    Doctor visit

Medial jargon bypass...I like your doc! Congratulations!
  3. Pure crappola....I work in the hot Florida sun all day and sweat constantly for hours. I drink six to seven small bottles of Water but don't feel like I can't drink enough. If I didn't get enough I would faint of heat stroke, trust me. I sip a tiny bit with some dry stuff but not with moisture laden foods. If you chew slowly swallowing food is not a problem. Where did your NUT get her credentials...Marquis De Sade University? Protein shakes are important at first because of the high density of protein and ease of getting in. Later on when you are on solid foods they are much less a factor. I only use them now as an after workout drink. I also didn't dig ultra-sweetness. I got unflavored Protein Powder and mixed Peanut Butter in it. There are flavorless protein formulas that mix in drinks that are hardly noticed.

    Unbelieveable News!

    Bada Bing...Bada Boom.... ..HBP...outa here !
  5. Busy week, I tore apart a long dock, helped unload and move long poles and hauled much lumber manually, and helped buld a boat house. The Florida sun is blazing hot, I jumped in the lake today...felt pretty good. I am getting quite a tan. Debbie has noticed. :D

  6. I got a wild hair and decided to make a white russian: vodka, cream, coffee liqueur. I only had coffee not the liqueur. It was ok tasting, did not give me much of a buzz, burned my tummy, and filled me up almost immediately. No getting drunk here. I was nauseous for two days. The vodka is destined to be used as cleaning Fluid. First time I imbibed since sleeving.....and the last.

    I'm so glad I can't sit still

Talking to clothes?... I did the same thing at Macy's talking to the rack of suits that were all too small. "I shall return and you will be mine!" The suits gave me the silent treatment as if my absurd prediction wasn't worthy of response. Imagine their consternation when I returned and bypassed the suits that I was previously addressing and went down the rack to their smaller versions. Revenge on clothing...they used to make us feel bad....we're whipping their hinnies...

Welcome! As you will notice in my signature, my starting weight was 340 as well. 210 now.

    A helpful hint!

Ya, if you tried on a shirt and it smelled like Brut, cigarette smoke, and nervous sweat you wouldn't buy it unless there is a sleazy bar scene that you are trying to fit into.
  11. From this man's viewpoint, the guy is a leech and a lazy bum. Find someone who has a sense of honor.
  12. Cassie laid it out quite clearly. I know you wanted to hear from recent sleevers of which I am not but when I considered your statement, "this is such a massive life changing decision" I asked myself, "What has changed in my life?" Outside of all the positives: health improvements, energy increases, ease of buying clothes, etc., and the negative: occasional heartburn, the only real change that has occured is that I eat less. My stomach talks back to me now whereas before it just put up with whatever I shoved down there and complained later. The social changes are insignificant to me. My friends understand or they are not my friends and no problem. I have lost no one through this, apparently my friends and relatives really loved me.
  13. Macaroni salad. When I eat too much I can no longer leap tall buildings or see through walls, crime goes on unchecked and the world suffers.

    CPAP issues

I never heard of the gurgling sound. I would bring it up with doc and even the folks who handle the apnea equipment. Wife and I both had apnea and c-paps. We shed them within a month of surgery which is common after WLS.

You may be right but when I was a boy we had a dogpile on a kid that said something stupid. He suffocated. OK, that wasn't true but it could have happened, right?

Good! Since I've lost much of my testosterone I needed something new to blame my behavior on.
  18. I lost ALL of my hair during chemo treatment for cancer and I can tell you this was not nearly as bad. It grew back after chemo and no doubt as much as possible will grow back considering that I am 64 and my uncles were all billiard balls.

    A helpful hint!

Well, you've been told off enough. I dig going to Goodwill and such stores mainly because I am so darned cheap. I've picked up designer clothes that still had the tags on. Treasure hunt! When I was a teen I bought stuff at the men's stores, wore them to a party, and exchanged them the next day for the next party. I came from a lower middle class home and tried to keep up appearances and run with the wealthier kids. But mostly it was to impress girls...the motivation for many a nefarious act!

    I lost 5 wiener dogs!

Playing the stock market? Lotsa folks lose it there.
  21. I'd talk to the doc. Mine wasn't that bad and my pain meds did me just fine.
  22. Maybe you were in a position that you had to continue the date but I would have left the first time the crap left their mouth. It's a privilege to be with the Gman, uttering deprecating nonsense is an instant disqualification.
  23. Yup, just had a bout yesterday. This is not your common heartburn, it's frantic. All else fades from care but getting relief. I hit Gas-X, Tums, and milk most of the time. Sometimes I just eat something and it goes away. I also force myself to burp, swallowing air and expelling it hoping some of the trapped gas will go with it. Sometimes nothing seems to work but time. I am glad it doesn't happen often. It seldom goes on more than a couple hours at most. What brings it on for me? An empty stomach, rice, too much coffee I think but sometimes I can't trace it back to what I ate. Stress can be a factor, too. I am following this thread with you hoping some forumites have workable solutions.
  24. Jaw-dropping! Wonderful!! Congratulations!
