Lilee84 replied to Stacey Nicole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought about getting a tattoo on the inside of my wrist (In white ink so its discreet) that says "VSG 1/20/12 - No NSAIDs, No ASAs, No blind NG" -

Look at you go girly! You're all sorts of shrinking! Where in Fl are you heading? -
Thanks! I had my blood work done 2 weeks ago at the ER and they said everything looked good, and I just did my B12 injection this weekend, but I'll definitely have my Dr check my labs again.

1 Month Follow-Up Today.. Any Questions For The Dr?
Lilee84 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've got my 1 month today at 2:30 - Anybody have any questions they want me to ask while I'm there? -
I have my 1 month follow-up today at 2 and I'll be asking this question. I'm dying to get back in the gym!

I was thinking it might be fun to shake it up a bit in here... On another forum I used to frequent we had fun things like Flame Free Friday Confessions, Too Cute Tuesdays, WTF Wednesdays or Wine & Whine Wednesdays, Unpopular Opinion Thursdays or Thankful Thursdays... And they were so much fun! What do you guys think?

I'd be interested in the 14s... Can you PM me please? -
I'm out of my orange Gatorade G2 so I asked my coworker to grab me a large Hi-C from McD's when he went over there. I took a couple sips and went to put it into MyFitnessPal - Did you know a large Hi-C has 360 calories? That's freaking ridiculous! That's like 1/2 of what I normally take in! Needless to say I dumped it down the drain, and now I'm thirsty. Damn you McDonalds! How do you make even a drink bad for you! I learned a valuable lesson today though... Everything you put in your mouth has the potential to derail you, no matter how benign it may seem.

Holy Freaking Calories Batman!
Lilee84 replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've see them but haven't braved them... Maybe I'll try the margarita. MoonSiren - I have a cabinet full of stuff (see pic) that my coworkers affectionately refer to as "La Bodega" but nothing in there appealed to me. I really wanted an ice cold orange Hi-C. -
I've been craving it for weeks but every time I go to the store they're out... I finally found it today and I'm eating some now and I'm curious, is there any nutritional value to it?

I hate pills (hence why I opted for injectible B12) so I use Implanon. It's an implant in my arm that's good for 3 years. It can be taken out sooner than 3 years, but since I got it last year after I stopped breast feeding, and we're not supposed to get KU for at least 2 years post-op, it works out perfectly! Definitely talk to your Dr about your options!

Did The Dr Really Set My Goal For 100Lbs?

I haven't been a slow loser, and from what I gather there's really no way to tell how you'll lose as we all lose at different rates. BUT.... Slow and steady wins the race baby! I'd rather be the tortoise than the hare! -
Need Comebacks For "easy Way Out" Crack
Lilee84 replied to gmanbat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't experienced it either yet, but that's not to say I won't. I would challenge them to live like they're sleeved for a week. I'd put a sleeved persons portion of food and 80oz of water in front of them and tell them to survive on 3 meals that size per day and drink all the fluids in a day, then have them ride my 8 miles every night with me, tell them to get up and go to the gym in the morning with me, and have them do it for a week straight, then ask them how "easy" that was. -
When you have surgery you go under general anesthesia. When that happens, your bowels and your bladder go to sleep. You probably don't know it, but they catheterized you at some point after your anesthesia. It sounds like your bladder hasn't fully woken up. Just keep trying - you'll get there. And welcome to the losers bench!

Thanks! I baked it and sprinkled a little parmesan cheese on top. Deee-licious!

I had my protein while I was waiting for the squash to cook.

I went to Target and got one of those chicken salad snacks, the one with chicken salad, carrots, crackers, and grapes. The chicken salad had waaaaayyyy too much celery in it and the carrots just weren't working so I'm currently enjoying grapes and crackers. The only thing missing is the cheese and wine!

I 2nd this question! I'm dying to have a salad!

I'm going off memory but this was my pre-op liquid diet from my surgeon. There was only 1 non-liquid meal per day allowed and it was very specific. Obviously you'll have to modify it but this is what I remember. Breakfast: 8oz Protein shake 6oz non-fat milk or non-fat yogurt Multivitamin Snack: 8oz Fiber drink 8oz Fluid (green tea, Water, gatorade, Powerade, Vitamin water, crystal light) Lunch: Small salad with fat free dressing or 1cup raw veggies 8oz Protein Drink Snack: 6oz non-fat milk or non-fat yogurt 8oz fiber drink Dinner: 8oz Protein drink 8oz broth You are allowed 3 servings of dairy per day. Note: If you mix a Protein Shake with milk that counts as 1 serving of dairy. If you're using RTF Protein shakes, that does not count towards your dairy. ie: if you mix two protein shakes with milk and have one RTF shake, than you only have 1 dairy serving left for the day. You make drink as much free fluids as you want (water, tea, coffee, crystal light, broth...) as long as you get your 80oz in. Hope this helps!

The amount of food you can eat sounds pretty standard. I think most of us are "supposed" to be able to eat between 4-6oz. What we can actually eat is an entirely different story. We all slip every once in a while - it was a special occasion so it's completely understandable! One day isn't going to make or break your success, but I agree with PP that at only a month out I'd try to be a little more careful of what I put in my sleeve just to be better safe than sorry. I'm 5 weeks out and just started eating crackers, but only after I chew them to death!
