    Men Versus Women

I'm a newbie...I was recently sleeved on 2/14/12. I do agree that this is about a lifestyle change. I'm still on my liquids phase for another week. I haven't had any issues with getting sick or feeling regret. When I was in the hospital after my surgery, I couldn't stand the site of "Broth" or really any feed for a day or two. I did manage to start drinking some "Boosts" and a milk or two....Now I'm losing about 2lbs a day, I'm looking forward to my "puree" stage of my diet...My wife is wondering how I'm doing it.
  2. This is my first post on this site...And first of all let me just tell everyone "Thank You"! A friend of mine was sleeved back in October and I saw him working a Christmas Parade this past season and he looked great. Over the Christmas Hoidays, I researched the fool out of WLS options and all of you on this site helped me make the decision that a Vertical Sleeve was the right choice for me. I'm 41 and my BMI is 48.5. I'm very forunate to have great insurance. While on Holiday, I contacted my local WLS center and scheduled a consultation. My surgery date is Feb.14th (Talk about quick) The day was open and I thought it would be a great gift to my wife and kids. Now, let's talk about the Pre-Op Diet. I started on it yesterday, a day early, and it went fine. My diet consists of 4 Protein shakes a day with 1 small meal...Since cream is not on my menu, I am also giving up coffee. Today, I've had the worst headache in the world. I'm pretty sure its from the caffeine withdrawal. I'm hoping that this only lasts a few days...I felt so bad, that I actually hurled my 1 small meal about 2 hours after I ate it.... Bottom Line, I'm not giving up on my Pre-Op Diet...But I am looking for some advice on how to handle Caffeine Withdrawal....
  3. I was sleeved yesterday on Valentine's day. I wasn't quite prepared for all the gas pains that I had. The surgery went well and my doctor told me that I had one of the largest stomachs that he has come across. I still have one more night in the hospital. Tomorrow morning they will do an upper GI to make sure there are no leaks. I am so happy this part of my journey is over...

No Coffee + Preop Diet = Headache

Just checking back in...Just to let you know my headache was not as bad today...I still had a small one, but hopefully the Caffeine withdrawal is about over. I actually woke up on Day 3 of my Pre-Op Diet with lots of energy...When I stepped on the scale this morning, I've lost about 7 1/2 pounds over the first 2 days....And I feel Great!
