Swallowing So Much Air When I Drink

Does anyone else have a problem with swallowing a lot of air when drinking/eating? I'm about 3 weeks post-op and still on full liquids, but I swallow so much air that I'm constantly burping or having gas pains. It's really uncomfortable. Any hints?
