great job! How tall are you by the way? -
An honest question. Why are we here?
MoonSiren replied to EweLewz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was a food addict and still am but the sleeve prevents me from overeating too much. I slipped around the holidays and gained 30 lbs back because I kept eating slider foods. I didn't think I could gain weight back after being sleeved but I sure learned my lesson. Now I track everything I put in my mouth and eat under 1200 calories a day. I make sure that I exercise at least 30 minutes daily as well. I have anxiety too and take meds for it, which increases my appetite. -
awesome good for you!!
-
I felt like that too at first but it goes away after a couple months. Don't eat to fill full, eat until you are no longer feeling hungry or empty inside.I hate the too full feeling.
-
great job!! I'm now a medium and going towards a small when before, only 4x would fit. YAY!!!
-
I made this last night but put in almond flour (ground up almonds) so it was thicker and tasted more like bread. It was very filling. I could only eat 2 small slices.
-
Last night I made tuna salad with greek yogurt and put in some horseradish mustard for a kick. It turned out really good and tasted better than putting greasy mayo in there.
-
What does this end up tasting like? Bread at all??

Share your "slow loss" success!
MoonSiren replied to clk's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The first 6 months I lost 100 lbs then when I lost my job I gained 30 lbs because I kept eating so many slider foods due to depression. Now I've lost 10 lbs of that and trying to go back down with a new lifestyle change of eating low carb and high protein. -
Do you have any co-morbidities like sleep apnea, diabetes, etc? They will cover it at 35 if so. I was perfectly healthy with a BMI of 42 so was covered with no problem.
-
I can't believe it that I'm overweight and no longer obese!! This is great! I don't know why I'm so happy about being overweight but I am. BMI is less than 30!!!! I used to be 42 before surgery.

Thanks all for the encouragement and support.

It is cheaper to eat only an appetizzer or off the children's menu. You could even share a meal with someone.

Sleeve Vs Bypass
MoonSiren replied to READY TO LOSE IT's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I think I would of had the bypass if I did it all over again. The reason is that I crave carbs and fatty foods so can eat a ton of them with the sleeve. I only feel full if I eat meat. -
Hi! Here is my before and after picture since having the surgery. My starting weight was 330 and now I'm 225 as of this morning. I was sleeved on December 6th 2011.

Yes I have had excessive hair loss. Luckily no more is falling out but its really thin compared to what im used to.

I'm always feeling that way! I can't eat much so thank God for that or I'd be 400 lbs again.

1 Year Out - Hair Falling Out And Weight Gain
MoonSiren posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! It's been almost 1 year out (sleeved Dec 6th 2011) and I think I'm just gaining weight back. My lowest was 205 in the summer but now I weigh 235!! I had a rough summer with getting laid off so gained back some weight because of it and could not afford my vitamins. I got a new job now so am trying to lose weight again and taking the vitamins. My hair is falling out so is now very thin. I'm used to having a thick head of hair. Right now I put myself on a liquid diet for awhile so I can lose the 30 lbs and get back on track. I feel I should have lost way more by now so feel like a failure. My weight before surgery was 300+ and highest I been was 400. I'm still glad that I had the sleeve because there is no way I could have lost 70 lbs on my own. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get back on track? -
No way. That would be very rude and might make them feel bad. I know I would if someone did that to me when I was huge. Just saying!
-
I've lost lots of hair myself so now its very thin. I have no bald spots so I think my hair is regrowing. It looks awful but I rather have the weight gone then thick hair.

I Haven't Been Here In Awhile! Update!
MoonSiren posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi VST friends! I haven't been on here in a month so just letting you all know what's going on. I started exercising 30+ minutes every single day (walking, playing Zumbaa on kinect, swimming, and weight lifting) and have noticed I'm melting off the pounds faster. Before I was losing 1-2 pounds a week but now it jumped up to 5 since last week!!!!! I can now fit into REGULAR WOMEN SIZE 12 TOPS and 16 BOTTOMS!! I've always been bottom heavy like a pear but am now a smaller one. (: I could fit into a size 12 dress that had a pleated skirt too. I used to have to wear plus size 26 at 300 lbs before my weight loss and my largest size was 32 at 400 lbs. When I try on my size 32 pants, I can fit my whole body in one leg!! Everyone should consider the sleeve. It is the best procedure in my opinion. I can eat sweets when I want and not have dumping. Of course, I will crave the sweets but a spoonful or a bite will satisfy me and I toss away the rest. I eat 4 oz of meat and some veg and then I feel comfortably full like I just had Thanksgiving dinner. I always LOVED the feeling of being warm and full so would overeat until I got there before surgery. The down side is that I burp nearly after every meal for 5-10 minutes and if I eat too quickly food will get stuck. I take papaya chewables so that helps a bit to get the food down. I can't eat dry food like chips, crackers, pretzels, dry meat without some kind of sauce, and Cookies. It just gets stuck and hurts my chest until I burp it up. I can't eat any bread either because it makes me feel sick. I can only tolerate a few pinches of ultra soft mushy bread. I get constipation a lot because I'm eating so much Protein every day too. I was afraid that my hair would fall out but it didn't. I had been taking Biotin and eating 80-90 protein every day to prevent this. I look forward to losing more and more weight until I hit my goal of 150 lbs!! -
I Haven't Been Here In Awhile! Update!

I have loose skin on my arms, belly and thighs but I think it will tighten over time. If not, there is always plastic surgery. I started the Zumbaa game on XBOX Kinect two weeks ago. I will take the class option on there on moderate level. -
SF popsicles are more like liquids so you can eat as much as you want. I've eaten 4 of them in one sitting before
