision based on that. I'm so glad I decided to go with VSG, because for me and my lifestyle it really was the best option.
  18. Maybe its the clothes? I think we can all agree that the clothing selection before wasn't nearly as flattering as it is now. It's like clothing designers think big people like flowered prints pastels... Just a thought. I know I'm definitely more fashionable now than I was, and I've always dressed nice, its just that now i dress nicer.
  19. I havent noticed any difference in the way I'm treated, except by those around me. They keep telling me how great I look and how proud of me they are. Those are the only people that matter anyway, right?
  20. Have you guys seen this? I was watching GMA this morning and they were talking about an endoscopic procedure that reduces the size of your stomach, I think they called it a tube or hose procedure? Supposedly its for people who only need to lose 25-50lbs?
  21. I went to NH for my best friend's wedding and I gotta say that I had an AMAZING time! Sleeve wise I was very, very bad... I drank, I smoked (I was drinking, it happens) I ate food smothered in rich creamy sauces, I savored wedding hordevours, tasted a bite of wedding cake, and danced my much smaller a$$ off! I actually did better with the food thing than I thought I would though - I stayed away from the pastas and breads and most of the sweets, and focused mainly on the Proteins and veggies, even if they were prepared in the least healthy way possible, I did the best I could with the options in front of me. Everything in moderation though, right? The best part of my trip was seeing my ex for the first time in 5 years. He's gained the 80lbs I've lost since pre-op and when he saw me in my LBD (pics to come soon) his jaw dropped. That was all I needed And of course he told me he felt bad for the way things ended, though I'm *pretty* sure it was because his new girlfriend isn't half as attractive as me and has a face only a mother could love. It's mean, I know, but it makes me feel better damnit! LOL Anyways, great trip! I'll post pics as soon as they're sent to me
  22. I didn't... And I also didn't mention that i made out with the incredibly hot DJ I think its safe to say Stella's got her groove back
  23. I was sleeved 1/20 - not quite 5mos post op.

    Syncope, Possible Seizure

I suffered from syncope even before surgery - it sounds to me like your bp was low and when you stood your heart rate dropped, and then you dropped. Normally when either your bp or your heart rate drop, the other rises to compensate. When that doesn't happen you pass out. According to my cardiologist dehydration is the most common cause. Let us know what your surgeon says!
