Just Got Sleeved.... And The Scale Is Not Moving Yet?
MoonSiren replied to imknothatgirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Give it time. I had a pre op liquid diet so lost like 10 lbs in a week before my surgery date. After surgery, I was still on liquids so lost like 8 lbs the first week with minimal exercise. -
December 2011 Sleevers Update
MoonSiren replied to ChunkyAndFluffy75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't weighed myself in 2-3 weeks but can now fit in size 18 pants. Before they were kinda tight and wouldn't zip up. Now, they fit like a glove! I haven't fit into this size since jr. high school. I'm so happy! I never eat bread and am very strict on carbs. I did eat a small piece of cake for a birthday and a cookie at this superbowl party. I couldn't believe I ate it and felt so guilty afterward. I haven't been eating gluten or processed sugar so imagine my surprise when I got a sick lethargic feeling afterward. I think I may have lost 50 lbs including the pre op diet but will know for sure when I weigh myself tonight. -
Banded And Sleeved..... Anyone?
MoonSiren replied to waygook's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know why you'd need the band. I can barely eat even half of a kid's meal. Do people stretch their sleeves out that bad? I never heard of this option. -
I got an Xbox kinect on Cyber Monday this year and really love exercising with it. I only have the Kinect Adventures game, Fruit Ninja, and Gun slinger but am going to get some more on pay day. It is really great for working out indoors when it is cold out. I feel embarrassed going to a gym right now because I think people are looking at me and judging how fat I am. I was walking outside in the Spring and Summer but it is so cold out to do that now. I hope using the Kinect will get me exercising more.

It's Girl Scout Cookie Season....aaarrrrgggghhh!
MoonSiren replied to apw0's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so glad I no longer crave sweets or I would not be able to help myself when I come in contact with these. When I was a Brownie, I'd get my mom to order a ton and then eat most of them. -
New And Considering The Sleeve
MoonSiren replied to Crusher75060's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I use to love carbs too but now I don't eat any because it bloats up my sleeve. I only eat nuts, meat, vegtables, fruit and protein drinks now. I think the sleeve would help get your eating under control. I tried the HCG too and yes, you do just gain all the weight back and more so. It is such a scam! Everyone I know has gotten heavier after doing HCG. Best luck to you in whatever you end up deciding. The sleeve was the right choice for me! -
I didn't know people young as 16 were getting this done. I wish I could have done it when I was 16. Think of how different my life would have turned out.. I might even be married with kids right now.

I went through that too but when I started losing a ton of weight, it was all worth it. Buy a lot of bottled water or get the Sobe lifewaters to make sure you keep hydrated!!

What Is Your New Addiction?
MoonSiren replied to medicgipson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would have to say doing artwork is my new addiction. Before, I'd get home and sit in front of the TV all day but now I feel more productive. I still need to get in the habit of walking when I get home but I'm always too tired. -
Omg Anyone With Sizr 12 Clothes To Give
MoonSiren replied to june13sleever's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yeah I need size 18 pants badly myself so will check out the thrift stores. -
Yeah no kidding! Those chews are very pricey. When I'm done with my bags, I am going to Sams to get the chocolate calcium chews there. I had a sample of one and it was really tasty and went down nicely.

What good advice. I've used that site for 4 years now back when it was called The Daily Plate.com. I think it is the best calorie counting site ever and it even has an app for your Smartphone. I don't have an addiction to food anymore! I used to LOVE sweets and craved chocolate, cookies, cakes, pies, etc but now I just want one bite if I see them around me. After that one bite, I'm satisfied and don't want anymore. It is so weird.

[Part 2] Can't Stop Spitting
MoonSiren replied to SoGastric's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are salivating like that because your body is telling you that it needs food. Can you request a feeding tube unti they discover what the problem is? -
6 Weeks Out, Feeling Good, But Weight Loss Is Really Slowing Down
MoonSiren replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm now 7 weeks out and have noticed my weight loss is slowing down too. I think it is because I started eating solid foods instead of mushies and liquids. On the liquid phase I lost tons of weight fast so might go back to liquids for a few weeks if I don't start losing more soon. -
Why Am I Feeling Light Headed?
MoonSiren replied to Bcole's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah it could be dehydration. -
Yes it is a big scam and placebo. Eating 500 puts your body into ketosis, which curbs hunger naturally. People gain back all the weight once they starting eating normally.

Possible Erosion....something Has Changed....
MoonSiren replied to PEvette's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm so glad I didn't go for the band. That sounds so scary. My prayers are with you! -
"cheating" (A Concern)
MoonSiren replied to Indymom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get urges to cheat but then I dismiss the junk food as carbs and will only make my body burn them instead of the fat. I rather lose the fat than eat useless carbs. Now when I buy something, I make sure it has 20 or less carbs a serving in it or I won't have it in the house. I think I'm doing pretty good! I had a free lunch at Sam's club today of the different samples such as applewood smoked bacon, oranges, melon, and stuffed mushrooms. I was so full for hours afterward. -
Thanks everyone. I'm glad that it is common and I don't have a leak or something serious. I felt so much pain that it scared me.

Today was so frightening because I had an egg yolk get stuck in my throat. I felt sooo much pain and discomfort. I began getting foam in my mouth so ran to the bathroom ecause I felt like i was gonna throw up. Just the foam came out, no stomach acid which alarmed me. Finally the bright yellow egg yolk was coughed up. I felt better right away but kept burping. I guess the yolk was too dry. I hadn't tried to eat one yet, just eating egg whites. Is this a common experience when you eat dry or powdery food? Why did only foam come out and no acid? How can food digest if I have no acid?

Protein - What Is It Doing Other Than Constipating Me?
MoonSiren replied to gettingtohappy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The doctor told me that you can only absorb 30g of protein in an hour so maybe drink half of that 50g protein drink in the morning and save the rest for lunch. That way it may be easier to get in your system. Right now, I'm eating 60-80g of protein a day and very low carbs. I have so much more energy and feel better on days where I eat lots of protein. I ate some proteined oatmeal for breakfast this morning at 7 am and don't even feel hungry at all, instead I feel full. -

Hating The Greek Yogurt Any Other Suggestions? Your Favorites?
MoonSiren replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You didn't even like the Oikos fruit on the bottom? I think those are soo good. They also have Chobani Champions, a kid- friendly Greek yogurt that is much sweeter. -
I use a Kinect on the Xbox for exercise when it is too cold outside to walk. Your body is the controller so you don't need to hold a remote or have leg straps. I got Just Dance 2 , Kinect Adventures, Gunslinger, and Fruit Ninja.
