HORRIFIC FILL experience right now.
Madeline's mom replied to Nykee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hydrocodone is Not a nonsteroidal so it is safe to take with the band! -
Try drinking as much water as possible because water thins the secretions in the lungs so you can cough it up easier. Hope you are feeling better real soon!

HORRIFIC FILL experience right now.
Madeline's mom replied to Nykee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sue, you can certainly take ibuprofen for headaches but please keep in mind that non-steroidal antiinflammatories deplete the cytoprotective layer in the stomach increasing your risk for ulcer formation. If you have an ulcer while you are banded erosion my result and you know what that means. In addition all nsaids are acidic and can cause direct irritation to the stomachs mucosal layer. So I just wanted you to understand why banded people generally try to avoid nsaids like ibuprofen. -
I guess it depends what time your appt is. I was told that the pouch needed to be empty to get adequate restriction. So I would assume that it would be best to only eat breakfast if you had an afternoon appointment. Best of luck on your first fill.

Paula, She looks adorable is this her first dance recital?

You do not look like a toothless drunken hooker! You look like a cute little girl having a great time in her dance recital! Was that a ballet recital?

Pati-o, I have a pug and he is really putting on weight. I have been giving him the weight control Iams but he just eats too much of it! I have been told to 1 - 1/2 cups of dry weight control food ONCE daily and that is supposed to aid weight loss. My vet also instructed me to walk him daily.

Explain your perfect restriction and how much you could eat
Madeline's mom replied to Monica's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me adequate restriction is being able to eat adequate some meat with out too much difficulty and getting mostly full from eating that meat. I like that I can eat my lunch or supper and not have room for something sweet(even though I may want it.) -
Welcom MagnoliaMiss, And it is great to have another fellow Mississippian on this board. Where in Mississippi do you live and what surgeon did you use? I live in North Mississippi (Southaven).

I used to always tell myself that I would start my diet tommorow and hope that I would have more will powere the next day. Thankfully, with my band I don't have to wait until tommorow to hope for a better day- I can do it today!

I ate clear broths mostly for first week. Swanson make a vegetable broth that is really good, I also liked the french onion. I drank water and gatorade or apple juice. After that I did cream of mushroom and cream of chikcen soups until I progressed to mushies. Hope that helps. Welcome to bandland and hope your recovery is speedy!

Betty, Those are amazing pictures. I especially liked the different kinds of viewing options. You can really see something is not right in those ones that are tight! -

Who was discouraged and isn't anymore?
Madeline's mom replied to Alexandra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can honestly say I am very pleased with my band. I know there is no way in hell I could have lost 36 pounds in less than 3 months. The only thing I have problems with is when I hit a plateu( I am on my second) I fear that I will never get below that weight. So yesterday I did a search on pleateus and found this cool pleateu busting diet and am going so if it works! -
HORRIFIC FILL experience right now.
Madeline's mom replied to Nykee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I experienced something similiar to this after my second fill. I started vomiting and could not stop. I stoped it by not eating or drinking for 12 hours then I slowly would sip some gatorade very slowly. I used some liquid Zantac b/c I could not swallow anything either. After 24 hours of liquids only I took a very small prednisone dose of to help with the swelling. I would drink liquids very slowly and ate at soup for 2 days. Then after 3 days of liquids only I would have one meal only of mushies. After 5 days I was back to normal. See if your Dr. will call you in a small amount of Prednisolone liquid for you sciatica and for the swelling from the fill all the Pbing. Also Morphine is not available in a patch but it is available in a liquid form. The only pain medication that I know of available in a patch is Duragesic (fentanyl). Anything solid you swallow will cause more PBing so try and stay away from pills if you can until you can get this situation resolved. -
What foods do you find difficult to eat?
Madeline's mom replied to aileena's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
BBQ pork, eggrolls, bread. I have not tried pasta or rice but I am not even going to try! -
Question reagrading PB'ing
Madeline's mom replied to BeckyinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you can avoid PBing that is best. I have heard of people having to get all the saline removed and or having the band removed due to excessive PBING. Especially in the first 6 weeks after band surgery. The band is not in place and PBing can cause migration of the band or slippage. You may not experience any episodes of PBing until you have saline added to your band! PBing is always a sign that you have done something wrong(eaten too fast or eaten the wrong thing) -
Plus I would not want to get stuck having to use this paticular office for my after care. Just remember getting the band is only half the step the other half requires getting you to the appropriate level of restriction. It sounds like they really dont care about their patients at all!

I still cant get past the taste to use splenda or nutrasweet! I'll just have use my sugar in moderation!

Jaime, Virgos typically are intelligent people known for their level-headedness. They like order and are known for their charm and dignity. Virgos tend to be less emotional than other signs.

I was born on the cusp between pisces and aquarious- but I really fit the typical aqurian profile. My coworkers have nicknamed me the absent minded professor. How can you be out to lunch and still be obessive? Must be that picses/aquarian mix!
