At A Bmi Of 20 Now! Unexpected Depression/anxiety
wanna replied to sirensiren's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm only 4 days out but am worried about emotional eating. All my life every family celebration, holday or just casual get together involves mountains of food. I'm hoping that as I lose the satisfaction will keep me honest. Right now I live 2500 miles from them so every meal at home is a banquet when we visit. -
CaliAmber did you have surgery at saint b's? I also had mine on 10/11.How are the fluids doing? I Find that I can only do 10 ml at a time. The nausea is gone at least.

Chad, the scopalomine helped within minutes. They had forgotten to place it in recovery. I am home now for about 20 min. Daughter made sf jello. A little goes a long way. Who'd have thought jello could be so filling -

Waiting to be admitted. I sent my daughter to school. No reason for her clinical . surgery scheduled at 11:30. Guess I'm getting a little nervous for the first time. -
Here in Mo Valley. Surgery tomorrow with Dr Fadorka. I' ve been a nurse for more years than I like to admit to but am having trouble switching to patient. Don't want to be the patient who brings her whole house but neither do I want to forget whats important. Everything at home seems to be set except taking the.dogs to the sitters, which means I still have 6 dogs to bath and groom. 4 are up.fot adoption. Any takers?

Ever Feel Like Surgery Can't Come Soon Enough?!
wanna replied to Babysteppin's topic in Rants & Raves
my surgery is schedules for next thursday, oct 11. I'm not sure how to feel. I don't know if I'm supposed to be excited or scared. Guess I'll have to wait and see. -
finally got appointments and a surgery date. I almost had to take the classes over again. I'm not nervous at this point but that's what makes me nervous. I like Dr Fadorka, he spent a lot of time with me and answered all my daughters questions, but I'd like to know more about his reputation. my surgery is on oct 11.

Thanks< I guess I'm more nervous than I thought. How long did you have to stay in the hospital?

I received a referral for wls in july/aug of 2011 through kaiser permanente. I was able to start the options classes in september and completed in december. I wasn't able to get in for my mental health evaluation until march, saw the doctor for evaluation (again) until may. After weekly calls I finally got an appointment with the surgeon for today, august 20,2011, a YEAR after referral. I had to get 3 people at work to switch days around and ended up working nights to get to my appointment. Got to the office 20 min early only to be informed that my appointment had been cancelled and I had been notified that morning. WRONG. I was notified, 40 minutes after my appointment was scheduled. They had already rescheduled me for another appointment, without asking if I could make it. If I turn it down it could be another 2 months before I get another. So I guess I'll be trying to switch shifts around again or have to put it off until they have an appointment that I can go to without problems. I'm just sick of waiting.I've already waited so long that I had to have my lab work done again (11 tubes). I just can't see an end. And when I got home and told my family what happened all they said was "that's to bad. Did you go to the grocery store?" I guess that tells me how much support I'll be getting after surgery.

My Journey So Far With Kaiser
wanna replied to MonkeyNurse's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I also completed the options program at Fontana. My last class was december 21. Finally recieved a call for preliminary exam last week. Am scheduled for my mental health eval on march 12. I was told that I would meet with the surgeon about a week after. Final clearance with pcp after, hopefully surgery 2-3 weeks after. I'm still concerned about taking time off. I do work at kaiser and they've been great but I haven't old anyone at work my plans, only a few close friends and my daughter. The only problem I have is the requirement for us to attend a support group. I don't like to talk about my private life in front of a lot of strangers, or for that matter a few. I like this site due to the privacy (or illusion) -
Dissapointment ... First Personal Training Session
wanna replied to Greeneyedgirl's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I'm recently been recovering from a broken elbow that had to be pinned so I made use of my physical thearapist for all my questions. He said for toning use lighter weights (5-10 max) but more repetitions. -
Do you really need to take so much time off work? My schedule varies and I have a 6 day stretch off, wouldn't that be enough?

I'm 52, 5-6 and 263lbs. I am a nurse but work only with infants, if any lifting at all it usually isn't over 5 lbs. I can also keep water with me.
