Thanks. I'm one week out. I called the doctor's office and the Med Asst said it should be ok as long as I can drink ok and I'm not nauseous or stuck. She recommended drinking someting warm to help dissolve it. She said she'd text the doctor. It doesn't hurt. I can feel it but it's not uncomfortable. I'm just freaked out.

Is course black pepper ok in the first stages? Or is it to much like a seed? How long are seeds off limits?

Feel Like Needles Are Sticking Out Of Me In Different Spots - What Is This?
carbgrl replied to SleevePirate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you seen the staples? They showed us some in our preop nut class. They're tiny. Not at all what I was picturing. -
For those who are keeping your sleeve private. What do you say when out to lunch / dinner with friends, co-workers, business meetings... With the band even waiter/ waitresses say that's ALL your eating?

Well, My Dad's Not Very Happy.
carbgrl replied to justkeepsmiling's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You poor thing. I'm sorry you're going through all this. Don't give up though. Take deep breaths, take care of yourself. I agree if you can't talk to your Dad, try to find a job with insurance. It make take time and take longer but, it's not impossible. You're an adult and it's your decision. Hugs. -

I agree. You don't have to be done unless you want to be. Switch things up. Try a new exercise, change up the diet,... -

Are you keeping a food diary? How many calories are you having per day? Have you talked to your surgeon? Any exercise? Even a 5 min walk is a start to build on. -

Info On How Much I Shouldn't Be Eating Right Now Surg 2-6
carbgrl replied to mommy794's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm struggling with this too. I had surgery on 02/09/12. I understand further along we should have 2-4 oz per meal when we get to solids but does that count for purees too? It doesn't seem to be enough. I'm feeling pretty hungry. I am having quite a bit of acid reflux/ heartburn and I'm hoping that's what giving me that hungry feeling. Does it take awhile to get rid of the hunger hormone that's already in your stomach at the time of surgery? -
Glad you're doing good and painfree. You'll be out of there in no time.

Wtheck? No More Adult Liquid Tylenol
carbgrl posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to two pharmacies and a couple of grocery stores. I finally asked at the 2nd pharmacy. They don't make it anymore. It must be very recent because I still had a little bit left in the last bottle I bought. Here's a link to their customer service if you want to tell them what you think about it. https://www.tylenol.com/vcrc/email/tyemailform.jhtml?id=email -
A New Lease Through Sleeve!
carbgrl replied to HappyLoser's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats Victoria. I was sleeved on 02/09/12 too. Our stats are fairly close so it'll be interesting to see how we progress. I'm 5.5" and weighed 201 lbs (91.4 kgs) on the date of my surgery. We've lost about the same amount so far. I've lost 4 lbs ( 1.8kgs). I did have some other health conditions. I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and scared about getting diabetes. Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing. -
Unflavored Protein Powder
carbgrl replied to TheRealMeIsHere!'s topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I've liked Vanilla Designer Whey for years. I add fruit to it, or add coffee for a frap flavor, sf chocolate, cinnamon for a eggnog type drink, banana, pumpkin... so many possibilities. I also use, water and ice with it to make smoothies. -
How soon after surgery is it ok to drive?

Eggface has receipes for making protein ice cream if you have an ice cream maker. It's good. It's nice to know where to get some quick in case of an "emergency".

I've had a couple of coughing fits today. It feels like I've busted a gut or God forbid popped a staple. I tried so hard to cough. It seems like that makes it much worse. I had a pillow on my abdomin but, I'm scared I may have caused damage. I'm sucking on SF cough drops now. Anyone else have this problem?

My husband too. I'm 3 days post op and he ate a big cookie frosting sandwich right next to me. He also got some breakfast cookie things ate them in front of me and told me how great they are. It was almost as if he's doing it on purpose for me to see all the stuff I can't have. He even asked if I was going to make him a big chocolate cake for Valentines day. Since I'm going to be off work and all. He's diabetic. He doesn't needed it either. We were trying to decide where to eat and he said he didn't want to eat Mexican. That's about the only resturant type I know I can get chicken broth soup. Most other resturants (that I know of) have thick cream type soups, cheese & broccoli, potato.. I'm sure they will all be great in a few more days/weeks. After I explained I can't eat creamy soups he finally agreed to go to a Mexican resturaunt. When at a big heavy door, I have to stand there and wait for him to open the door. Why doesn't he just automatically just open it for me?
