I am a 38 year old mom of 3. From Independence (Kansas City) MO. I have been over weight all my adult life. I started looking into the surgery a few years ago, and just figured I would never qualify becuase i wasn't 100 lbs over weight. Then this past summer i started working at Blue Cross Blue Shield, and was excited to see that it wasn't the weight that made me qualify.. but my bmi!! I was elated!!  I realized that with me being only 4'10 -- my bmi was 40.. which quailified me for the surgery... So I called up the Dr. -- went to the seminar on Oct. 5 - and I am 9 days away from surgery!! Yeah!! I am having my sleeve done on 2/16/12.

I get so many mixed opinons from everyone..because I guess I dont really look as over weight as "some seem to think you should be to have the surgery".I just say....well my BMI is over 40...and my insurance has approved and is paying for it...so I guess I am! I can not wait to start my life over being healthy!!
