no..his full name is Dr. Fernando Govea Garcia...maybe that is where you might be confused..

you should have your primary physcian follow you post op. most are not happy that you went to mexico. But they will get over it if they want you as a patient and if they dont then find a new doctor who will.. I had to do that with on of my doctors..I think many feel inferior to people going over to Mexico for procedures because it is cheaper and in my opinion much better medical care that if the cat got out of the bag to more and more people, then many would start going there on a regular basis..Our doctors here are well aware of the patients going to mexico I think that alot of them feel some sort of threat..and I know alot of doctors that believe in it because they know about all the beaurucratic BS that makes our health care system the way that it is.

I highly recommend Dr. Garcia my husband and myself have boyth had surgery with him in the past 4 weeks we were so impressed with the entire team of doctors and hospital staff the hospital is small but very clean...I had an allergic reaction to the anethesia and it was handle as I am still here..they are top notch in my opinion..I was extremly nervous and on the fence about which doctor to use..Do what I did call Dr.Garcia and have a phone interview with him (that is what I did)..Once I hung up the phone I had peace in knowing that he was the doctor for me...he charges 5000.00...If you have any other questions feel free to PM me. my friend who is on this forum had her surgery the same day as me and she is had a great experience as well..I know she would answer any questions for you as well her name is britt_bearpaw. Good luck in deciding who ever you chose..just remember that you will know it in your heart when you find the right one..also I wish I had done this years ao so dont wait too much longer..

I was sleeved last Thursday Feb 16 in Tijuana Mexico by Dr Fernando Garcia and his awesome team..There are not enough adjectives to describe my expirience Dr Garcia his assisstant Dr. Velazco and anethesiologist Dr. Cabrerra are the finest team of doctors I have ever been placed with. I was very reluctant on going to Mexico(as I have a quite extenstive medical history) and now I don't want to go to doctors here in the US. The nurses were very kind, compassionate and competent I never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for anything..They even give you an internist to follow you during your stay whom gives you a thouragh exam I cannot remember her name but she was very sweet. The hospital is so so clean the smell of pinesol was everywhere. Their equipment is older than here in the US but it all works and does the job needed... I cannot believe that I had NO pain my biggest issue was nausea which they aggressivly treated the first few hours post op are the worst and after I did not even feel as if I had surgery . I am posting because I want anyone who is having had a hard time deciding on Mexico or US . I would rather be there than here for any medical treatment..I cannot vouch for any doctors other than the one's involved in my care but Dr. Garcia and his entire team are a doctors that I would Highly recommend to anyone especially my family members..feel free to PM if any questions

We loved Dr. Garcia and the experience at Hospital MI Doctor on TJ and would use him again. We went through alma at Ready 4 a Change and she was great. My daughter feels like she never had surgery other than the fact she is never hungry and can only eat small amounts of food. She's lost about 50 lbs all together. She's very happy with her decision on both Dr. Garcia and having the VSG instead of any other WLS. I've heard really good things about Dr. Kelly also. Just deal with him directly. Either will take good care of you.

I am going with Dr. Garcia and it is $5000. I have done alot of research and talked with alot of his patients that used him. I am pleased with my decision to use him. My surgery is May 7th.

I just got back home yesterday from my trip for surgery with Dr. Garcia. They are definitely top-notch. When I woke up the next day after surgery, I told them that it didn't feel like I'd had surgery at all, and the internist and Dr. Garcia both said that I didn't look like someone who had just had surgery. LOL. I was running up and down the hallway with my IV and visiting with other people in their rooms.
