6 Mos Out - Pix - Frustration!
LBM replied to ahoy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a believer in gathering all the info you can, so thanks to all of the above for your good advice. When I hit the shelf, I'll keep these comments in mind. Ahoy, it's a shame you don't feel as good as you look. None of the illnesses you are battling are any worse or more dangerous than obesity, and look what a winner you are with that. Conquering weight is such a battle for life ... keep your eye on that prize, and the rest will surely be far easier wars to win. Best of luck. -
Protein Shakes And Fluid Count
LBM replied to Last Chance Sue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not to your stage yet but thinking ahead, it seems to me the protein shakes will be a virtual necessity to get in enough liquid along with the protein. -
I'm two weeks today, and had studied quite a lot before having the sleeve done. Two things I would like to have known in advance: - Get some unflavored protein powder. I live in a small town and can't find it so I had to order. And I use it a lot now. - Have a heating pad and use it on your abdomin; the warmth helps the gas permeate. Good luck!

Hungry After Surgery ... Anyone Else?
LBM replied to jewelwithin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In answer to your question, I had yogurt right away and milk around day 4. But I have no problem with dairy ... if you don't know whether you are lactose intolerant, wait a while to try. For me Greek yogurt has been a life saver; mix either vanilla or nonflavored powder into it. Stops the hunger strikes for me. -
4th Day Post--op And Can't Get Enough Water
LBM replied to melissa45154's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Melissa: I found that warmth on my abdomin helped a lot regarding gas (and it just felt good). A heating pad if you have one ... or put a damp towel in a Ziploc and microwave for a few seconds. -
I'm just two weeks in and I can already feel an increased weakness in the turkey wattle below my chin. Any ideas on chin exercises to help the skin keep up with the weight loss? Many thanks

Bionic Broad, I like your style. I may never look good in a bathing suit, but as look as I look good in my own head, who cares?

The idea of sagging skin nearly stopped me because I know that I will never afford follow-up surgery on that apron, those bat wings, etc. Shiver. I know exercise can help, but I admit the idea of being such a "loose woman" scares me.

Hungry After Surgery ... Anyone Else?
LBM replied to jewelwithin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been hungry in this phase, too. I actually felt better when I started drinking more hot liquids be it soup, warm milk, coffee or tea. Don't know why but I guess it feels more like real food. -
Gastric Sleeve Question Re: Enteric Asperin
LBM posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved a week ago. I know regular asperin is a no-no. But what about enteric asperin which dissolves in the intestine vs the tummy. Any input on this for me? Thanks! -
Gastric Sleeve Question Re: Enteric Asperin
LBM replied to LBM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, Swizzly. I find the Celebrex (the one they perscibed) is not up to the job. -
Different strokes. I love Greek yogurt. It is less slimey and more like real food!
