Growing Impatient!
Crichard1107 replied to Crichard1107's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
UPDATE!!!! Spoke with CIGNA this afternoon and they stated that they have received the paperwork for my surgery and that the doctor's office stated that they would like to perform the surgery on 6/28 so it looks like I may be a June Sleever!!!! Ready to join all my friends on the loosers bench -
Gigimamma, Check with Cigna, they have revised their bariatric policy and only require three months now instead of six!!! I found that out at the end of my 5th month so it did not make a big difference for me but for someone just starting it will make a world of difference.

Well I got a call from the doctor's office this morning saying that my insurance was going to expire at midnight tonight and of course I flipped out and had to get Human Resources on the phone and get it all straightened out and of course now I have to wait until in the morning for them to submit to the insurance company because the expiration date has been updated in the system but we will not be able to see it until midnight. Just another bump in the road but I'm not going to let it keep me down, I'm going to look to the future and pray for a quick approval!!! -
Congrats!!!! What insurance do you have??
-
OMG I can hardly believe it, I saw my PCP today and have obtained my clearance for my surgery!!!! Now I am just waiting for insurance approval and I pray that it all goes smoothly and I will be a June sleever!!!!!!! Fingers Crossed for quick approval!!!!

Well I began my journey in January with my first visit with the NUT and at that time my insurance, CIGNA, required a 6 month supervised diet. I found out yesterday that CIGNA has revised their policy effective 5/5/12 to only require a 3 month supervised diet. I called my surgeons office this morning and they have started the ball rolling with my insurance so now I am waiting for my approval from the insurance company then I will get my date. I am so excited. I thought this day would never come!!!!!! Anyone have CIGNA? How long did it take for approval!!!!

I will have my final appointment with the Nutritionist on June 1st and they will submit for approval from CIGNA that day and hopefully I will not have to wait to long for approval and I could possibly be sleeved the last week in June!!!!! Wishing you all the best of luck and I think we should have a Southshore group!!! -

What insurance do you have and how long did it take for you to be approved. I have a month and a half left on my 6 month insurance required diet and i plan on submitting the first week in June and I was just wondering how long it takes for the insurance to approve
-
Hello my fellow Louisiana Sleevers, Well I'm at my half way point three months down and three to go on the supervised diet. I have lost 15 pounds so far and feeling great about myself and my future. I'm shooting for my Drs office to file with the insurance company on June 2nd!!!! YAY
-
Well Finaly4me, I have not been sleeved yet, although I am well on my way. My insurance requires a 6 month diet and I am 1/3 rd of the way there!!! But I am sure that the hardest part of the crawfish boils for me are going to stay away from the potatoes and to just control myself, because as I'm sure you know its hard to stop once you start.

Finaly4me, I am also from New Orleans and I totally understand where you are coming from!!!!!
-
Congrats, I'm in the begining stage of my 6 month diet and cant wait!!!!!
