I'm a 45-year-old wife and mother of two who's battled weight problems for the past 25 years. I'm an artist and I live in Morristown, New Jersey. Travel is my main vice, and I love big cities and remote countryside alike. It's a lot of fun to go into New York City and play "tourist" every few years and try to see things with the same wonder as those who are experiencing them for the first time.

My surgery was done by Dr. Alexander Abkin on December 16th at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He's an amazing doctor and the whole experience was wonderful, aside from the pain. My patient coordinator had people visit me to do alternative therapy like massage, accupressure and reiki, and it really helped with the pain more than the morphine pump.

It's going to be hard to say goodbye to some of my clothes that can't be tailored, and expensive to tailor the ones I'm not willing to let go like my bespoke hand-painted silks; but since I've always been a clothes horse, and high-end designer gear can be found relatively cheap around here (Two identical belts, one $800 and one $30 - the cheap one was last season's, per its code, so guess which one I bought? Too small for me so it was a gift.) so I'm going to have to watch it or I'll go broke! It's better than having no choices at all in my size, so I guess I'll have to learn restraint for the first time in decades. I'm looking forward to it!
