OMG I can't believe what I just did...
lapbander081004 replied to Jonathan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good to see your doing well Johathan, It gets better every week. Won't be long and you'll be back to normal eating and enjoying your new portion sizes cause they wil fill you up. Continued success my friend -
Well another week with no loss. But folks I'm not upset cause I know why there is no loss. Very poor week this past week... and I can point at thiggs but when I do I notice all 8 of my fingers point at ME. And my two thumbs keep giving me the thumbs down when I even think about placing the blame elsewhere then where the fingers are pointing. Don't know how I got off track so badly but I did. So My faith Celebrates LENT so I have decided to give up my habit of not writing down what I am eating and to stay on track. If I am successful at this then on Easter Morning I am going to treat myself to one Chocolate Covered Marshmellow Bunny. Figure Jesus did 40 days in the Desert without for my sake I can do this for myself in his name. God is Good...All day long

Darcy this is a wonderfull wake up call as others have said.. thanks from me also for posting it. Now if you would have just called me tonight at 10:00pm for another wake up call I won't have been late for work...lol. oh well they'll get over it. -
I think the majority of banded people have at least one PB experience...But only few have a continual problem with it. Most of the time it will be aviod by chewing food extremely well and cutting down on portion size. I was banded in Aug of 04 and I have only had one PB and it was very minor. As far as popcorn. I haven't tried it yet but some on here have posted the can tolerate it and some don't...With all this its a process of learning what Your system will handle. Try something in small amounts and if you tolerted it then its fine if not you may have to exclude it from your program. But if you tolerate it make sure yiou eat the proper portions and don't over do it.

Showers only here too until the incisions were completely closed and no scabing. I have a pool in my yard and naturally it got nice and warm right after my surgery so I really wanted to go in but couldn't.

WHAT RELIGION IS YOUR BRA? A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's and shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said, "I'd like to buy a bra for my wife." "What type of bra?" asked the clerk . "Type?" inquires the man, "There's more than one type?" "Look around," said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material imaginable. "Actually, even with all of this variety there are really only four types of bras to choose from." Relieved, the man asked about the types. The saleslady replied: "There are the Catholic, the Salvation Army, the Presbyterian, and the Baptist types. Which one would you prefer?" Now totally befuddled the man asked about the differences between them. The saleslady responded, "It is all really quite simple... The Catholic type supports the masses. The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen. The Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright. The Baptist makes mountains out of mole hills." :-)

1 month till my band-scared about hunger
lapbander081004 replied to smellycat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I probably shouldn't have called it a drawback. Its just a little frustrating waiting for the Dr to get the right amount in the band. And since each person is differnet its not something Dr's can just say will work. So its put some in .. then more then take some out...LOL i don't pay for anything so I should keep my formally big mouth shut LOL But I feel I'm at the right spot with the band fills. Just have to get back on track with the proper eating. -
WOw Brandi Well I'd like to show Carter Lee's picture to those who always say newborns aren't cute. (Personally I have never seen one that isn't cute) And then I saw the next picture and see where he got them looks. You look great mom and glad all has gone so well for you.

Tanya, Your very brave to do what your doing in the first place..but I don't think you have to worry about your Dr. everyone of the Dr who do any type surgery had to have a first person to do it on. And with Dr Allen, who has experianece standing by him your going to be in good hands. Plus you got all of us here praying for you...So you got it made. Just think about all the others that will be able to follow you with this Dr and how they, unknowingly, will owe his abliities to you cause your letting him use your body to prove to himself what he already knows. He's a Good Dr and he can do this.

Congradulations Brandi, Great news you and baby doing fine. Now you'll be ready for Bandstock in June. So baby got a name yet...LOL and how about them statis.. How big how tall when was it banded(lol) Let us know more. We care

1 month till my band-scared about hunger
lapbander081004 replied to smellycat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The reason I had the band put in was to get the feeling of fullness and it work just fine in that area. The only draw back I see to the band so far is the fills needed to get to the spot where your band works the best...but it sure beats the drastic surgery the others offer and I am 200% satisfied with my decision to lapband. Smellycat was my favorite song Lisa sang on Friends -

Prayer request...I find out today...
lapbander081004 replied to LapBandFan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Brenda, Got lots of prayer coming from here for you. I checked with my insuracne co when I got approved and they told me that any problems that arise from the surgery or the product inplanted are covered if the Dr can justify them. band removal at my request would not be covered. So hopefully yours will cover you>>>AND THEY SHOULD -
Thrish. Gives you few more days to study. Hear the math test is tough...lol Good luck Thursday...You'll do just fine

Jonathan Will ahve good thoughts for you today. Prayers your way also. Looking forward to hearing how you feel when back up to posting.

Blossom, Believe it or not but I can have eggs anyway but scrambled. I eat them all the time just have to do sunnyside up or omelet style. But nice fluffy scambled eggs and its painville for 15-20 minutes. -
Twisted my port but not bad enough to have it fixed at this point...but the band..nope cannot feel that at all. Port sticks out and can be seen if shirt is off. But then I impress people with my mind not my belly so I don't care lol
