  1. I was hitting the gym almost 5-6 days a week interchanging between cardio and weights, and my cardio would be zumba, running, kickboxing, or bootcamp.. basically anything that kept my heart rate up plus that way i never got bored with my workouts.. and i am actually a member at 3 gyms.. lol Congrats, july will come sooner than you think... and thank you so much, trust me work your sleeve to the fullest and you will get the results that you are looking for. what do you mean ONLY...lol 48 lbs is still very amazing.. that like an entire kid. Ive honestly realized if you Celebrate every lb lost, your journey will go by much smoother.. cuz really if you think about it .. without the surgery could have lost 48 lbs in 6 months.. I tried without the sugery... i gained weight.. lol.. but there will be times in your journey that you lose quicky and time where you wont lose at all.. I have since gained 5 lbs since i wrote this, and thats ok cuz i will just work my butt off and get the lbs gone again..lol.. in regards to food.. i just made sure i was eating as healthy as possible.. ate my Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack , dinner , snack. if i craved something sweet i ate fruit.. if i really wanted to be bad and eat some type of junk food, i did... might not sound right, but honestly like ive said before if i don't get what im craving for i will eat everything in its place till i get to what i want.. so i figure give my tummy what it wants in moderation ad then im ok. and drink plenty of Water. so basically my menu went like this breakfast- 1 egg white(normaly only ate like 2 bites), 1 bacon, salsa, orange juice snack-watermelon lunch- grilled chicken on salad snack- string cheese, or pickle dinner-fish, broccoli, snack- peanuts,
  2. Today I am 6 months post op and although i am still 11 lbs from goal, I am no longer going for weight loss. I feel most comfortable at 160 because I have a lot of muscle so I will always weight more than the average lady and I am ok with that.. Even tho I am not going for weight loss anymore I am now going to see if i can TONE up.. more likely than not i will actually put on a few lbs in the process, but I want my muscle back. I will start doing P90x again, and what i really wanna try is INSANITY, but i need to order it first so for now P90X it is.. lol.. If anyone is interested in my before and after pics I posted them in the VSG sucess section.. Wish me luck and hopefully in 90 days i can post better more toned pics of me.. Good luck to everyone on their journeys.
  3. My starting on day of Surgery was 238.1 today I am 161.4 and my goal is 150.
  4. Thank u so much, and dont get discouraged, we all hit the stall thru out this journey mine included..but i found that when i hit a stall i just up my cardio workouts and it breaks really easily.. go a little easier on urself ur only 5 weeks out ur body is still adjusting but trust me it will break. lmao!!! thank u that made me giggle!
  5. MIna im sure right now it seems like the pain wont end.. i know i was there.. the gas sucks, the motivation to do anything is even worse.. but once u get over that hill u will be able to enjoy your sleeve.. even now sometimes its still a pain in the butt, but I couldn't imagine what my life would be like had i NOT embarked on this journey 6 months ago.. And every day I am thankful that I had the opportunity to go thru with it. I think when i first started my journey all i did was look at the success stories because it gave me a viable end result that i could physically see in others.. and if it werent for this site and the wonderful people on it im sure my journey may have been much different. I wish u all the best and just know that it will get easier as time passes. lissa thank u so much.. i know i wish we could do a girls night out.. and honestly we just might i visit FL so next time im down i will make sure to give u a buzz.. U are always so positive and give great feedback, its people like you that made my journey so much better, easier in fact.

  9. looking great!!!!!!!
  10. gettin back into work out mode... ran a 5k today and did my leg work out tomorrow is abs and arms

  11. So yesterday marks 24 weeks out or 5 months post op.. I am 13.6 lbs from goal and feeling good.. so here are my stats 5'7" HW:265 DoS:238.1 CW: 163.6 Goal:150 These past few months have been the best that i could have ever imagined.. My weight is under control, my boyfriend and I are engaged, and I feel like a brand new me. The funny part is im not even worried about these last few lbs because to be honest im not sure where they are gonna come from, but hey.. hopefully not my boobs or my ass..lol. I have been lucky so far to not really lose my boobs.. my butt got a little deflated, but hey a little squats will perk it right back up.. I do have to admit i have been slackin hard core on the working out, but thats because im sooo tired from driving every week to see my fiancee. Unfortunately he doesn't live close so we have to drive back n forth to see each other.. not fun but hey its a sacrafice im willing to make to be with him and vice versa for him. I am hoping to be at goal by the end of next month, but if not no biggie.. just wanted to set a little goal for myself and see if i can achieve it, but in order to do that i need to get back to hitting the gym and running like i used to.. So here is my pledge.. i will run at least 3 days a week. and i will hit the gym at least 2 days a week.. i need to build muscle! I leave you with pictures and my thanks for all your support in my journey to a new and improved me. I hope that I have been a slight insperation to some of you as you have been one to me. here are some recent pictures of my journey..

    How Successful Was Your Surgery?

I would also have to rate it a 10 hell lets go a 15! I started at 238.1 the day of surgery even tho my highest was 265. And as of today 5 months post op im 13 lbs from goal which is 150. I feel amazing, and I have enjoyed the process of a better me. I wish i had done this sooner, but everything in its own time right?!?!?! I can't wait to see where im at a year post op.. even tho im sure ill be at goal by next month, im just wanting to see what i am doing in a year. lol. But all in all... I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS ABOUT THIS SURGERY!
  13. Ok so i had a question... I was sleeved 12-12-11, and about 2 months after surgery i lost my health insurance so i have never actually been in to see the doc or my NUT post op. I am wondering if there is anything that I can do to get in to see them. I think that im doing really well on my own, but it just seems unnatural that i would have this surgery and not have a follow up. I tried to get on medi-cal, but apparently unless you are over a certain age or are having a child, you don't qualify. So..... any suggestions. I mean to be honest I almost feel like i don't need to go cuz im really happy with my results, but i feel like I should have had some kind of maintenence updates with my doc especially now that i am so close to goal!
  14. have a lot of errands to run today... getting ready to go out of town to visit the boyfriend... i cant wait to see him!

  15. hope that helped good luck to you.
  16. out of curiosity this sparkling ice.. is that carbonated? cuz you really wanna stay away from carbonation. it can stretch your sleeve out. but honestly, 27 lbs is still really good, so don't be discouraged. I would try changing your workouts.. or if you are walking on a treadmill try walking outside.. you need variety in your workouts or your body will start getting used to the workout and it will eventually stop helping you.. you need to do whats called muscle confusion.. change your work out every week or at least every other week and you will get better results.
  17. I just wanted to say... I am soooo happy with my decision to get this surgery... as of yesterday I am 166.6 from a starting weight of 238.1 the day of surgery! that is 72 lbs forever gone!!! I don't know how decided to get on this path but i know that I am glad that I embarked on this journey! I am hoping that i can be at goal by either june or july, but its not really a race and i really dont care, but i just wanted to set another goal for myself. I am still running 3 times a week, unfortunately i have kind of slacked on my circuit training to only 2 times a week, so i really need to step that up.. thankfully i only have minimal loose skin on my tummy and unfortunately my butt deflated a little..lol, but i figure with enough exercise i can bulk my butt back up and i may have to go in for some plastics for my tummy, but ill weight till after i decide to have a kid to do that. ok so now that i got my happiness out of the way.. i actually have a question. I know that the doc say we should wait at least a yr to get prego, but really shoot for 2 yrs post op, and im wondering if that is because most of the time people haven't hit their goal weight this early on.. or is it because our bodies are still adjusting to the surgery... Im asking because I wonder if i hit goal within the next few months.. will it be ok to start trying? my reason for asking isn't really that i want to get prego right away, its more out of curiosity just in case. cuz i may need to rethink my birth control..lol... i for the life of me can't remember to take that damn pill. anyways here are some before and almost after pics..lol
  18. thank you so much... its funny cuz i just lost all this weight and now im thinkin bout pregnancy... i got issues..lol.. no but really i just dont know what to expect and what to worry about... i don't think eatting is gonna be an issue for me ..i eat all the dang time as it is..lol, but im just wondering if its too early. I think im just gonna have to talk to the doc and find out my best course of action. thanks again tho

    Boobies

honestly... ive always had large boobs.. when i started the surgery i was a 42DDD now im a 38DD/36DDD ... yea they have deflated just a little bit, but the ladies are still in tact. thankfully.. and i have another 16 lbs to go.. I am going to look into augmentation just to get the lift back, but doesnt really look like they are gonna go down much further which is nice to know.

    100 Pounds Gone Picture

you look absolutely amazing!!!!! congrats on all your hard work it definitely paid off!
  21. thank you every one...I am very happy with the changes and feel amazing! honestly I eat what i want in moderation..I go for the healthy stuff first, but i try not to deprive myself of something that i really want. And im running at leat 4 days a week and im doing circuit training or resistance training 3 days a week. My progress is slowing the closer that i get to goal.. but im trying to not let that discourage me! I have to say I think the gym time and running really helped my weight loss go faster. Good luck to you on your journey!
  22. OK ladies. someone has got to help me.. i know i posted a forum before about my eh hem... labido.. being kicked into over drive.. but I feel like im a walking horn ball!!!! I almost think i need to take something to keep me from being so freaking horny! k... now im sorry but this might get a little um. R rated so be forewarned. My man and I got busy this morning.. and when we were done... we got busy again.. and when we were done.. lol.. i still needed him to do a little extra with his mouth cuz i just wasn't finished yet..lol...OMG i can't believe im even writing this.. but ok.. so the past 3 days... its been like bunny rabbits and im still having to sometimes take matters into my own hands, if you know what i mean, when he isn't around to help me!!!! Now used to think that addicts were for drugs and alcohol, but u know how people say they traded one habit for another with VSG... i think i traded food for sex.. which on any normal circumstance i would not be complaining about..by any means!!! but WHAT THE FREAKING HELL!!! im basically having to bring an extra pair of panties with me where ever i go cuz if see a hot guy...im like AND..... waterworks!!! lolololol.. Someone tell me what to do please?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
