Tummy Tuck...have You Had One?
Lilee84 replied to SouthernSleever's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I hope this isn't too personal but what procedure/s did you have and what was the cost? I'm still fresh from getting sleeved but I'm starting to save for plastics now. -
For tomorrow's "Where you at?!" Wednesday post! I think it's important to visualize how far you've come, whether you're 2 days out, 2 months out, or 2 years out. To prepare yourself, find your before picture, and if you don't have one just find a pre-op pic you don't mind posting, and either tonight or in the morning take a full body (or as close as possible) shot and prepare to post around noon tomorrow!

Finally Hit My 3 Week Stall And An Nsv!
Lilee84 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At almost 7 weeks I finally hit my 3 week stall! Am I concerned about it? Nope! Because I know that it's normal and temporary and that this is my body's way of catching up with my almost 40lb loss! So while the scale may not be moving, my pants are starting to REALLY sag. That sounds like a kick-ass NSV to me! -
Swollen Stomach 1 Week Post-Op

The staples and sutures are internal It's now they closed your stomach when they removed 80-85% of it. -
Personal Trainer...yay Or Nay?
Lilee84 replied to topgun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been using a personal trainer for a year now and I love it. He's great! He gets me, and he knows my limitations and works within them but pushes the envelope juuuuust a little. Honestly, a trainer isn't going to motivate you any more than you motivate yourself, and as far as measuring your progress - you're not going to care if you don't progress because it sounds like you really have no desire to do the work. The main thing a trainer is going to do for you is show you what exercises to do in order to minimize the saggy skin, build muscle, and tone what's already there. But if you don't decide to get your butt in the gym no matter how tired, how long a day it's been, or what's on TV, you may as well just throw your $ out the window, because that's what you'll be doing. Get yourself in the habit of walking every night or riding your bike every night, then once you've got the habit, switch it up and join a gym and THEN get a trainer. Until you have the habit, I wouldn't do it. -
Post your favorite motivational quote for all to see! I personally will be selecting my favorites, printing them out, and placing them in random places around my home/work so that when I least expect it, I've always got a little bit of inspiration. Here's my favorite... It's old but I think it bears repeating We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit. Aristotle

For the win! I was only able to eat about 1/4 of it but it was delicious! Oh, and if you try it, make sure they leave the onions off - their onions are notorious for giving people horrible gas. If only Firehouse Subs had the equivalent of an unwich...

Clear Liquid Diet
Lilee84 replied to hunnybunny5475's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lived on SF popsicles for the first 2, almost 3 weeks... Even while I was supposed to be trying to work in solids and mushies and purees, everything hurt. Listen to your body and when in doubt, call your Dr. Welcome to the losers bench! -
These are all GREAT! Anybody else have one???

Eating and drinking at the same time? Fill up on sliders for dinner? Have an adult beverage too many or too soon? WHO CARES?! Got a confession that's not sleeve related? That's OK, feel free to confess it! This is your place to confess without fear of judgement or flaming, so let's see what you've got! I'll start us off... I am NOT a morning person and require at least two hours awake before I can be considered fully functional. Every morning when I get to work (8AM) I spend at least an hour screwing around on the interwebs and checking email before I even *think* about working

Karma is exacting her revenge on me for laughing at my nephew and his food poisoning last night. I've been on the toilet every 30mins with a bowl in my lap. It's bad. What can I drink instead of gingerale? I'm dyin here!

Sleeping On Your Tummy
Lilee84 replied to Reddi4change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am a tummy sleeper. I slept on my stomach in the hospital - the pressure alleviated the pain, until I had to get up! LOL! I've pretty much been sleeping on my tummy since about 2 weeks out - the body pillow to hug helped before then. It It could just be the removal site you're feeling. Mine started hurting about a week post-op. My surgeons PA said it was normal. -

Respond Soon If Possible-Dehydrated-When Is It Time....
Lilee84 replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say you should be fine after the fluids. I was having similar symptoms before I went to the ER for fluids but once I got out it was easier to drink, eat, and generally just easier to function overall. Hang in there girly! I've noticed that when my beverages are half frozen they're way easier to drink and it's easier to get my fluids in. Keep us posted! -
have you thought about upping your exercise? Maybe add san.extra day or two at the gym and see if that gets the scale moving again for u.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it still make a sound? Probably, but the world will never know! Thursday Thinker is pretty simple, here's how it works... Post a topic, question, quote, whatever, for all of us to think about for the day. Again, sleeve related or not. And if you want to open up a dialog about your thinker or someone elses thinker, please post a separate thread for it so we can all enjoy the thinkers here Enjoy!

I'm not sure how old you are, but once I do start buying clothes again I plan on shopping at H&M. ETA: H&M has stuff for like twenty-somethings... Haven't really explored too much since I can't shop there so they may have more mature stuff as well

I did my first post op boot camp class tonight and ruined my nails in the process! Grrr! -
Anybody else finding strange bruises on themselves now? I've never really been an easy bruiser but since getting sleeved I keep finding strange bruises all over me. Right now I have a thumb sized bruise on the inside of my wrist and a golf ball sized bruise to the right of my knee.

Pic Update-- Visting Nyc 6.5 Months Post Op
Lilee84 replied to FishingNurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dunno about you but I'm an adrenaline junkie. Last time I was in Daytona (I live 30mins from it and am at the beach like every weekend from mid March - September) I tried to go on the Sling Shot (Bad A$$ awesome freaking boardwalk "ride") but I was too big. So I've decided that as celebration, next time I go I'm totally riding that freakin slingshot! Daytona's a lot of fun, you'll have a blast!
