warrior started following Post Op, Protein, & Paranoia :), What A Great Day., Signs Of Dehydration and and 7 others
-
I was sleeved April 6. I'm down almost 60 lbs. - feels like most of it fell off with my hair. I still struggle to get all my protein in. I'm wearing size snug 10 down from tight a 18. I run/walk everyday and track every bite in My Fitness Pal. I couldn't be happier with my new life!

Signs Of Dehydration
warrior replied to hhwhittington's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like you are dehydrated: dry mouth, fatigue, depression, dark urine, sallow skin, headache. You might be too dehydrated to correct it with fluids by mouth. You should go to your local ER and been seen by a physician. This is a very serious medical condition so do not delay. -
I hear ya!! The big stall is so frustrating. I knew it was coming, I know it'll stay a while, and I can't wait until it leaves!! But I'd rather be stalled at this weight than my weight in April. Water - Protein - exercise - at least we have healthy habits now.

Sleeved April 6. Down 35+ pounds Stalled for week and a half. I just got cleared for weight lifting and impact sports. That ought to help!

2 Weeks Post-Op: I Really Want Coffee
warrior replied to trojanchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took the opportunity to quit coffee with this surgery. Really after you get over the couple of days of headaches its smooth sailing. I figured since I was laid-up taking pain meds and I couldn't exactly consume anything other than Clear liquids at first, I might as well break another old food habit. Other than the caffeine buzz, there's nothing good for me in coffee. It dehydrates, creates acid , bad breath and stained teeth. I admit it did inspire the morning poo. Trust me, I was not just a casual coffee drinker. It was part of my daily routine for decades. I love the taste, the smell and the ritual. I miss the amped feeling from the caffeine. I've tried it twice since surgery in early April and it gives me a belly ache. Coffee is pretty harmless and if your physician says its acceptable then go for it. it's not horribly laden with chemicals but it will act as a diuretic. If you've simply got to have it then make it worth it. Buy good quality, tasty decaf. Enjoy your life as it works best for you. Cheers! -

You look great! You're going to have to change your profile name. Lil' Kim won't mind. -
Water Water Water!!!! Dark urine is often a sign of dehydration. Yes, it could be from certain medications or you might be spotting a little. Either way, more fluids can't hurt.

Ugggh! I Hate This Drain!
warrior replied to kellythestarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Removal didn't hurt me. But it was a truly odd sensation. You can feel it slip out from deep in your abdomen. It was done in like five seconds. It was just a trip. I've never felt anything like it - just plain weird. There's no need to fear it. On the contrary, it's an experience you'll probably reflect on later with a sense of curiousness. As with things, keep an open mind. It'll be over before you know it and you'll probably never do it again. At least that should make you smile. Good Luck. -

Post Op, Protein, & Paranoia :)

It'll take some time to get to the point of being able to get all your Protein. I am four weeks out and today is the very first time I got all 80g of protein in. I mixed a 40g New whey protein shot with crystal light and 20 oz of Water. It took a while to finish. Later I had a can of Pure Protein brand for the other 35g. I had a couple slices of thin sliced deli turkey and a sf Fudgesicle. Ta-Da!!! I hope I can do that everyday, it's still cheaper that dining out. -

I bought sugar free Fudgesicles today. They taste great and have a few more calories than sf Popsicles.... but they have 2 grams of protein in each bar. I suppose I could make ice cream and fortify it, but I'm not much for sweet treats.

Home From Hospital!

I just got some sugar free Fudgesicles. They taste good and have few more calories than a regular sf Popsicle but there's two grams of Protein in each one. Hey, I'll sneak protein any way I can. -
1 Month Weight Loss Stall
warrior replied to anniew's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're right on course I'd say. I'm one month out today and have lost 28. I also stalled and lost only two pounds this week. It's tough but I try not to compare my circumstance to others on the site or have unreasonable expectations. I wish I'd lost more, but I'm glad I've lost this much weight through hard work and sacrifice. Besides, I bet if we took an average of everyone at one month, we're probably just right where we should be. Relax. Remember back when we'd kill to lose 20 lbs? That was a month ago. -
Anyone Out There 5'7'' Bmi 36 - 230Lbs
warrior replied to kiwi0615's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I started with just about the same stats. I'm just shy of a month post-op. I'm about 25 lbs down, but I'm not adding it to my ticker until I see the official number from the doctor's scale. I gained some after the procedure, but I'm not counting that in my score since it was all Water retention. I'm down one size in pants and can definitely see a change in my face and upper arms. It's true, lower BMI loses more slowly than higher rates At least that's my experience and what I can surmise from a whole lot of posts. I think I've hit the famous stall everyone talks about. I had a couple of dehydrated days that were pure hell. I eat somewhere around 500 calories per day and walk about 2 miles a day (more on weekends). I'm not cleared for the gym until 6 weeks. I hope that answered your questions. Good luck! -
My Vitamins Are Making Me Sick.
warrior replied to tlb456's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I grind all my pills with a mortar and pestle until its a fine powder. Then mx it with Chobani yogurt. It's tolerable and I eat my breakfast down the hatch simultaneously I do use Trader Joe's high potency chewables. They're pretty good
