    that is true, but i guess i look at it this way.. the benefits out weight my desire to eat an abundance of food. I would say the first few weeks i was right there with you... i just want to be able to sit down and actually eat a meal... but honestly within the last week i just don't care as much.. and when i look around i sometimes feel bad for people because i see them gorging themselves. its funny cuz when i was over weight i never noticed all the overweight people around me, but now that i have to pay attention to what i eat its just insane when i look around. I feel bad for people ... and not in a sarcastic ha ha im skinny your not way.. i mean i really feel bad. i didn't realize just how much of the population is overweight and unhealthy. I know that in a few more months ill be able to eat more, and im actually dreading that day because im wondering if my brain will go back to the old mentality that just because i can fit it in my belly i SHOULD eat it.. even when im not hungry.. i don't wanna get there again.. I don't want food to have the hold on me that it once did. I would eat because i was bored, pissed off, happy, sad, hell basically just because i was awake! Sorry i kind of go off topic sometimes, lol... anyways, yes its going to be a struggle at first because you are gonna WANT to eat, but trust me that feeling will slowly dissapate when you start seeing amazing results in your body! your gonna start wanting to eat better because you FEEL better!
  2. 5'7'' Hw: 265 GfS: 250 DoS: 238.1 Cw: 194.1 Gw:150 Ok I normally try and be really positive on my blogs cuz everyone has there ups and downs but the key is to keep pushin on, but this week has literally got me down. And let me start off by sayin im not upset that I only lost 1 lb this week, im upset because i am now on a slight bed rest. I have been working out a lot because I am training for the tough mudder, and i have been pushing myself. But I know how to work out so its not like im hurting myself because of my work out. Ok i have to give a little back ground. In my 28 years of existence i have probably been in about 12 car accidents. the last one was pretty bad, and now i have 3 herniated discs in my low back. and one of them is pressing against my ciatic nerve. normally it doesn't hurt bad, but at times like this when it gets inflammed it almost paralyzes me from the waist down. I can't bend or move much without this really excruciating pain. Well im at that point right now, and unfortunately my health insurance ran out from my last job at the end of last month, so im kinda screwed. anyways, all i wanna do is be able to go running or workout, and i feel like im stuck in this damn if i do damn if i don't state! well hopefully this pain subsides soon so that i can get back to losing weight.. I didn't do any pictures this week, because i didnt lose anything, lets hope next week is better! Hope all of you are having a better week than I am.

    Week 11-- Sooo Bummed Right Now. But Tryin To Keep My Head Up

    just wanted to say thank you for the kind words of support! i have actually been resting for the past 4 days now.. not one lick of a work out..lol its been tough, but i know my body really needs the rest. Dorrie im sorry to hear about the family troubles.. makes mine seem really insignificant..lol i know i just need to not complain cuz i guess it can always be worse right?! however im glad that you got to see family. so far i have tried motrin, heating and icing, and salonpas patches.. it helps a little, but unfortunately the one thing that would help which is my epidural injections i can't get until i have my insurance back. so hopefully it will just correct itself in time. jennifer, that is where all my issues are to L3-4-5 its not fun i can say that much.. and i know that you can't work out right now, but have you tried the swimming pool.. that might be something to do until you can really start working out. it would at least give you resistance training and help tone muscles as well as speed up weight loss in a low impact environment. anyways, hope you ladies have a good week. and i will keep you posted on my recovery, cuz i really wanna get back into the swing of things.

    so excited for u!!!!! i was nervous to goin into surgery, but its really not that bad. Yea it had its ups and downs, but goin on 11 weeks out.. im a machine! lol i feel better than i have in a long while.. and i know you are gonna be fine.
  5. HOLD THE PHONE!!!! ok i try not to disagree with people since we are supposed to be supportive to one another, but i have to say this... please DO NOT START BAD HABITS NOW! You obviously had the surgery because you were overweight which mean early on in your life you picked up a bad habit. eatting ice cream everyday is not gonna be a good habit to pick back up. You are young and so im sure right now you have a higher metabolism than most, and because you are active at work its probably keeping it that way, but with age your metabolism will slow.. trust me, and if you pick up these habits now you will most likely wind up gaining weight that you did mean to later on. my suggestion to you is start hitting the gym and doing strenght training, weights, bells, circuit training, obviously you don't need to really do a lot of cardio, but this way you can pack on a healthy weight because of muscle gain instead of fat weight from high sugar content. take in a good amount of Protein to help build and recover muscle before and after training.. most of the guys i know that wanna pack on muscle to gain weight injest between 60-120 grams of protein a day depending on your activity level. I just really wanna caution you on eatting fatty, sugary foods to gain weight, because its not the type of weight you want to put on. good luck to you tho.

    Goal Weight Question

    at any point for anyone you will stop losing weight either because there is no more fat for you to lose, or no more fat that you should lose! I wouldn't think that most people will lose much more 2-3 years out because it really shouldn't take that long in the first place to lose your excess weight. At that point it you should really just be maintaining if anything. I also think that a lot of people might not hit goal (and i say that very lienently) because once they drop the excess fat that they have the may also have excess skin which is going to add a few lbs that they wont be able to get rid of unless they have plastic surgery to correct it.. and for a few people that can be an excess of 20lbs or more. Stalls and plateaus happen, but nothing really that can't be conquered. Hope that helped
  8. ughhh... been up for 30 hrs... just got out of the hospital cuz i didn't want my girl to be alone after just havinng a baby.. but now im soooo exhausted.. welp people good night and ill talk to you when i wake up!

    definitely won brownie points!!! lol... see i knew there where more of you guys out there than the handful that i see posting...... Not TMI at all.. congrats that you are so close.. you are gonna love your sleeve. depending on how much you have to lose it may take time, but im sure you will do great! just stick to the program, don't get me wrong it aint gonna be easy and you are probably gonna stall like every other person, lol, but at least u will have the awesome support of this group to keep you on track!!!!

Im sorry that you are feeling this way, and im glad that you are taking steps to help correct your self sabotoge...I really think that you should take a look at the boot camp thats pinned to the forum by lilmissdiva.. it may be a great tool to help you get back on the right track again. And my honest advice is.. when you wake up in the mornin.. dont hate yourself for what you did the day before, because it will automatically put you in a slump and make you feel bad, and im sure like a few people on here that bad feeling is what makes you eat in the first place. wake up and know that today is a new day whatever happend yesterday can't be fixed or changed, but TODAY can be different. start as if its a new diet every day, that way you can try and manage. Its how i work on my stuff to. Everyday is a new day and everyday you have your slate wiped clean. I hope you can get your food issued under control. I would suggest also calling your nut and seeing what they recommend. Good luck to you!

    Why Am I Starving Today!

    i was like that last night... i swear i couldn't satisfy my hunger to save my life... or my thirst for that matter.. i just kept drinking and eating..all day! i honestly think a lot of it has to do with your period, but i think a lot has to do with the fact that in general we are not takin in a lot of food and your body just gets to that point where it goes.. ok damnit..im hungry ..go eat something..lol Trust me that is not in any way shape or form the scientific explanation for why you are hungry.. its just my opinion.. i found that if i just go eat that day then im good. I get back on track the next day.. now im not eating crap food, but ill just go eat Protein or veggies till im full.. and then do it again in about an hour. funny part is.. i don't gain weight cuz im not eatin actually all that bad.. and if you think about it your still not eatin any where near what you would need to .. to actually gain weight, unless you are ingesting carbs or sugars. so try and stay away from those.

    Does Anyone With A Sleeve Run?

    Im 10 weeks out and I have actually been running/jogging since week 2. It is very doable, just make sure to listen to your body, if it tells you to stop.. well.. stop. lol But I am actually training right now for tough mudder. Im at the gym 5 days a week and running 4 days a week. I start boot camp today so we shall see how that goes. good luck to you on the marathon I think you are gonna love gettin in your work outs.. I was always active before my 4 knee surgeries so picking up on the exercise wasn't too difficult for me. But i would say start off slow and see how your body handles everything then slowly work your way up to more each day. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

    since i half japanese this was already a staple in my diet..but i recently found prepacked ones at safeway... the are microwavable... sounds odd, but perfect for on the go.. and they have a lot in these little packs.. made with sea salt.. they are soooooooo yummy.
