Anyone in the Dallas Ft. Worth area about to have surgery or on liquids want some free cans of soup? I have 10 cans of chicken broth to give away. I bought way to much b4 surgery. Msg me if interested.

Yes, very common mistake. I don't want it to go to waste. I'll take them to a food bank if I don't get any takers.

When Did You Start To Really Notice?
carbgrl replied to aaron1976's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
40 lbs has always been the magic number for me. Even though I've hardly lost any lbs this month all of a sudden I had to start buying smaller tops. I'm an apple so I had already gone down in jean sizes before. -
My low back looks like it has two pair of saggy boobs!

From Day 2. -
Those that have had it taken out, do you have any problems or have to watch diet such as fats?
-
Maybe its head hunger but I never lost my hunger. I take acid reducer. I never forget to eat. It is more managable though.

I'm taking an exam for work today. I really haven't given myself enough time to study because I've been working so much. I going to go ahead and try tho. It'd make me feel better if there are ppl out there wishing me luck and cheering me on.

Thank you ladies. It means a lot to me.

Awesome! Congrats! -
I take 5000 mcg biotin twice a day. I think thats the max allowed. My hair has thinned but maybe not as bad as it could have been. It still bothers me of course.
-
In case you were wondering what thinning hair looks like. I used to never be able to see my scalp. Ugh! I'm 5 mos post op.

I had a similar episode. I chalked it up to a "dumping" episode. I'm starting to wonder if its my gallbladder. I haven't lost that much weight & it sure as heck hasn't been fast. I did have a high fat meal before the episode. What do you experts with prior GB issues think?

Yes, Dooter we did have surgery about the same time. Sometimes I think it's not that bad and sometimes I'm freaking out. I keep getting all my protein & tons of vitamins and hope its starts to grow back quickly.
-
It's from all over but more noticable in front/ top/ crown. I'm using stress as an excuse because I have been working ALOT and work is very stressful. I havent used Nixion before but have used Folicure by the same company. It made my hair look so bad style wise I couldnt stand using it. I guess I'll have to try it.
-
Yep. I keep protein at at least 80 grams per day and been taking biotin since about 2 weeks before surgery in addition to a multi and other B vitamins, fish oil, vitamin E, B5 and B12...

Low Bmi-Ers, Happy With Bougie Size? Any Regrets?
carbgrl replied to mattr2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started out needing to lose 66 lbs. I was a low BMI-er. My bougie was 36. I believe 32-34 is more common. My doctor feels 36 has less complications a lower risk for leaks. Aside from the day of surgery, I didn't have any problems getting my fluids down. I'm not one of sleevers that could only eat a couple of bites. I've been eating at least 4 oz since the mushy stage. I can eat about 6 oz now. I've always been a slow loser plus I'm a revision. I wish my weightloss was faster but, I'm happy I didn't have any complications or issues getting enough water & protein in. I don't think you're over thinking it. I think it's something important you should discuss with your doctor. Good luck. -
Finally made it to 25 lbs to goal. Seems so close yet so far.
