Low BMI with excess skin.
Swimmer replied to noellegz1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a bmi of about 37/38 almost a year ago and i have lost 90 pounds and am about a 23 bmi now. I'm 40 and while there is some loose skin it's not horrific. I'm still debating if I'll pursue plastics or not. Good luck. -
How far out were you when you were able to tolerate lettuce or salad? I'm seven weeks too early? Thanks!

Lossing Too Much Of The Wrong Thing
Swimmer replied to MoreganK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine started to really fall out a lot at 3/4 months and it didn't slow down until 8 months. It was awful and scary, but it will grow back and you won't go bald. Hang in there. -
Do You Still Look Forward To Food Or Enjoy It?
Swimmer replied to Bryan Whitson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Interesting question. I'm almost nine months out, down 75 and ten pounds to goal. I will preface this with the fact I don't consider myself really a food addict pre surgery. I have a horrible metabolism. My relationship with food is still however very different. I love cooking more now than before. I love planning and cooking. I don't eat much, but can pretty much eat anything. I am choosy because I have so little room. I naturally crave much healthier food and fried food even the thought if it makes me sick. I feel very normal and already hardly remember all the liquid and purées anymore. I just feel normal. It's much easier than I expected. Good luck. -
One Day Away! I'm So Scared....
Swimmer replied to msvsg4ever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know I felt the exact same way. Now eight months later and 14 pounds from goal it all is a distant memory and the new freedoms this surgery brought about are amazing. You'll do great and you can do this. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself, ever. Hang in there. -

How Many Times Did You Make Yourself Sick....
Swimmer replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At seven months I've done it twice, both timed early on. I can't remember the last time. I learned to eat very slowly and that not drinking when you eat is a rule for a reason. -
How wonderful that is really what it's all about!

Vet Sleevers Question....about Feeling Full
Swimmer replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm seven months out and it seems like more of a regular full, but I've learned to eat slowly and very small bites. I hate that over full feeling and I eat so slowly now that it just doesn't happen much at all anymore. But if I over eat it still hurts and is uncomfortable like shortly after surgery. Best wishes. -
Congrats. I gained 12 pounds with surgery. It took over a week to get it off and by two weeks the swelling was better. Best wishes. It will start coming off again. For me it was all the Iv fluids.

New Here And New To Sleeve Surgery
Swimmer replied to Debbi Farmer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My Dr is at Rex in Raleigh near Wake and they have a nice wellness center there I saw when I went to talk to the nutritionist. I think you can join reasonably. They also have support groups there once a month for bariatric patients. -

Hi and Welcome! I'm still in Cary. I'm doing great I have about twenty more pounds to goal and have lost over sixty now. I never did find a local support group though I do think there are some around here. I have found the support of the board here and my family has been good. Feel free to message me if you want any advice on the area, drs hair dressers or whatever. I love it here! Where did you move from? -
Weight Lose Moving At A Snails Pace....beyond Frustrated !
Swimmer replied to ambercochran's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm doing well. I've lost about 70 and am about 6 months out. I still have about 18 to go to get to my surgeon's goal. Raising calories never works for me. I just keep upping the work outs. You'll get the rest off. Good luck on your journey. -
I have one small incision that seems infected now. I'm wondering if I should just put Neosporin on it or if I need to contact the dr. It seems late to have this issue. It's one small hole that is the issue. Thoughts?
