Its extremely good news that you and your children are ok. I hope you aches and pains stay minor and you recover quickly. At least you did it the right way. Had the accident first then the wine...

Just my opinion Christina, But you have been thru so much waiting for the approval and now if you get it your going to turn it down. This show basically is just another form of a diet and when its done will you be able to continue the weight loss and keep it off? I ask only because I know my own situation. I know I would fall back into old habits and that why I have not been able to succedd in the past. The band was choisen by me as a tool to assist me in my journey. I for one would not turn it down when I'm as close as you are but it is your decision.

Oh yes Kelly ...but won't have as much trouble with insurance company on getting the $60,000.00 for a new Vet as you would with getting $15,000.00 for a new band -
Crystal, You'll have to use you brain more now against the difficult times. And from what I see in your post you'll do just fine. Best wishes

Jan, Welcome to LBT It is a bit scary and no matter what we tell you you'll still have the feelings, But want you to know my surgery went extremely well and my recovery was quick and painless. If I had to do over knowing what I know now I'f have not one ounce of fear. Hope this helps -
In his Pre-op presentation my Dr shows the stats to be; Gastric by-pass 1 in 200 deaths RNY 1 in 500 and Lapbanding 1 in 2,000 Hope this helps.

Lisa Lisa Lisa, Come on now young lady lets point out one thing here. My Statement was: If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then it must be a duck..isn't that right Lisa? This is a question and not an accusation as I told you numerous times in our PM's. I knew thru your own admission you were lurking thus the question was posed. You comment here: Was it Greg's brilliant(and I will take this as a the compliment that I knew you mean it to be, because under it all we are pals.) deduction that if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then it must be DeLarla? Now lets move on a little bit further in your response here and we find this: When someone alters the meaning of what we say or write it's called "slander" and "libel" respectively, and it's illegal. Im sorry Lisa but I have looked at these two statement several times and I do notice someone altered it so it does change the meaning and yes if that is what I had originally wrote you would be correct. I would have been accussing you. But I didn't accuse you. You had to alter the statement to put it here to prove a point.

Jenna, Change the name from Jeter to Bear and the breed from Greyhound to lab And you have my store with one of my dogs. That was 4 years ago when Iwent thru the same thing you are going thru. Dr told us she was already two years past the life expetancy for her mixed lab breed. Surgey would be $600.00 + and they Chem could run up to $1,200.00 After being told the news we opted to let Bear go and I brought her home for a few days to be with us. The day it came I took her to the vets and I couldn't take her in. So I went in and put a deposit down to schedule the surgery. I came home to a family of very sad people who really brighten up when they saw her come running in behind me. Thiught for sure I was going to catch hell from the boss for spending the money but that didn't happen. She had her surgery. They got all the cancer and she did not have to go thru the chemo. She now runs around the house like a puppy and watches over the two other dogs here. She is now 6yrs passed twhat they claimn is her time and acting like she another 20yrs away from giving up. I hope and pray that you may also have an outcome like we did. but if its not to be we will all be saddened with you. But take that love you have for Jeter and give it to another. Jeter would want you to do for another what you did for Him. Its a great thing you did taking him from the retired greyhounds. I got all the dogs I have from either rescueing them from being put to sleep after finding them as a stray while working as a cop. My last dog is a boxer my son actually took from a pet shop in Indiana due to it being abused. These lost and abused dog show more love then an others. Best wishes with what every you decide... Just remember he is leaving you after having felt more love in the last two years then he had before that time.

No weight loss this week for me. I did feel like exercising one day but I laid down til the feeling went away

I had to do 14 days of liquid diet. I got to drink one Slim fast and 5 cans of Ensure each day with two Dannon lite yogurts. I paced it like one item every two hours and that keep the hunger pains away. I started dropping weight right away and lost 20 pounds oin the pre-op diet. SO that helped me along. Plus I got to really like the Ensures and now can't wait to get to senior citizen statis so I can have them again..lol Was on liquid diet for 4 weeks after surgery but got to add things to it and I did this whole liquid diet without cheating once and it went a long way in helping me adjust to new habits. Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted

Jenna, It will only be the hardest going to work. Once you make it there, without smoking, you will do the 8 hours at work then the ride home won't be so bad becasue you will be so proud of yourself for making that day you'll be so busy going over the benifits that you'll not think about sticking that dirty, filthy, stick of desease and disgust in your mouth. Good luck, each day gets better.

We're all pulling real hard for you princess....just keep in mind when you stop smoking so do the others in your home. Everyone knows its hard but You can do it.

NSV...My band just cost $10 less
lapbander081004 replied to banded&tattooed's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Funny I sent clothes (size 50 pants to be exact) to a clothes swap and forgot to take my last $10.00 I had in one of the pockets. If you tell me what pocket I can confirm if the money is mine. We can make arraingments to get it back to me. Good luck and your going to find many things better then the $10.00 coming your way now that your banded -
Good luck and best wishes on the second surgery. We all know with any surgery some of us have problems while others do not. Lets hope this time round you get to join the majority.

Penni, She isn't banded yet...Its after the band she needs to keep them matches away from the bathroom. Jenna we are all pulling for you. Banded or not you have made a major health move by stopping the smoking. I don't know about your area but here on the radio they have some of the hardest hitting anti smoking ads where the kids talk about how much they smoke a day. And they are actually taking about what they intake from their parents smoking. I know two people since these ads started running that quit based on them alone. And after your banded you food intake will be less and like Dawn said you'll taste the food and you really need that to help you feel better. Good luck

Penni, I too could not open it. Maybe if you sent it thru my e-mail. Thanks in advance

Moderator and Privacy Issues on LBT
lapbander081004 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Alex, I understand that your moderators have not had an easy time lately. I hope the board is ready to settle down and return to the great site it is. Moderators need to be able to do thier jobs without fear of disgruntled members going after them in open threads. All complaints should be forwarded to you for consideration and or action. I also hope everyone who hid thier identiy, for what ever reason, informs you as you have requested and ALL given a chance to return here. Some did it to be trouble makers others did it for fear of that almighty PM. But for what ever reason it was done we see the damage it causes. I did not do it but had considered going "Undercover" because I wanted to be able to post and be here without fear. One last thing. Everyone has differnt views on different topics....If everyone is careful in placing a proper title on thier threads then those who do not wish to discuss politics/religion or any other topic then they are warned and should not enter the site unless they can hold a civil discussion and respect others opinions as they want thiers respected. We are not here to hurt but to help each other. If sex/race/religion or political views cloud you abilities to be civil move on to another threads....there are hundreds of them out here.
