Hello I have a silly question. I am going out for dinner and I wanted to order a soup but if I am not allowed to drink and eat at the same time, how can I eat what is in the soup? Am I being ridiculous? I just don't want to throw up out for dinner. :-) Thank you for any responses!

When I made the decision to have this surgery, I was so lucky to be supported by my husband, family and friends. Now that it is done, I am so scared of food. I hear these horror stories about throwing up all the time. It makes me afraid that later on when I can eat I won't be able to go out since I may throw up. Someone who is either going through it or went through it please offer some sort of positive thoughts. I am hoping I did not make the biggest mistake of my life. P.S. I am going to seek psychological help since I used to think of food as a comfort. :-( Thank you for anyone that responds.

Is there anyone that finds themselves in the bathroom after every thing they put in their mouths? Every time I have a protein drink, about 15 mins later, I am "getting rid" of it. I tried my first egg white today and I felt that maybe a half an hour went by and I was in the bathroom. Is this normal? Should I consult my doctor? Anyone? Thanks in advanced!

I am going the other way, not throwing up. I was taking muscle milk which had no lactose but then I found isopure which is like a juice and it at least gets down which I was having a problem getting it down. But even with the isopure and then the egg white everything doesn't seem to stay in....

Thank you so much everyone for all your responses, you are all making me feel so much better. :-) I guess when I was on here the days after surgery I read so many people that were getting sick and then I thought wow, something must be wrong with me, I never got sick yet.....I am one of those waiting for the other shoe to drop people, I have to stop being that way and be positive. You are all wonderful for writing to me and I do thank you from the bottom of my heart for the encouragement.

Yes, I am going to start mushie foods on Wednesday, I think I have just heard so many horror stories that I am almost afraid to get to that point. I think I will take your advice with the soup. Thank you :-)
