Congratulations and welcome!!!! The amount lost in a months varies tremendously as you will see when you spend time on this forum. The reaction to weight lost varies too, some see any loss as a big victory, some are troubled because their loss does not compare to others on here. One thing is sure, your body does not log on to forums as a reference, it has it's own schedule. 20 pounds in a month after surgery is great! Get ready to give away or sell your clothes. I advise you to buy cheap clothes, I shop at the second hand stores. I went through three complete closet strippings. I am just now contemplating a Macy's suit. Welcome again, Vitae!!! :)

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
gmanbat replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what my nephews call me, probably because my brother squealed on me about my profound weirdness and the times he had to rescue me in the 60's. I changed my title to "Your Hippy Uncle". Why fight it? Wonder wear I can score some bell bottoms? -
I ran up "killer hill" 8 times with 5 pound weights in each hand on Monday for HIIT. Bodyblade and push-ups on Wednesday. On Friday, legs only, knee bends and calf raises. The new Amazing grass green powder is working out well. I hit it first thing in the morning. It is helping me sleep and contributing to a general feeling of well-being.

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
gmanbat replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Darn, edited my post too late. Sorry, PDXMan. I wrote the definitive book on far from perfect. You can see that by the sarcasm in my deleted post. I am confused about far more than I actually know. If I had any class I would keep my mouth shut and my typing fingers to myself. But alas, no class. -

Edit: Smart aleck answer deleted. Peace, love, and soul to everyone!!! I love you guys!!!!   We cool, PDX? Relationships are more important than winning arguments. My wife taught me that, she also taught me that I could never win. -

How about calling someone a bully? And I love you, too....in a....Viking sort of way. -
Beautiful! This reminds me of Heaven. Thanks for that!

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
gmanbat replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good point, Flmama. One tactic I learned in my hippy days was to go ultra-regressive. Answer like a 3 year old. "How did you lose the weight?" "I got less fat" "Yes, but how did you get less fat?" "It went away" "Yes, but what did you do to make it go away?" "I wanted it to." "You wanted it too? But how did you lose the weight?" "I got less fat" Eventually they will get exasperated and shut up. -
6 Pairs of Pants for Less Than $24
gmanbat replied to delta_girl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Delta Girl, you're my kinda folks. I am happy to discover that my new home in Florida is near many second hand stores including Goodwill and Sally Anns, (Salvation Army). I have never felt even a twinge of shame going into such places. They were my refuge when I could not buy clothes big enough in regular stores and they helped me during my various stages of shrinking. Now that I am pretty well at a stable place, I still go there. I have bought some really good clothing, many with new tags still attached. -

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
gmanbat replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My idea of "bullying" is not what OP did. She presented her viewpoint. She pointed out the problems with lying. Bullying is forcing. She is not forcing. I would call the flack she is getting from folks bullying. Invariably, people who accuse others of "judging" are condeming themselves even as they do it. Folks that preach tolerance often have none to give to those who disagree with them. Why don't you all just leave her alone? Pile on me, I don't sweat you. It's just a freakin' forum. -

Lying about Weight Loss Surgery !
gmanbat replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Knowing stuff about the Gman is a privilege not a right. Many of you guys know more about me than many people around me. I am picky about who I tell but I must admit that I tell people out of orneriness sometimes. I like to see them squirm trying to figure out what the heck I'm talking about. I care about whether Kim Kardashian looks better in bangs more than whether people approve of my operation. -
OMG...so many food commercials
gmanbat replied to Vicki0618's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Food Network was my one of my favorite channels before the sleeve. I quit watching when I realized it was cruel, like pulling wings off of a fly,....and I was the fly. -
When did your toughest weight loss plateau occur?
gmanbat replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have pretty much stalled at the goal weight I decided on before I started. Now I am wondering if my brain programed my body because of that choice. I didn't think my brain was that strong and my wife agrees. .......hey! -
Im going to eat one if my f*%ki&g dogs!

I think Protein pills would only be for folks who absolutely cannot stand the tase of Protein powder. I haven't priced them recently but whey powder is cheaper I believe. And even at a year out I would rather chew up a tab than swallow one and have it lay on my stomach. The only pills I swallow are gel capsules, the rest I chew up no matter how bad they taste. Have you tried protein powder?

So depressed....denied
gmanbat replied to VSG148Sz6's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why were you denied if I might ask? I was denied because I was a hippy in the 60's for 2 years, clean ever since. My angry surgeon sent off a fax immediately and got me approved quickly. Insurance companies worship the word no. -
Stalked Your Posts/Researched to No End! I'M DOING IT...3/29
gmanbat replied to prettynpink's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The idea of stalkers used to bother me until I realized that I am scarier than anyone who could be peering into my window. Welcome!!!!! Hoping and praying that all goes well with you! -

Ugh protein is hard to do
gmanbat replied to bringiton's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This deal reminds me of driving on ice, when in doubt..slow down. Sleevie don't dig too much or too fast. I am over a year out and he still feels the same about it. At one week out only slow tunes for you. Don't worry about starving. Won't happen. If you don't get it all in...no problem..tomorrow is another day. Be good to sleevie now, she gonna make you look good later. -
Glutamine and Acetominopheine. Ok after surgery?
gmanbat replied to pixigrl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
http://www.drugs.com...taminophen.html http://www.mercola.c...ry/protocol.htm http://www.livestron...-after-surgery/ Acetaminophen is also called Tylenol and other things, normally prescribed after surgery. Too much could mess with your liver. Glutamine is widely prescribed to help healing, especially in other countries. Nearly impossible to overdose as the second link says. I hit the glutamine consistently, I think it helps my recovery from exercise. Is the coordinator a doctor or nurse? -

most vile thing I have ever tasted
gmanbat replied to TES's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know you speak the truth. I have had antibiotics get stuck in the back of my throat, had to spit them up and take them again. Diabolical flavor! No wonder bacteria hates em, anything would. I used to take powdered green tea extract in a shot glass of hot water with a bit of splenda. Makes your entire body shudder in exquisite revulsion.
