  1. How long did it take to get to your goal? I understand we're all different but trying to get an estimate. So far it's been realy slow.
  2. Thanks sleeve for me. We're the same height too so that helps. BTW, love your pics. Great smile.
  3. Precious, I think 40 lbs in 6wks is great! I'm sorry you're vomiting. I haven't had any problems eating at all. I haven't vomited or even felt like I was close to vomiting yet. I feel like I could eat anything but, I'm trying not to.

    What Makes Us Fail?

I haven't gotten to my goal with the sleeve yet but, in the past all the times I lost weight (50-80 lbs) I always re-gained because 1) I quit weighing myself- out of sight out of mind. That made it easy to gain because I was ignoring the problem. 2) I also would quit exercising. I think reason is the diet mentally. I would think well I'm done dieting I can quit doing the things that got me to or close to my goal: consciously watching my weight, healthy eating, and exercising. I also think staying active with support (like this site) helps me to stay focused on my goals. This time, I'm going to be extremely vigilent at least for the first year of maintenance. Please help hold me to it.
  5. Thanks wannabe but, I've only lost 10 lbs since my surgery. I did lose 10 lbs on the pre-op diet but, I really don't count those because they are the same 10 lbs I gained from the time of my 1st consultation appt until my the start of my pre-op diet. They took the Fluid out of my lapband at the consultation. I guess to give my stomach a break before surgery. So, I've lost 10 lbs so far in 3 weeks 2 days. Maybe I'll lose another 10 lbs this week. Ha, ha. Oh well, I'll take something over nothing any day.

    Let's Talk Wig

I don't know anything about wigs but, have you tried the hair "makeup"? It's a powder like eyeshadow but it helps darken your scalp so hair loss isn't as noticeable.
  7. Wow Jailynn! That gives me hope! How many calories do you usually have per day and how much exercise?
  8. I have no idea but I hope it gets better and you figure it out. Can you call and ask your doctor about it without going in for a visit?

    Medical Bracelets

The hospital where I had surgery gave me a little business card that has a picture of what a sleeved stomach looks like with liver and intestines on the front. On the back it says this person has had surgery to reduce the size of the stomach to hold 3 oz or less... it's the same one you can use at a resturant but, they told me to keep it behind my drivers license in case of an emergency. I was thinking about writing "VSG SX" on the back of my license with a sharpie. I believe the main concern in an emergency is an NG tube could cause damage.

    Less Of Leslie

The dress looks great. That was so nice.
  14. I don't understand how I can have a slight gain (8 oz) from yesterday to today. My total calories yesterday were 800. Drank all my water and burned about 200 cals walking (w/ hills). This not that TOM. Ugh!!!

  17. The crunch of sf tropical frozen popsicles helped some. I was on full liquids for the first two weeks post op.

    8 Months Out

Wow! 115lbs in 8 mos. You look fabulous. Do you have any tips for us newbies? What's a typical day's meal plan? How much are you exercising?
  19. I agree with getting labwork. Maybe hypothyroidism or something else. Take care!
  20. Wow! 81 lbs!!!! You look great too! Any advice for us newbies?
  21. I'm about 2 1/2 wks out and I've had no problems getting liquids in since I got home from the hospital. No problems with mushies at all. Does this mean my sleeve is bigger, I'm healing much faster, or am I stretching my sleeve by eating/ drinking to much?? I kinda envy those who are tight.
  22. Congrats! You you great. I hope I can lose that much in a month. Thanks for sharing.
