Did revision due to weight gain actually work for you?
JulieCab posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hello! It’s been a long time since I’ve been on these boards! I was sleeved in 2011 and am now scheduled for revision to MGB in June. my question is directed to those of you who chose revision due to weight gain, not because of GERD, not that I don’t appreciate the view points of you all who revised due to GERD but because I really want to hear form folks whose primary reason for revision was to address weight regain. i am almost back up to my highest weight pre sleeve and I see such mixed results. What has your experience if you had revision to actually lose weight? Was it worth the expense? Did you get the results you were hoping for? -

Froufrou, was the doctor able to tell you how stretched it was ? That is something I am curious about. I really think perhaps DS would be better for me, but because of reflux issues I’m not sure I will be able to. -

@newme3, great results, congrats!!! did you go to full bypass? -
Agreed on the low sodium v8. love it. am generally having one 5.5 oz can every other day or so as some of my liquids. Yeah, I think a lot of the advice i've been given, despite being called a sleeve diet, is basically adapted from their RNY diet guidelines.

You know, here's another interesting anomoly. I was told I couldn't have oatmeal or cream of wheat or any of it, and no cereal, bread or pasta until I'd lost 75% of my weight. But on here I think I've heard most people say they are allowed to eat it in moderation. Maybe its for the reasons of stopping carb cravings. my NUT told me that oatmeal or cream of wheat could get stuck....if its thinned out, I'm not seeing it. (and um, I've had both of them, thinned out nicely) Oops :aureola: :blush5:

Nutrition Md Suggest Seeing An Endocrinologist Do To Poor Loss
JulieCab replied to bayareanan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm no expert, but deciding your issue is metabolic after putting you on a diet that sound like its high in carbo and fat seems premature. What has your eating been like post op would you say? How much Protein are you getting, versus carbs and fat? how many calories? Was the nutrition MD familiar with bariatric procedures? I have been to an endocrinologist several times because of diabetes and some other issues, but I guess I have more questinos for you at this point. I am sure it wouldn't hurt, but the diet she has you on sounds really odd to me.
