When did you feel hungry again?
zephyr replied to PittGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a year out and I still don't feel real hunger. I just have set eating times. -
has this happened to anyone else?
zephyr replied to vicki s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me a year to lose 75#'s I am disabled and can't walk so I don't burn calories very fast. I averaged only about 14 lbs every 3 months. However I lost 75 #'s in a year! I didn't break any speed records. But I lost. You will lose too. Don't lose heart. -
How did you feel 10 weeks after surgery?
zephyr replied to scoresmore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt great 10 weeks post-surgery. I'm sure you'll be fine. Happy travels. -

Opps forgot to suggest meals...sexy shrimp scampi is a good one and can be found on the internet. the campbells website has good chicken and Soup recipes. Chili is good. Pasta e fagoli with ground beef is good. I added the with ground beef because many pasta e fagoli recipes are vegetarian.

By my 7th week I was basically eating everything. My pouch has tolerated food very well. I know what you mean about variety. I didn't have a restricted solid food phase. Every doctor/program is different. Right or wrong I'm basically eating normal just a lot less.
-
I didn't have any trouble with hot and spicy foods. It probably varies person to person. All you can do is try. Good luck!
-
I don't see why not.

is it normal to not have your tastebuds change? my surgery went really well. I have no nausea or vomiting. i sometimes wonder if i really had the surgery cause everything seems to be going so well for me. lol. I did have two bleed outs from my main port and had to have transfusions but other than that im doing fantastic. Mine is a real success story. but i do wonder about my tastebuds not changing.

How Soon Were You Off Your Meds ?
zephyr replied to Big Lou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 weeks pre-op for my blood sugar medication. -
btw my bleed out was very rare not life threatening just annoying, dont want to scare you.
-
chapstick...though my hospital supplied it. I went in on Thursday and was out on Sunday, though I should have been out Saturday. They kept me an extra day because I bled out twice and had to have 2 pints of blood.

my Dr doesn't do a pureed stage. He said just chew.
-
it's burned up as energy.

Meat, eggs, low-fat cheese. Broccolli, cauliflower, basically any non-starchy vegetables, stay away from potatoes, pasta, and rice.

Lovenox is for the prevention of blood clots. I don't believe it has anything to do with BMI. Because I can't walk I was supposed to take the shots for a month after surgery. However, because I had 2 bleed outs in the hospital and required 2 pints of blood, they decided not to put me on Lovenox since it is a blood thinner.
