WEIGHT..MOTHER IN LAW ISSUES.
donewithdieting replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It sounds like you are using your weight as a reason your MIL acts weird. It's too bad she has a problem, it sounds like you are a great DIL. Don't let her problem/ behavior change you. Good Luck. -
Dr always says when you are ready. Might have to change positions and timing till you are totally healed but it can be done. Have fun and enjoy.

What to tell work people
donewithdieting replied to kooks3003's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The only people who know is my hubby and my Nurse Practiciner. No one elses business. When I was actively losing and people who would ask how- My line was "I am eating less and moving more--I hope I can keep it off this time". Worked everytime. And it was so true. Now that I'm losing again --slowly-- no one has noticed yet. Love Love wear smaller clothes. Good Luck -

furrychef----You told my story to a T. minus the rehab. Boy the pull to drink everyday is so strong. I even want a cigarette. I quit smoking in 1996. Last drink 3 weeks ago. This is a tough dependance. I hope I don't need rehab. Good Luck all

I loved my binder. I wore it 6 weeks. I really enjoyed the firm feeling I had wearingit especially at work. Tonight I saw them at walmart in the "as seen on tv" isle for 10.00. Not bad.

Why can't we donate blood?
donewithdieting replied to firelle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Never heard that. We are not sick or contagious. We are actually healthier. I would think they would encourage us to give. Anybody hear this before? -
I have to take a ducolax pill 2-3 x a week. It works for me.

You need a nutritionist and maybe a therapist to kinda figure things out with you. There should be so many more open doors for you now that you are not a "big guy" anymore. I don't know much of your life but it sounds like you are a little depressed. Therapy and maybe some meds can help that. Good Luck--feel better soon.

Horribly sad, but for the best. I've broken up with...
donewithdieting replied to VSGKirk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
WOW--Dish soap. I was hoping you would have said could only take a few lush bites and had to take the rest home for lunch tomorrow. Divorce is tough. Good Luck -
I had this surgery so that no food is cheating. I agree with above your tummy might just be too new for a greasy piece of meat, but the time will come that you will be able to eat 5-6 of them with out a problem. Before I would eat a 1/2 bag now 5 is usually enough. Gotta watch the "slider" foods though. Can have some but there has to be a limit on the amount. You are doing great. Keep working your sleeve.

Who would think eating more would make you lose weight, but it is so true. Your body does not like the "starvation" mode. Keep rocking your sleeve. -
Post surgery weight loss
donewithdieting replied to Chaparra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No this is possible. Most people have a really good 3 months then it starts to slow down. Enjoy the ride, and just follow the rules of eating and moving. Good Luck -
I started slow. A fancy glass of wine while organizing my closet, a glass while watching a favorite tv show. All of a sudden it was an everyday occurance got up to 2 bottles a night. Also gave me a feroious appetite. Ended up gaining 8#. Being in the health care industry every pang of pain I thought I was getting pancreatitis. Had to stop. Did not like the decisions I made, can't remember conversations I had when I was drinking. It just was not good. I'm on my 3rd full week no alcohol. Feels good to sleep deeply at night, and wake refreshed. I've lost 5 # also. My problem was realized in August. Hoping to stay sober forever and that means for me NO alcohol. Good Luck with what you choose. I never thought I would be a drunk. NO WAY.

I make these all the time. Holds up well to tuna fish, lunchmeat, Peanut Butter just great literally( ok --about .8) no carbs. If I take to work the fillling goes in a seperate container and made just before eating. 3 eggs (seperated) 1/4 tsp cream of tarter Whip egg whites and C.O.T. till peaks form. While they are whipping take the yolks and mix with three Tbls. of cottage cheese, and 1 pkt splenda. I just mash it with a fork. After they are whipped fold the yolk mixture gently into the whites. On a silpat make 6 mounds of egg fluff and spread out each to the size of a grapefruit. Bake 55min. at 300 degrees. Let cool. store in the refrig. in a plastic bag layered with paper towels between buns. Thats it these are great

Has anyone's incisions opened up?
donewithdieting replied to JP69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Had two of my small incisions open slightly. I was kinda expecting that knowing that fat does not have a good blood supply. I just kept mine clean, dry and covered. Healed (granulated) in less than 2 weeks. -
I am going to be very-- very honest. If you have ANY problem with addictions ie: smoking, eating, biting nails anything I enplore you NOT to drink any alcohol after your WLS. Before I had my surgery I read and researched alot. This information about alcohol was brought up. I personally did not drink much (maybe a glass of wine a couple times a month) Never drank for 27 years. No desire/need to. Well fast forward to today, I drink wine every single day alot. Gained 10# since August. And now I want a cigarette ( I quit 16 years ago). The pull to addicition is so strong every single day it drives me crazy. Now to take a look at me and my life you would never think I would ever have a problem. I now doing research on alcoholism. ICK this is no fun that I changed addictions. If anyone who reads this gets this please please please do not even start with alcohol. NEVER EVER thought it could happen to me. Good Luck

donewithdieting replied to New in 2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I have an allergy to whey, I already two allegra a day. My reaction is my face gets red, and I have to scratch my face. I try to stay away from whey but it is hard. I didn't realize it was whey till after surgery, your diet is so limited it was easy to determine. Good Luck Just watch for breathing problems.
