    Nausea With Vitamins

My chewable vitamins were making me nauseous, so I add them in when I blend my protein shake In the morning and it does help. I also add my fiber in the shake too. I hope this helps.
  2. Well, we are here in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and I can tell you this has been a challenge! All this wonderful food and I am still in the mushy stage of my diet! We planned accordinlly for the trip but smelling all the wonderful aromas is tough! Etoufee, jambalya, gumbo and my favorite beignets! I can have a little of gumbo and etoufee (no rice). I can remember to was only last year when we ate and drank from the time we got here till the time we left! It is interesting, that what was once the focal point of the day is now something I don't want to think about! But on a happy note, I had to buy a couple of new pairs of jeans and I was able to tuck in my shirt and wear a belt! I can't remember the last time I wore a belt! Grateful for the little blessings!
  3. @ Cheri Awesome advise! I am totally in my 3 week stall! The evil scale hasn't moved in 10 days-- only flucuated(sp) one or two pounds! I try so hard to get in my water and protein! I never feel hungry but it takes forever to get anything dowm! I know this is going to work, I would just like it to work at little faster! I haven't felt like working out and I realized that if I get on that elliptical I would probablly get the scale moving!

    January 2012 Sleevers!

It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and i am down 20 lbs! I'm not sure how many calories I am supposed to take in each day. The doctor said to remain hydrated is the most important thing. I am trying to get in 40 grams of protien a day and so far I have been able to accomplish it. This week I can add mushy bananas and oatmeal to my choices!

    Its Your Period Dummy!

I was sleeved on Jan 23rd and I was concerned that I didn't start around my "regular time", but then Auntie Flo not only showed up, she came slamming into the station yesterday! I haven't had these kind of cramps since I was 16! I am better now but I don't think hubby slept very well last night with me up and down all night long! I hope this isn't going to be the norm! For years my period has come and gone without much incident, which I am grateful for. If I have to still have one I prefer it to be as inconvient as possible!
  6. I added coffee about 1 1/2 week post op. I started drinking decaf about 3 years ago, because caffenated coffe gave me heartburn. I have a Cuisinart single cup brewer and I love it. I use a smidge of fat free milk and splenda.

    January 2012 Sleevers!

Saw my nurse practioner and dietican (sp) yesterday. I can have protein shakes and smoothies until Friday then I can move on to low fat yougurt. low fat strained cream soups and skim milk. It is interesting what each doctor allows for each phase of recovery.
  8. I am 1 week post op and waiting for Auntie Flo to show! My cycle has been a little irratic - days early or days late so who knows! I stepped on the scale today and had only lost 1/2 lb, so here's hoping she due any day!

    Feeling Regret

Hey we are sleeve sisters! I was sleeved on Jan 23rd as well! I know excatly how you feel! At one point I thought OMG what have I done, but I think everyone that is going through the first stages feels this way. I can only tell you what has helped me. Warm tea with a little artifical sweetner, chicken broth, and sf popsicles. I tell myself that when I finish a good 4-6 oz of Isopure then Popcisle! I take my prilosec in the am with my tea. I had some nausea but the under the toungue tads prescribed by my doc really helped. I pray all the best for you and remember this too shall pass.
  10. Okay, I will never complaine about felling hungry again, because about 10 pm last night, I had the worst possible gas pains in my life! I was feeling a little weak yesterday so I didn't get up and walk alot. BIg mistake! I just kind of sat around feeling sorry for myself and Lord knows there are thing to be done around here! Any who, hubby and I were getting ready for bed and I told him I felt a "stitch" in my side, not bad but uncomfortable. The next thing I know I am doubled over in pain and thinking I'm going to die! After alot of walking and praying- "please God let this end!( I really need to be more specific when I pray!), warm tea and hubby pounding (gently)on my back, trying to "burp" me, I finally got some relief! This morning my tummy sounds like a thunderstorm, it's rumbling so much! I will be up and moving today!
  11. I completely understand! I'm still on clear liquids and waiting for the day when I can get to protein shakes! It's tough to get in 40 oz a day. I drank lots of water but I chugged it too! No more of that! Hang in there, I feel ya!
  12. Thanks so much! I take my prilosec in the am and I guess it is gas the non hurting kind! At least I'm 10 lbs down since I came home!
  13. I have been following my post op diet and I am so hungry! I am trying to get at least 40 grams of Protein a day but it goes right through me! I see my doctor on Tuesday, I hope I can make it! My diet is just Clear liquids till then UGH!
  14. January 23rd! I am nervous but excited! Started the pre op diet Dec 19th and I am dowm 22lbs. Just a drop in the bucket, but I am ready!

    I Cant Do This

Hi new granmother, I am in the same boat so to speak! I am 10 days dfrom my surgery and I went to see my nutrionist yeasterday. I have started to try and eat, drink and behave as if I have had surgery and it is hard! I have found that reading during meal times is a great help. Putting down my fork after taking a very small bite and chew, chew, chew! I hope this helps.
